Got Curry?

I’d say the food is 3 or 3.5 stars, but the great value for money and the friendly service pushed it to 4 stars for me.
I got the rice bowl with half chicken and half paneer. As you’d expect, the sauce is rich, creamy, and pretty delicious. It’s not super complex (there’s not a ton of spice, for example) but it gets the job done. The chicken and paneer are well flavored (I think the chicken is spiced and cooked separately and then put into the sauce, which is nice). The little bit of onions and bell peppers are helpful in cutting through the richness — in fact, I wouldn’t have minded a bit more.
For $ 8, you get a LOT of food, and they threw in the half chicken/​half paneer for free! Very cool. I would eat here again!

6÷8÷15 (update): I think I gotta demote them from 4 to ³⁄₅. Their chicken has always been dry and far overcooked, but it didn’t matter so much in the forms I’ve previously had from them (burrito and quesadilla), but today…
1. Curry Bowl $ 8.00: So for this you get a big «bowl» of piping hot rice smothered with curry chicken. Great. But DAMN that chicken is DRY. Like I said it didn’t matter so much when it was crammed into their burrito or mixed with cheese and stuff in the quesadilla, but just naked like this it was really frickin’ bad. I didn’t want to finish it. Was like eating sawdust. It’s unfortunately cause they didn’t skimp on the amount – there was quite a bit of it. Quite a bit of sawdust. Sigh. Sorry they killed a bird for this. ²⁄₁₀.
Yuck. Well, I think I’ll still be getting their burrito and quesadilla cause they really do taste good despite the chicken, but this… will take time to forget.

When I saw one of their menu items where they put Tikka Masala in a burrito, it had me sold and I was definitely wagging my tail with high hopes that it would taste as great as it would sound.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed at all! Their Tikka Masala tasted way too watered down. Where is all the bold flavor that Tikka Masala is supposed to have?! It was very bland and I had to drown in sriracha sauce in order for me to feel a bit pleased with my purchase.
Although, I must say I was pretty impressed by how big the portion was for its value!

The food is not cheap and comes with a long wait. The style can be best described as hard dry tortillas stuffed with iceberg lettuce and awful «indian“curry.»

Okay okay if you look at my photo for this review you’ll see exactly why I took off so many stars! I ordered the chicken curry tacos and let’s say the menu sounds pretty appetizing. However, the final product did not look too good. My taco was literally a pile of lettuces on tortilla. What?! Where’s the cheese and meat? It wasn’t until I had to pick away at the lettuce to find the chicken curry. Okay it wasn’t that bad, but not the best chicken curry I’ve had. Trust me, I’ve eaten a really great Indian restaurants located in Berkeley! So thank you Got Curry but no thank you!

Just tried this truck at the Foster City movable feast.
Had the chicken curry bowl. It was passable at best. Not mich flavor. And although the menu stated it came with grilled onions and peppers, mine were raw.
Will not be trying them again any time soon.

Did not have a memorable experience. I ordered the chicken curry bowl and there wasn’t much about it nor was there much food for $ 8. Wish y’all were more generous with your meat, of course there were plenty of rice. But hey, maybe the chicken was drop dead delicious that they couldn’t afford to give me anymore? Wrong. It was chicken and it was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe I’ll give it another try, but quite possibly not. It wasn’t bad though, however, it wasn’t anything memorable.

The potential is there, but my order tonight was not all that great. Ordered the chicken curry bowl and a chocolate funnel cake.
The curry bowl looked and smelled delicious, but that was the extent of it. Only counted 4, maybe 5 cubes of chicken so that was disappointing. The most flavorful part of the dish may have been the cilantro sprinkled on top. No spice or flavor at all in the curry.
As for the dessert, when I opened it, there was barely any drizzle of chocolate and powdered sugar, making for a whole lot of fried dough.
Again, the potential is there, and maybe it was because it was the end of the night, but I was disappointed with my order. I’d probably give them another chance.

I liked the flavors of the crazy tacos. However the tortillas need some grilling and I felt like there was way too much rice. The chicken and paneer selections got lost and only showed up in some bites. Again, they’re good sized but you need the core ingredient in every bite!

The boyfriend and I bumped into this truck during the Moveable Feast today and decided to check them out after having a free sample of their rice bowl. I ended up going with a Tikka Melt, and Robert chose the Curry Bowl. I also ended up ordering a mango shake because it sounded too good to pass up.
The boyfriend takes his food truck rating a bit too seriously, but I almost always trust his opinion. He gave them an A-​, which is extremely high for him. My sandwich was amazing. The lettuce was a pleasant surprise, the sandwich was spiced extremely well, and the chicken basically melted in my mouth. SO GOOD. I do wish it was a bit hotter, but it’s an amazing dish to feed the masses. Boyfriend also really enjoyed his curry bowl. He isn’t a fan of extremely spicy foods, so it had just enough heat for him. What really sold me was the mango shake. It was only $ 2 and freaking delicious. I basically wanted to ask if I could order it in a gallon. I was definitely expecting something similar to mango lassi, but it was much thinner – perfect for food truck dates.
They quoted us a 5 – 6 minute wait time, so we ran to another food truck quickly to place an order. When we got back, the food was ready. The cherry on top? They asked if it was for here or to go and bagged it up for us instead of tossing it into an open container. We’ll definitely be on the lookout for this truck at more Moveable Feasts! They’re a great addition at a really good price point.

Its always interesting to see peoples take in fusion food. I wouldnt necessarily call this fusion though — its more of indian food wrapped in a tortilla or soft taco shell.
It is quire delicious though. I tried a paneer burrito and it was very flavorful and lightly spicy. The paneer was cooked well and blended in well. Pretty good stuff!

I got out of line when I reached the front because it was taking way too long. The chef noticed I left & I came back to my desk with a complimentary Chicken Masala Burrito on a wheat tortilla– exactly what I was going to order!
The burrito was flavorful & delicious, but not spicy enough. I’ll try the paneer next time.
5+ stars for the food & customer service!

Why not?! I love both!
This truck came to my work and it was great to try it out, ordered the masala burrito, chicken on spinach wrap. It was huge and ran me 9 bucks with a can of soda. Told me it would take around 6 – 7 minutes to prepare.
It took much longer then that, around 15 minutes, thus I’m knocking down a star. They accept credit cards so that’s definitely a plus.
The guys are friendly and informative.
The burrito was amazing, very nice balance and the accompanying sauce was really good.
Definitely going to put this truck on my regular lunch option.

Wow, so healthy, tasty, delicious. I’ve eaten from a few different food trucks but this one was the most epic — not greasy, perfect proportions of ingredients, tasty. Highly recommended!

And to culminate my Food Truck Feast Week, the new kid of the block. With only one review here, and me being the first check in on 4Square. But what they might be lacking in social, they make up for in flavor.
And Price! Every option was $ 6. I got a lychee drink that brought it up to a whopping $ 7. And it was big. I got the three chicken tikka masala tacos, and they were good. rice, veggies, and large pieces of flavorful chicken. Add Sriracha and you have a mighty fine meal.
Now the options are limited in that you have a chicken tikka option for meat, or paneer for vegetarian. Food is either tacos, burritos, quesadillas, or rice bowls. But you can’t go wrong with a dedicated vegetarian option. My only complaint: no mix and match. I would have wanted to try the paneer tacos as well.
Speaking of which, the same Indian American coworkers who did not care for Chutney Mary’s loved Got Curry? And even better — one of them is going to borrow the idea of Indian food in a taco tortilla formula for his home consumption. 0
Can’t wait for this truck to come back. This is a definite try again.
