NorCal Imaging – Fremont

I’ve been here twice over the last three months; the first time as a walk in for a shoulder x-​ray and the second time with a scheduled appointment for an mri. during my time in the waiting room i have seen more rudeness from the patients than any member of the staff. they get barked at, disgusted sighs and eye rolls, and through it all the receptionist maintains a smile — sometimes a laugh — and treats each new arrival with courtesy and respect. On the other side of the door — both teams manning machines are friendly and helpful, they make you feel at ease explaining your procedure step by step. i think this place is fabulous and i highly recommend them.

I went in to this place and first if you’ve never been there the front isn’t really the front. The office is on the side facing Bart… so drive ground before you park. The front tech was not that bad, however, what was disgusting was their waiting room. By disgusting I mean the chairs, they were dirty, extremely dirty with dirty water spots on all of them. I’m not a germaphobe but I also don’t like to sit on dirty ass crap while I wait. I then wait ~30 minutes which isn’t bad as a walk in. But when the technician came out to call my name they didn’t even call the correct spelling, I mean I know your in Fremont and will get tons of difficult names, but a simple Hispanic last name that is actually #1 Hispanic last name in the U.S. isn’t difficult. Not only that but she called out a pre-​fix before my last name which don’t exist. I then asked her what she called and she still said it wrong, I asked her if it was (I said my last name) she said yes. I then asked her why she had put a prefix before my last name and she said that why we check DOB, I was like huh? Overall, poor experience with the waiting area, you would think with what they charge they can get some chairs that are easy to clean and then actually maintain them. This place doesn’t care much about client experience, and yes, we are the clients. Won’t go there again for sure. Next time I have to go for x-​rays I’ll be blasting my doctor if they try and send me to this waiting room dump.

Staff is great, front staff is very friendly and quick. The wait to do the x-​ray was a bit long, but seeing how we didn’t have an appointment, it’s not bad. They also need a bigger waiting area. Give yourself some extra time because parking is in demand here as well.

Front desk was prompt in scheduling me an appt.
When I arrived for my appt. they handled my check in quickly. The CT scan tech was awesome as well. Office staff appears to be very organized.

I dont like the billing system. The agent asked me to pay for the service upfront.
The payment got charged to my credit card, but never credit to my account.
If i dont pay upfront, there is no service provided according to the agent.
I got a new bill two months later asking to pay the balance.
I spend over an hour calling the billing dept and the local clinic. The issue is still not resolved

The people here are so rude and impatient. People come here with health conditions, injury or are elderly. The last thing patients want to deal with is all the attitude at the front desk or while on the phone. Also, they speak so loudly about your situation, so there is no privacy. The entire lobby can hear everything.

Try to make an appointment rather than a drop in, you get in much faster and don’t have to deal with the horrible wait!
Made an appointment for early 9am on a weekday, it was super crowded full of drop ins. Checked in around 8:50am and got in exactly at 9am. Making the appointment definitely helped! As I walked up after getting called, I saw an Indian guy begin complaining as loudly as possible that it’s unfair a «kid» like me came in a few minutes ago gets in before him, who has been waiting for a good hour. Luckily the worker who called me in confronted him as kindly and assuring as ever, asking him to please be patient and so on. She definitely handled the situation well – props to her!
I wish I got her name to thank her for helping me through the process. She explained what would happen for me through my upper GI series and what the drinks taste like, which I had to endure through the x-​Ray as well as answering all of my questions. I remember she is a Chinese lady whose name starts with an L, but she is definetly a great worker.
Dr. Mansfield worked very quickly through the x-​Ray and let me see what it looked like.
The results came back in less than two days for the x-​Ray of $ 120.
Not saying I would like a reason to come back, but if I needed and X-​ray it would be here.

Sucks. I wouldn’t even give it one star. Wait time was one hour just cuz I was 5 minutes late and it was lunch time. Ridiculous that all the techs took lunch at the same time. This is a business in America not in a third world country where you’re closed for lunch or tea or siesta time.

The employees are incompetent. The Dr. had requested two MRI’s, the tech read it back to me and I said: No the Dr. requested two scans, skull and right orbit. She said I don’t see that, I requested she call the doctor’s office and double check and asked her to check my file since I had always had both done. She didn’t do this and on my way home (a 35 min drive) I get a call from Nor Cal Fremont saying: oh the technician read the order wrong we need to reschedule another time for you to come back for the orbit scan.
Another time the MRI machine broke, as I was walking out of the office to my car (this was 10 mins after my scheduled appointment time) I get a call from them informing me the machine was broke and that they wanted to save me the drive from Livermore. I asked: are you in the same office… I’m walking to my car my appointment was scheduled for 10 mins. ago, I had already rescheduled and left. I wasn’t upset the machine broke; I was upset that they didn’t know I had already rescheduled and had left. I now go to Nor Cal Imaging in Pleasanton where they can read and communicate not only with each other but with their patients.
To the comment left by this business: you care about my business so much you waited over a year to reply to my review. Typical of the service I received before this review. I wouldn’t go back if you were the last imaging place in the state of California.

