Chandler Garage Door Service

Chandler Garage got our appointment time mixed up which caused my fiancé to leave work early and sit at home for 3 hours for no reason. They were apologetic and sent someone over immediately but that still took about an hour. Finally get there and the repair took less then 10 minutes. He sprayed it with something I’m assuming to grease it up a bit. Said it should be working for the next 10+ years. I hope so. I will need to update this review if it doesn’t! They knocked off some kind of fee for getting our time mixed up. $ 100 gone in less than 10 minutes after waiting 3+ hours. I guess that’s life. Still got the job done.

They provided excellent services to us and did follow-​up call when we requested. They are very prompt with appointment and provided excellent services.

Tech said they were going to order a part and come back, waited and waited, and now three months later we hired another company to complete what they started. Very poor service.

Our garage door broke a few weeks ago so my son and I tried repairing late on a Sunday night. Well this is a job for the pros folks after the garage door completely fell off the rails and landed on my son and I, I light went off in my head «I should have just called an expert. Then my son says good job dad it went from being stuck open a few inches to completely off «your the man»! We weren’t hurt in anyway thanks to all of the junk in the garage and after laughing at my sons humor and being thankful to be a live I realized, now my problem of not having enough money to repair it just turned in to not having enough money to replace it. I was referred to Chandler from someone on the «nextdoor» app I had recently installed on my phone. Anyhow I called and they said someone would be out later that day they said they were booked solid but promised to help out. Later on I get a call from the owner that he was on his way and that he had to come help because they were to busy to send a tech. He was very helpful and after I explained that I couldn’t afford to replace it he said he would figure out away to repair it for a low cost. I had to return to work and when I returned home our door was up and looking good it even opened. We needed them to come back out a few weeks later for an adjustment and the receptionist was very friendly and scheduled it that same day since a tech was in our area. He came out made the adjustments and refused any type of payment and was done very quickly so I could make it back to work on time from lunch. Great company will definitely call Chandler when we are ready for a new door!

Chandler Garage Door is very dependable and does excellent work. Its just that plain and simple. Ive worked with them for years now as a property manager, and I highly recommend them to people in need of garage door repairs, or installation.

The installer was very helpful and professional on both occasions that he came out. The communication with the office was frustrating the second time we worked with the company. However the manager was responsive to my concerns. We now have all repairs completed and are completely happy with the work.

Highly recommend Chandler door service for their pricing and installation. I needed 2 garage doors replaced recently and called around for pricing. I also got a quote from the Costco partnered Amarr Garage Doors. Chandler’s quote was lower than the Costco/​Amarr pricing by ~10%. Also Chandler has a (small) showroom in Fremont where you can see the different types of doors and understand what you’re getting for the price. They really took the time to explain the differences and pros/​cons of each type. Never did I feel any pressure or sales pitch from them. After all the comparison shopping, I went back to Chandler and bought from them.
The installation was awesome as well. Very professional and well-​planned. The installer came on time and explained everything before starting. For my install, there was quite a bit of extra work required because the original installation was done poorly. So he took the time to fix everything and do things the right way (no extra charge). After finishing, he cleaned up everything very well and explained how to maintain (twice a year oil) in the new door, as well as setup the remotes.
Overall, a very pleasant experience with no surprises.

These guys were great, we had our door installed back in 2004 and haven’t had a moment of problems with it and we even ordered a new gasket for the bottom to keep the rain out last year. They stand behind their work and product. Highly recommended.

My garage door broke over two weeks ago. The garage door was purchased from Chandler in 2006. I could tell it wasn’t the actual door that was broken but beyond that, I had no idea what happened. Because Sears did everything but the actual door I called them first. …& second. … They never returned my call as they had promised. Twice. So I figured they didn’t want my business and called Chandler, not knowing they also do repairs (I was calling for a referral). The woman reported that two technicians were in my area and one was able to come out within the next couple of hours. Did I mention it’s also Friday afternoon at 3pm??? Larry showed up close to 5pm and stayed almost an hour replacing our ancient parts. Larry was an Extremely nice man and helpful in educating me about how I can prolong the life of our garage door/​parts.
So in summation, I called Sears over two weeks ago and couldn’t get anyone to call me back. I called Chandler at 3pm on a Friday and had someone at my house by 5pm and my issues resolved by 6pm.

They showed up on time and replaced both springs. He made sure everything was properly adjusted and lubed everything up. He then showed me what to lube and reccomended doing it twice a year.

Garage door spring broken. Called them had very quick and early appointments, very reasonable the installation was fast. Highly recommend.

Here it is the day before a long weekend and I needed some work done on my garage door.
I called Chandler (they did the initial install seven years ago) and the lady said she would have someone there between noon and 2:00PM. Five minutes after two and they show up — wow. Pat and Jim took a look at things and started the repair process right away. Not only are they nice guys with excellent customer service skills, they had the door fixed in short order. Oh, and the price was VERY reasonable.
Good job! I’d use Chandler again in a heartbeat.

Replaced garage door springs and opener in 2011 and one of the springs broke within three years. Apparently the warranty is just two years on the springs. The previous time I replaced the springs, it lasted for more than 12 years. Totally unapologetic and wanted to come and replace both springs for the regular price.

Chandler is a dream come true! They called half an hour before to let me know they were on their way. Once here, he fixed my garage door that kept bouncing up when I was trying to close it. In addition to the repair, he serviced the garage door, which apparently was in great need. Great customer service. So happy to have my garage door fixed. Highly recommend!!!

