Bryan is a great real estate agent for many reasons. The most important thing to me was to find an agent who had great communication. He always followed up with me to let me know what was going on with my home. He also was able to help me understand what everything meant and made me feel comfortable along the way. I would highly recommend using Bryan when you are ready to buy or sell a home.

We knew immediately that we wanted Bryan to sell our house. He was professional, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable about our neighborhood and marketing strategies. We met with several other high-​profile agencies in the East Bay, but the trust and integrity wasn’t there. With Bryan, he listened to us, worked within our limits and scheduled meetings for us at odd times, set up inspections, and he never failed to deliver as promised. With his guidance, we sold our house at 10% over asking price within 6 days of listing it on the MLS. No one else could have done more for us, or better for us, than Bryan Van Heusen!

My review is 2 and half years OVER Due (Sorry Bryan), should have done it long time ago better late than never. What can I say about Bryan? Awesome real estate agent to work with:=) very nice guy, always there when you have question and need some answer fast, either via email or personally call you on same day.
My wife and I come home late at night from work and if there is some paper works for us to sign Bryan will come by our place around 9:00PM or 10:00PM so we could sign the paper work. He will work late so he can accommodate your time. He will thoroughly explain in detail what we are signing for so we know what we are signing for.
We bought our house in Hayward in 2012 and went through hard times dealing with lender. Thank God we had for Bryan on our side to deal with them and after a few months we were able to close the deal and move into our house.
We used him recently to sell our Discovery house in November of late last year (2015) and since market were very slow in Discovery Bay he was able to find a buyer for us in no time.
I wanted to write more about Bryan but take my word for it. He is very professional, very good in what he does, either selling or buying a home. In my line of profession and working with Real Estate Agents for more than 15 years, I can say Bryan and Jesse are one of the top Real Estate Professionals that always put their clients first and look out for their client’s best interest. They are dedicated in providing exceptional services and customer experience to ensure a smooth and seemless transaction.

There are a lot of agents to chose from, but most of them don’t respond promptly, and seem to work part time. Not Bryan! He always over delivers every time I’ve worked with him on a transaction. We recently purchased our first place in Union City through Bryan and Jesse. if you are looking to buy or sell your home in bay area, I would highly recommend going with these folks. They are very helpful, always there to help, answer any questions. After you deal with them, you can tell how experienced they are in real estate industry. You get immediate response to email, text and calls. They are also available to meet in person all the time as long as you let them know in advance. We as a first time home buyer had countless questions and doubts through this lengthly process and now we are pros because of them and everything went very smoothly, from making an offer, counter offers to closing. They communicated well with my lender and followed up with the listing agent promptly. They have a very good negotiating skills. They wont push you for any purchases and always come well prepared when they come to show you the property with inspection, comps, suggested repairs, remodel costs etc.

Bryan was awesome. We had some trouble selling our home (due to issues with the house, not with Bryan) and his calm and reassuring approach really helped keep us from panicking. I decided to sell or rent my condo in Oakland. Prices are through the roof, so the time was right. I needed to figure out how to sell a condo in the brave new world. First I called a realtor I had done business with before, but they did not jump at he opportunity, so I figured they were too busy in this crazy market and I might get lost in the shuffle. Where to find the right realtor? Next I thought that since we all know how expensive a realtor can be, so why not try to save that chunk of money by doing it myself. Zillow had a section called «make me move» so I filled out the info and took a few pictures and hoped just the right person would see it and buy the place with no hassles. I also offered the unit to a couple of friends but after a couple of weeks I had no interest in the unit.
Enter Bryan Van Heusen. Bryan saw my zillow listing and took the initiative to call and suggest that he could sell the condo for me and net me more money than my Zillow «make me move» price, which I had set higher than the Zillow appraisal. Sceptical, I decided to check him out. I have used a few realtors before. Two were great but retired, one was very good and professional, but I have also had agents recommended to me that I would never use again and not recomend myself so I need to be convinced. I tried other ways to investigate, but was really reassured when I read the Unilocal reviews. Stars are nice, but sometimes you can read the reviews and realize they are «luke warm» stars. Bryan’s reviews were people taking the time to really write about their good experience. I was convinced.
So Bryan did get me all that and more. He gave me excellent advise the whole way, was easy to deal with and returned all his calls. He didn’t over promise and he did over deliver. I cannot be more pleased.

