Regan Nursery

This place is really expensive and they have a really bad service I got my cart ready to pay 15 min before closing and they asked me if I was ready I told the person I was going to take a look around and probably get something else and the person very rudely told me were closing in 15 min you need to pay now and I asked him are you kicking us out? And he said without apologizing no one wants to pay overtime? What is this a way to treat customers think it twice if you want this service

People keep talking about the roses here. I hate roses. However, this place also has a wonderful collection of Japanese maples. I just went there today on reconnaissance for my back yard project and found everything I wanted. With no roses.

It is definitely one of the better nurseries around and gets points for the variety they maintain that’s otherwise hard to find locally. I have always enjoyed visiting Regan’s over the past 5 – 6 years.
Yesterday’s visit helped put a finger on exactly what was holding me back from a wholehearted 5 star review of this place. While the staff do seem super friendly and interactive, more often than not it has been with other shoppers… I have most always had my questions answered — but almost never had a proactive recommendation or tip from the staff. After waiting about 10 – 15 min to get a writeup for my purchase yesterday, we had to chase down a staff member to get someone to pay attention. The lady — once available, was extremely courteous and apologetic about the delay — no doubts! But all this while other folks around were being helped! (the lucky ones giving this place 5 star reviews I guess!)
It’s a local rig and feels bad to ding such a wonderful place of a 5 star review … but it was very clear to me yesterday that the staff, though well meaning and sweet — is way more eager to work with folks that look like them and talk like them. I so wish that weren’t the case!

This was the first nursery me and my husband had ever been to! The two people who were helping us (I was too excited to ask for their names) were so helpful and knowledgable. The lady directed towards «citronella,» lol! Which I didn’t know was a few different types! And the gentleman over by the citrus explained all the different types of citrus me and my husband were interested in!

l I recently had a bad experience with the car lot that is next door to Reagan nursery and after winning my small claims court judgement the car lot owner said he would not pay me so I asked for permission from Reagan to use her property to picket the car lot and without any hesitation she gave me her blessings
even under pressure from the next door neighbor at the car lot and the police department asking to have me removed she stood up for me because she knew that I was standing up for the other 200 people that had complaints against this car lot I was not just picketing for myself I was picketing for those people also
The police department of Fremont should have been on the right side of those 200 people on Unilocal instead of the bad side which is H&R car dealership
When the police and the owner of the car lot approached her she said I gave him permission and he has every right to voice his opinion and he is in the right and the person next door should just pay him what he owes
so I am in total support of this nursery and if anybody can help her find a new property to transfer to would be doing her such a big service to whatever community she transplants — I’m sure that she is a good tenant as well as she is a person in life
I just want to give Reagan another big hug for her support and her staff being in support of her also

Bought 2 fruit trees there.
The staffs were professional, knowledgeable, and very nice.
Prices for bare root fruit trees are very fair, considering the size I got. Both the fuyu persimmon and jujube are $ 49.99 each.
They have a 90 day warranty. Looking forward to vigorous trees with fruits after couple of years.

I like the place and I go here whenever I need a plant or tree. Today, my reviews focus on the bad service I received last Friday. I went there before 2 pm on October 2, 2015. Before I checked out, I ran into a lady who was issuing a sale items list to present to cashier when checking out.
The way she talked to me and my wife was a real put down. Lady, if you don’t like your job, please find somewhere else to work. Don’t talk to customer the way you to us. Especially, I was bringing money to your boss.
First, she asked me if I will plant my blueberry plant on the ground or in the pot. Then, I told her I would use pot. She told me I need acid soil. Then, I asked her if I plant them in the ground I don’t have to use acid soil right? Then, she said I still need to use acid soil. Why did she ask if I plant in pot or on the ground when both environment required acid soil. Her question confused me.
Then, she asked «do you understand?»
She told us that I need to cut a stem in the future when it no longer bear fruit and becomes old. Then, I ask her if I should do it once a year because in my mind I believe that we all trim or cut tree plant once in a while. She said: «I didn’t say that».
There are many more impolite or harsh words coming out from her mouth. I don’t remember to list here. Maybe she saw us as Asian and she is racist that was why she talked to us like that.
She show us the fertilizer for acid loving plant. But I didn’t buy because I didn’t like her. If you don’t like Asian customers like us, just write the item tag list and let us pay to cashier. But if you want to talk or to help Asian customers, be nice and friendly. Don’t ever ask Asian customers «do you understand?» or «I didn’t say that». Yes, I do understand everything. I understand that your attitude make this review 2 stars. And yes, sometimes you didn’t say that but can I ask question or rephrase your words? We were not accusing you anything, so I didn’t say that or you didn’t say that mean nothing.
If you have something to share with your customers, share it. If not, keep your mouth shut. Don’t ever ask Asian customers «Do you understand?» question. That was insult to both my wife and me.

I was referred here by an employee over the phone at a Lowe’s Garden Center and I’m so glad I came here. We purchased 80 percent of the plants for a backyard renovation for my mother in law at this nursery. They have a huge selection of roses and many other perennials and annuals. They give you a little wagon thing to easily put your plants in as you shop and there are plenty of helpful staff ready to answer your questions and give you great advice. We found all the plants here that I wanted and they checked us out in a very efficient manner. I love that they actually care for and water the plants and are very knowledgeable on plant care and the selection they offer. Unlike Lowe’s and Home Depot garden center! I would not come anywhere but here if you around the area. They were also very helpful over the phone on the selections they carried. Very happy customer!