Updated review 6÷17÷2014:
Owner George came out today and brought 2 technicians with him. We first discussed about the issues and plan of resolution. The bottom fixtures were not installed properly and will be adjusted and the door shifting may be caused by the settling of the house and might not be able to get back to the old position.
The technicians removed the bottom fixtures. In order to align them properly along with bottom of the door edge, they decided to drill the holes larger on the metal bottom fixtures so the screws already drilled into the door do not have to be moved. That was a smart solution. It took about 2 hours to get the work done. The door travel was also adjusted slightly lower to fill the gap at the bottom of the floor. Now, I don’t see light coming through the bottom of the garage door.
The door shifting had to be adjusted by adjusting the tracks, but the track was blocked by concrete. So, there’s still unpainted wood in the side of the garage. I need to buy another can of matching paint to paint the unpainted wood and buy wood patty to touch up a small crack in the wood door (probably caused by the pryer used to jack up the door).
George and I also discussed about the confusion about the pricing to make sure I was not thinking I paid too much for the work. I do understand I am paying a discounted price and combining promotions/​discounts. The thing I was not happy about was the quality of initial work and the scheduling issue that took 3 visits to complete (and yeah the price quote changed several times due to confusion).
I have modified the rating to 3.5 for the effort from George to resolve the issues as much as they could and working with his team to avoid these issues from happening again. The missing star is for my time wasted.

Original review 6÷13÷2014: I have used Chandler’s for my garage door repair in the past, so, when the bottom fixture in the garage door broke a week ago (right after garage door was painted by a handyman), and the handyman did not have time last week, I called Chandler’s to give me an estimate.
I was quoted $ 30 to replace a fixture plus $ 85 trip charge/​tune up. I found angie’s list deal for $ 100 that includes tune up and replacement rollers. So, I called up Chandler’s and said I would like to pay $ 15 more and also get new rollers. I was requested to purchase the deal from angie’s list directly.
In the purchase I also noted in comment section that other than the tune up/​rollers, I also want 2 bottom fixtures replaced. We scheduled a 2 hour window on last Saturday.
I have a lot of places to go on Saturday (they don’t open on Sunday) but I stayed home waiting for the repair man to come. Manny came 30 minutes after the 2 hour window (he did call and let me know he’s running late). The thing is he was not aware that he needed to replace the bottom fixtures and he has no parts with him. He placed a temporary screw to secure the broken bottom fixture so I can use the garage door for a few more days. I didn’t get any of my planned things done on Saturday.
Manny said he would order the parts from distributor on Monday and get back to me. Nothing happened on Monday. I called Chandler’s and got an appointment and I had to wait until Thursday.
On Thursday, I wait for the 2 hour window and Larry was running 30 minutes late. Due to the delay, Larry had to hurry up to work on the door so he can finish the work by 5:30 when I have to leave. Larry mentioned he upgraded the rollers from plastic rollers to nylon rollers with ball bearings to compensate for the issues. He also accepted 10% off coupon I have from angie’s list.
After the work was done, I had to go out to pick up the kid (and avoid the $ 1 a minute late pickup charge) and did not really check the work and just paid the balance.
After I came back home to check the door, it was a disaster. The bottom fixtures were not fitted flush against the bottom of the door but with a gap. The rubber strip below the fixture could not be secured properly. When the door is closed, I can see light coming through the bottom of the door along the entire length of the door. On the outside, I see a strip of unpainted wood on the left side of the door (meaning the door was shifted to the right). As the door open or close, I see the rubber beneath the bottom fixture rubbing against the side rail. I feel the whole door is falling apart. The door also became dirty with grease on the outside on this newly painted garage door.
I called Chandler’s this morning to talk to the manager/​owner. George told me he was going out of town today and will stop by my place to take a look next Tuesday.
So for now, this is the first part of the review. If the situation improves next Tuesday, I will update the review.

A great team of door installers. I managed to back into my garage while I was inside! and these guys came out and removed and installed the new garage door the next day. this was in 2009. They replaced a spring in 2012.
Recommend them without hesitation.

My garage door spring broken this morning, so I found this company on Unilocal and called them for help, they quickly scheduled me on the afternoon. as the guy shown up on the right time frame, very friendly, and changed the springs just within 15 minutes, also did some safety checking, lube the track and all the joints, I’m 100% satisfied! Good service!

I called Chandler for an estimate on repairing my garage door. They came out & looked at my door. The estimated provided was very high (I thought). It was over $ 800. I called The Door Doctor for a second opinion & estimate. They provided with the same remedy to repair my door for HALF the cost.
I called Chandler based on the great Unilocal reviews & would have gone with them without getting a second estimate. The estimate was just too high.
It always pays to get an second estimate despite good Unilocal reviews. You can’t always ignore a second opinion!!!

We replaced our old wooden door with a nice roll up door along with the newer door opener that hangs on the wall instead of above the floor (huge difference and so aesthetically pleasing!). I LOVE MY NEW GARAGE DOOR. These guys were kick ass awesome. Very professional. Four hours from start to finish to do the job, cleaned up their mess, left without a trace.
Highly recommend.

When we moved into our new house last year, the garage door was noisy and squealing and didn’t work half the time. You’d press and press and press the button on the remote and after a dozen tries, suddenly the door would open. We thought the remote was dying.
Well, Larry from Chandler figured out what the real problem was. The remote antenna on the unit had been stuck inside the unit and was only getting intermittent signal from the remote. He also lubed up the hinges and put a special low temperature lube on the rail. The door is much quieter now.
I was impressed with his expertise but even more impressed with his ethics. Before he found the covered antenna, he thought we were going to need a new unit with a new remote for around a hundred bucks and we’d already said that was fine. But he was too ethical to keep quiet and let us spend the money once he found the real problem.
Also he spent time showing me how to maintain the door in best condition myself. I appreciated that. But hell, with guys as good as Chandler, I’d rather just call them.