I had a great experience here last week. I had some lower abdominal pain that lasted for weeks so my doctor sent me here for ultrasound. The ladies at the front were super friendly and very fast. The ultrasound tech was the sweetest person. I had drank my needed water as directed but it wasn’t showing during the scan. She was nice enough to allow me to wait while she started on another patient so this way I didn’t have to come back again. She was very understanding and super comforting. It is scary to be laying there, not knowing what she is seeing and if it is serious but she kept it professional while making me feel at ease. Great place!

I’ve had almost absolutely the worst experience with this clinic. I came in for a CT scan due to a chest pain. I gave them a set of procedure (given by my DR) to follow for the CT Scan in order to measure the Haller Index of my chest. 3 month later, Only to find out later they did not follow the instruction given, as matter of fact i called in 2 – 3 time to get the proper result and get a hold of the Robert P Huberman MD that reviewed my Scan to look at it again. Stopped by their office and they refuse to give me my scans that I paid for… i asked to see DR he is never in the office… He was suppose to return my call … that never happened.
pretty much to sum it up all medical industry these days, once they have your money… its over… they do not care about the well beings of the patients and are just bunch of insensitive money hungry human beings.
3 month later my chest pain is getting worst and more frequent pain.

Awful experience. I scheduled an appointment to have a CT scan and when I called to schedule it I said IV contrast to the receptionist. They tell me over the phone that I need to come pick up liquid contrast so I go do this thinking that I must need that and IV contrast… NO! These idiots scheduled me for the wrong type of scan and I had to drink that nasty garbage for no reason! They were going to make me re-​schedule my appointment and leave but I could not miss any more work for doctors appointments. The lady up front really seemed to care less and didn’t apologize for her error or the lady who gave me the liquid contrast (even after seeing my paper from the doctor that said IV contrast). I’m not a doctor, I figured these people knew what they were doing and that I was supposed to have both. So anyway, I call my doctor (after they said they would but didn’t)and he said I was ok to have the scan done. The nurse who did my scan was awesome but the people up front have no idea what they are doing!

Very efficient, friendly, and helpful staff. Did a walk in at 4 and was out of there by 4:45. Clean and organized. Great convenient location right next to BART. Would definitely come back.

The employees at Nor Cal Imaging are truly amazing. They have been considerate, patient and knowledgeable each time. Whether it’s their accounting dept., schedulers and esp. their technicians. I appreciate this quality of service and I recommend using them. I’ve used the Fremont office over a period of 5 – 6 years and each time the service is outstanding!

I came here for an ultra sound. At first I was lost and walked by this place like 3 times. Then I finally saw their main entrance, it faces the Bart station off of civic center drive even tho the addy says it’s walnut ave.
Walked in. Was greeted by a super friendly gal. Shared a small convo about the procedure and coldplay and journey concerts. We’re both fans! I waited about 15 minutes for my ultra sound then I was taken back by a super friendly ultra sound tech.
I changed into one of their gowns and waited for a few minutes for them to come in the room and begin the procedure. Well the interesting thing was, on this FATEFUL day, and all to my luck (sarcasm) she had with her an intern. So I was the test guinea pig and part of her «educational process.» The tech told me I had to option not have her in the room during the procedure but what the hayyy… its all good.
But all in all, this place is an absolute 5 star all the way and a HUGE contribution to Fremont’s healthcare system due to its friendly staff, cleanliness, modern and pleasant facility, hospitable, understanding, and VERY caring technicians.
I loved the soft lighting in the rooms, and very tasteful paintings on the wall! I actually love places like this. Pleasing to the eyes!

Some of the girls up front are really nice, some were meh… waiting time kinda lagged past my appointment time. The ultrasound technician was awesome and really nice.
The changing rooms were really clean and the office in general is really nicely setup.

Today I had my boobies squeezed for the first time — aka the dreaded mammogram and other than the slight discomfort needed of the procedure itself I thought it went pretty well. The lady who serviced me was very professional and caring making it as comfortable as it can be considering the machine squishes the breast and half your armpit into a flesh-​flapjack and then radiation gets shot in.
I feel fine considering, just remember not to wear deodorant!

I went there for an X-​Ray. The front desk whom I’ve talked to was ok. What I just don’t like was that there were like 3 or more front desks and all they did was chit chat wherein most people in the waiting area can hear all that they’ve talking about. It’s not a good representation for the company. Plus, it’s a long wait!!!
Pros: Modern, Clean, Friendly Radio Tech!
