History

Established in 1934.

Haveman Hardware was started by my grandfather, George Haveman. My father worked here as a child and young man until he was drafted for WWII. When he came back from the war he continued to work for his father. Sometime in the 60’s he bought it and took it over.

I worked here as a child dusting shelves and doing the yearly inventory. I put myself through collage working for my dad. My husband and I bought it in 1986. We have done many remodels and updates to the building.

About 1990 I became interested in rubberstamping and scrapbooking so I changed our gift department to a craft department. This department is known far and wide. People travel for miles to visit us.
