History

Established in 2003.

Medical Career College was founded on basic principles including integrity, altruism & advancing the future of the nursing profession. MCC was born of a sincere desire to provide an excellent education to student-​nurses; and, due to our growth & success, we have expanded our programs, which now include a vast multitude of educational options (including nursing) within the medical field.

While some enter the medical field desiring only a lucrative, in-​demand career, our Director, Dr. Marilyn Castillo, entered this field with the earnest desire to help those in need. Dr Castillo’s compassion is reflected in every aspect of MCC, a school that successfully merges empathy with education, academics with altruism & leadership with learning. Dr. Castillo’s appreciation for education, combined with her compassion & concern for all people, led her to pursue her dream of helping others. Dr. Castillo founded Medical Career College with that dream in mind & today her dream has become a reality.

Marilyn Castillo graduated in 1980 with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing at PLM in Manila, Philippines. In 1985, she finished Doctor of Medicine at Fatima College of Medicine. Most of her experiences were focused in skilled nursing facilities in management position.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would without any hesitation. I went here to get my CNA license and I was more than satisfied that I chose to go to MCC. Excellent staff and I was able to get a job after I passed the boards. Susan gives you vital tools to help you find a job but it’s just up to you to use those tools to your advantage. I gained a family in my class and probably the most fun I had in a classroom. It’s by far the fastest program that I know and before you know it you’re a CNA. I love coming back to visit from time to time and this is where my health care career really took a big leap all thanks to MCC. Also by far the most affordable and cheapest program that I know of as well. If I were you, and you’re thinking about becoming a CNA, Hemo dialysis, or LVN then this is the place to go. Apply now!!!

While waiting to get into a nursing program I decided to take a CNA course with Ms. Elisa whom I loved and learned so much from. Then a year later I went back to take an Acute CNA course with Ms. Rosalie who is also an awesome teacher and who I loved learning from as well. Everyone of the staff members are genuinely caring and want nothing but for us to succeed. The teaching staff is great and the facility is nice and clean. I’m glad I took the opportunity to start my nursing career here while waiting to get into a nursing program to further my education and become a future RN.

Taking Medical Career College’s CNA program has been one of the best decisions I’ve made as a Pre-​Nursing student so far! From Mr. Dell who reached out to me and gave me all the information i could need to start, to Miss Susan at the front desk helping my classmates and I get every detail correct on our documents, to Dr. Marilyn the director always showing support, to my personal favorite, Mr. Xavier, our instructor. Mr. Xavier is one of the best instructors I have encountered in my education of nursing so far. He never hesitates to give you answers for your questions, always willing to drop what he’s doing to help you out and mostly always friendly and polite. Definitely recommend him!
After I took the 6-​week CNA program, i passed my ARC Board Exam (written and skills) with flying colors thanks to the preparation Mr. Xavier and MCC has given me. Now, just after 3 weeks after graduating and passing boards, I was able to land a job at Lucille Packard through the Power Personnel agency (which Miss Susan led me to btw).
Overall, MCC has been such a pleasure to be a part of since I picked up that phone call from Mr. Dell and decided to pursue this first-​step to my nursing career. THANK YOU MCC!

I took the CNA class over winter of this year after coming back from vacation and while waiting for the quarter term at my school to start. Made a quick call and Ms. Susan answered my questions and I enrolled for the course. Cost was just about 1K and learned so much. Ms. Elisa was the instructor and was such a wonderful teacher! She’s quite a character, sweet, fun, very knowledgeable (because she’s such an experienced RN), and truly wanted the best for her students. She was very strict with the procedures, but it’s only for your benefit when the Red Cross test approaches and the RNs come in to test you on your skills. They also give you a list and numbers to contact if you’re looking into applying for a facility once you pass the exams. I’m so grateful for Ms. Susan & Ms. Elisa who helped me so much; they’re such great assets to this college. I would never hesitate to recommend this school especially since they’re a good resource with programs available whether you’re looking to be an LVN or Hemodialysis Tech, etc. Thanks MCC!

Medical Career College is the best thing I did towards my nursing career! The facility is always clean and the the staff is awesome! I took the Certified Nursing Assistant PM class and they made learning easy and fun. They are always there to help you if you have any questions or don’t understand something. After taking the State Board Exam with the American Red Cross, they helped me find a great job opportunity! Reminder: They DO NOT promise a job placement but, WILL HELP you find a job by providing you a list of facilities that you can apply to. Basically, I had a great experience with them and suggest anyone to check out the school if they are looking to study a job in the medical field!

I graduated LVN program from Medical Career College in 2011. I also passed my NCLEX board in my first attempt and started working in the same graduating year. We had a class of 15 students. Because of the small class size, instructors were always available for any questions and concerns. This really helped me to get through the LVN program. MCC provided a good learning environment and always encouraged to use their resources (library, books, review DVDs etc.) to prepare for the exams. My experience with Medical Career College is nothing but great.

I highly recommend medical career college!!! I’ve been to another LVN program (advanced pro in hayward) which I didnt learn anything and teachers were not motivational or helpful. In medical career college Teachers truly care about students And also motivates you to pass your course as well as the nclex. I passed my Lvn course knowing a great deal of knowledge which greatly prepared myself for the nclex.

I attended MCC about 3 years ago for their CNA course. It was less than a month long and at that time, tuition was $ 1000. Which, included the textbook and a pair of scrubs you wear for the clinical portion of the class. It was fast paced. yet the teachers were very nice and cared very much about us students. They gave us a lot of tips and pointers for taking the exam. (by the way, they have a very good passing percentage in their students, we only had two students fail from my class, but only because they didn’t pay much attention to what the teacher taught us) Upon graduation, a few of the teachers even gave us a few numbers and addresses that were looking to hire immediately. I didn’t apply because I had a different job offer already. Not sure if any of my fellow classmates got hired though.