Fabulous plants, nicely laid out, people who know all about the plants they sell.

I sat on this review for a couple weeks, but it has been bothering me too much so I have to submit it.
I used to think of this as a 5-​star place — but recently these guys started started treating me like I am a thief whenever I pull in! It is really kinda strange, and I find it incredibly awkward.
My
shows that I spent $ 2,671 in the past few months here. This kind of spending usually get me some kind of «fav customer’ recognition — but apparently here they think I am trying to pull something on them.
In any case, here I am — for friendlier service, and better prices, I recommend folks to find the nursery at Dale Hardware about a mile from here.

Rude and prices ridiculous. Prices are 5x more than SoCal nurseries. Don’t ask the lady there any questions. She makes you feel 5 inches tall

Regan Nursery is a hidden gem in the East Bay! I honestly didn’t want to write this review to reveal their great selection and prices.
I came here on a whim, looking for a white nectarine tree ($ 29.99). Since winter is the best time to plant most current-​dormant stage, I was surprised there weren’t more customers on a weekend! Afterwards, I wandered around and found some soil (organic and non-​organic mix at $ 8.99 per bag) and some chicken fertilizers ($ 4.99 — btw, this is a STEAL!). I’m going to rave on chicken fertilizer for a little bit, but it is by far the best fertilizer for already-​planted plants, but it will be too strong for newly planted plants.
The staff here are helpful too! The gentleman took a cart and loaded the tree, soil, and fertilizer in my hatchback WITH a plastic lining to protect your car from the debris. PERFECT!

Good place to get your plants purchase on. Friendly sales staff, and a pretty big outdoor garden area to buy pots and other assorted greenery. Prices are pretty reasonable for the area.

Been searching for a large house plant at regular stores like home depot and lowes. No one sold any decent looking ones. Decided to go to a real nursery and found this place on Unilocal.Lots of outdoor plants to choose from. A small selection of house plants, but it was large enough of a selection for me to end up buying 2 plants. The service here was great, workers were very knowledgeable and friendly. Would recommend this place.

Thanks (or no thanks lol) to Regan Nursery, we have a crowded yard full of pepper plants. The fiancé is obsessed! They were super cheap so we ended up with 48 individual plants. I think that it’s a bit much for only two people, but what makes him happy makes me happy, right? The people here are much more knowledgeable and passionate about gardening than at OSH or Lowe’s. You can tell that they spend time gardening themselves. That’s why I like it here.
We ordered some bare root roses for 2015, and I can’t wait to update with how those turn out! I know nothing about them but am confident that with their expertise, we will have no problem planting. Yay for english roses! The Queen of Sweden and Gentle Hermione are our faves.

All the employees are super helpful! I didn’t ask for his name, but while I was at the herbs section, this employee answered all of my questions that popped to my head. He also gave me advice of preserving the herbs by freezing them or drying them. He told me to use a starter fertilizer and also informing me about how much water to feed my babies. He pretty much told me everything I need to know. The herbs are super cheap about $ 2.98 for small ones and $ 3.99 for a six pack of cilantro. I will definitely be coming back. I love the attentiveness of the employees!

I like my privacy… and so I came to the conclusion that I needed some bushes to plant along my fence in the backyard, because there are big gaps between the fence slats and my neighbors are so damn nosy that every time I’m in my back yard I always catch them peeping thru the gaps. It’s not like I’m sunbathing in the nude, but geesh I’d like to sit and read in my backyard without some peeping tom looking at me!
Anyway, I was looking for bushes that were already tall, I don’t want to wait years for them to grow… I looked around for people to help me and point me in the right direction and no one was to be found. The only person that was there was the poor girl at the register who had a long line of customers.
I ended up getting a bunch of bushes that are not big at all, but I hope they grow quickly.
The selection of plants and trees is immense. But, it would be nice if staff was present and available to help customers.

I’ve been following my Mom here on her Spring nursery trips for years. They are expensive, yes, but this is one of the times where you are paying for quality. Many of these plants come back year after year with the proper care so their initial prices may cause some sticker shock but they’re often worth it. Stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s have a decent selection of roses and other plants but nothing like Regan’s. The staff is also really knowledgable and friendly, helping with locating certain items and describing their care and qualities. I think that many of the staff members have worked here for years, making their care and knowledge that much more incredible.
They also have a great assortment of other garden décor and tools. The prices are sometimes high but some of their items can’t be found elsewhere and people who come to Regan’s seem to care a lot about the quality of their products and this place delivers.

Regan has an amazing amount of roses. The people in the local rose clubs say that they have the most extensive inventory in the greater Bay Area and beyond. The roses are more expensive that what you will find in the big box stores. However, the roses at Regan are healthy and with robust canes. They will produce prettier roses than the lower grade roses that the big box stores carry.
It seems that we make at least two trips to Regan’s Nursery a year. Early in the year S and I go to see the bare root roses and back we go in the fall when they discount what they haven’t sold.
This year I’m passing on purchasing any new roses for our garden. I am more worried about keeping what I have now alive with less water, then I am adding something new, as tempting as the rows of pretty roses is.
