Welcome to Countryside Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Greg Matthews started this veterinary practice in Fremont, Ohio, in June of 1987 in the Potter Village Shopping Center. In January of 2009, we moved into our new facility at 2180 Dickinson St. where we are well equipped to serve our clients’ and patients’ needs.

Countryside Veterinary Clinic offers complete care for dogs, cats, horses, food animals, and camelids. Small animal appointments and farm visits are scheduled daily during regular office hours.

We have 2 veterinarians and 4 staff members to serve you.

Business Owner

Dr. Greg Matthews — Originally from Pemberville, Ohio, I graduated from Eastwood High School in 1968. I earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University in 1975.

After graduation, I started a mixed practice in Bowling Green, Ohio, and practiced there for 9 years. The next year was spent working at Select Embryos, Inc., in Plain City, Ohio, doing Embryo Transfer work on cattle. In 1986, I purchased Dr. Russell Miller’s veterinary practice in Republic, Ohio and a year later I opened the Fremont office in the Potter Village Shopping Center. In 2009, we moved into our new facility just north of Fremont at 2180 Dickinson St.

I very much enjoy private practice and working with both large and small animals. I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, the International Embryo Transfer Society and the Society For Theriogenology and regularly attend contin
