Montessori School of Fremont

We are thrilled to have our soon attending MSF! We cant say enough at the wonderful staff and director Ms. Lindsey at MSF! He started here for preschool and is now attending the elementary program, and could not be happier. Our child’s math, reading and all other areas of learning have flourish since being at MSF! This is a legitimate, internationally accredited Montessori school, which makes a big difference in our child’s education.

My kids attend this school for 2 years now. They are doing well and enjoy the hands on learning and the variety of topics they learn like advanced math, biology, history, washing a table and how to sew a button :-) They follow the AMI system where kids in 3 age groups attend classes together. Topics are first taught using Montessori materials and later with paper and pen. Teachers are well trained and experienced. There is independence/​differences between classrooms in subtopics covered, order in which topics are presented, and extent of use of non-​Montessori methods as enrichment. The rooms are very spacious and playground has play structures, sandbox and some play equipment. No specialist sports coaches are available, Day care is available and 2 – 6 year olds have enrichment day care based on Montessori system. They present a fantastic Opera every year where all Elementary school kids have a role and sets/​costumes, etc. are made with the help of parent volunteers! There are 2 teacher conferences per year and several events where parents can see how the Montessori materals are used and get a feel for what is being taught :-)
In my opinion, this system works best for self-​motivated kids. Some kids need a push and may be better suited for a traditional school. It is also best for parents who step back and trust the system as there is no published curriculum, SAT is not taken seriously, there are no goals for each year (only 3 year goals) and homework is considered busy work.

This is a Great School
My child started at this schooln when she was 3.5 years old after 9 months w /​Fremont Parent Co-​op (another good choice for someone looking for socialization /​play interaction) My child learned self reliance by the time she was in 2^nd grade. Conflict resolution by the age of 5.
My original plan to pull her out when she was old enough for public school went out the window after 1 year of attendance at MSF. She is now about to start the 9 th grade at the schools annex for Middle and high school.(Alsion Middle & early College School)
She is a well mannered, kind thoughtful young lady with an broad education.
She has learned more in the 7^th & 8 th grade than I did iny entire Centerville area public high school carreer. No one ever yelled or even raised their voice
to my child. This is a school that has ALL the possibilities a child (parent) could hope for.

Our kids have gone here for summer camp for about 5 years. Most folks are really great and kids love it.