As first time home buyers, we feel so lucky that we had Bryan to help us to purchase our first home. With his help, it us only took 1.5 month to get our dream house. (including loan pre-​approval, house seeing and closing)
At the very beginning, We had no idea where to start with. So following some suggestions, we decided to hire a buyer agent. We found Bryan on Unilocal and called him immediately. He quickly setup an appointment with us at the same day. Kindly explained the home purchase process in details and setup email notification for all new home coming up to market daily. He did all of these without even ask us to sign any exclusive contract.
With his help, we got pre-​approval from some lenders within the next couple days. And we decided to start seeing. Doubtless, Bryan did a great job on this too. All we did was simply told him which houses we want to have a look, and he will come up with a great schedule for you. Bryan or Jesse always make themselves available to accompany us for open house visiting and give advices at the same time. Lucky, we found two nice houses in our first weekend-​house-​hunting tour and decided to write offers. They provided us a report of compared prices of similar properties before offer deadline. This ensure that we can offer a good price to get the offer accepted as well as not putting a unreasonable high price. Fortunately, our second offer got accepted and this house actually is our favorite :)
Inspection was nice and smooth. Bryan went over reports with us in details. And we all feel good to continue with this house. We found our first lender (U.S Bank) because it has the lowest rate at that time. Appraisal came up with a lower price and Bryan quickly helped us negotiate with the seller and lower the price. The loan process didn’t went that well. Our loan got declined 5 days after the expected closing day with a ridiculous reason. Thanks to Bryan, he efficiently came up with solutions for us and communicate well with listing agent. Finally we got our second loan approved in 10 regular days. And closed three days after it. Happy ending!
In additional, I highly recommend Bryan’s team for these reason also:
1. He’s always on time for his appointment. Very patient to explain any details. Always answer your phone if his available or call you back if he miss the call.
2. He try his best to protect his clients. Try to suggest every offer a reasonable price instead of asking you to bid as high as possible.
3. When emergency happens, he does his best to calm you down and give effective solutions at the same time.
4. Communication skill with seller is really good.
In short, if you need an experienced and professional agent to guide you through. Bryan’s team is absolute your first choice. I will definitely refer Bryan to my friends and family for home purchasing in the future.

I can’t say enough good things about Bryan and his team. I was very price conscious during my home search and hugely unfamiliar with the Fremont real estate pitfalls (other than renting of course). I originally met Bryan when I posted a «make me move» price on Zillow. Bryan contacted me and said he was interested in meeting with me to see if he had a possible buyer for my house. Bryan is an incredible agent!
We found Bryan accidentally – we didn’t have a realtor, but we called about a property in Castro Valley that Bryan was the realtor for. In that conversation, we talked with him for over an hour and decided he had to be our realtor.
On our first visit, Bryan sat with us to discuss what we wanted in a home, we talked for an hour discussing our priorities. In addition, Bryan gave us a folder with tons of information to help us understand the process of buying a home. That folder was illuminating and definitely made us feel more confident about the process of buying a home.
Bryan worked with us for nearly a year as the sky-​rocketing market made us question the kind of home we wanted, the location we wanted to live in, and so on. Bryan listened to us and acted like a sounding board for our concerns. This is our first house so to say it was overwhelming for us is an understatement, but Bryan makes it remarkably easier.

When I first thought about selling my condo in 2013, I really hadn’t any concrete idea as to when I actually would. I put a notice up on Zillow in March to ‘make me move’. I had gotten a few calls about the condo from investors looking for a deal; I wasn’t in a bad situation where I needed to get rid of the place right away. And then Bryan contacted me, telling me that he was a local realtor just scanning the market, looking for potential homes for his clients. He asked if he could come by and evaluate my condo to get an idea of what I had. I figured why not? It would at least give me an idea of what I had and what the market was like, as well as see what type of a realtor he was.
Bryan came over with his associate Jesse, and did a once over and took some measurements. They were both very professional and cordial to myself and my family; not your typical salesman-​type. They really seemed to care about your situation. He might have been a little disappointed when I told him I wasn’t quite ready to sell, but all was for naught. He was planting his seeds, I’m sure of it.
May came around and I found out that another unit in our complex had sold for an amount that really did make me consider selling. I got things moving by contacting a realtor friend to see who she would recommend in my area; I contacted a Redfin agent (see my Redfin review); and I gave Bryan a call-​back. The idea to sell was now going to become a reality. I met with the agents and asked them to tell me what they thought was a realistic price to sell the condo. The first agent really didn’t give us a good feel for what the place could sell for; the Redfin agent thought maybe it would sell for a little more than the last condo sold for; Bryan seemed to have his finger on the pulse of the Fremont condo market and thought it would definitely sell for more than the last.
At that point, I still hadn’t been sold on Bryan; I contacted the Redfin agent first, because the amount of fees that I would save would almost balance things out between the two. And that’s where I learned that you definitely get what you pay for. After contacting the Redfin agent, and asking if she’d like to represent us, she was frank and indicated that she really didn’t think she’d be able to get the price that we were hoping for. She indicated that she would do a little research and get back to me; a couple of days went by and we heard nothing from her after repeated phone calls to her. At the same time, I had told the other agent and Bryan of our decision to move forward with someone else. Bryan, being the guy that wouldn’t take no the first time, asked for one final chance to prove his worth. He came over and presented all the market analysis that he’d done, as well as show us what he’d be doing for his fee. While his fee was only slightly more than Redfin’s, it definitely was worth it in the end. Being that Redfin failed to deliver, we went with Bryan.
By this time, it was already the middle of May, and we were hoping for an early June showing and Open House. Bryan got things going and got us ready for a condo photoshoot. Though we had been cleaning and packing stuff away in storage, he was a little stressed when he came by a couple of days before the shoot, to still find the living room full of boxes. When the day for the shoot came, he was completely blown away at difference a couple of days made. The photographer that Bryan hired definitely helped present the condo in its best light.
Bryan and Jesse presented the home for several Open Houses, along with a few private showings. We ended up in contract at first with a very generous offer within two weeks of being on the market; the person eventually got cold feet and walked away. Being on its third week, Bryan worked at getting the initial offers back to the table to see who was still interested; we’d hope that we wouldn’t have to go back onto the market and Bryan made it happen. The second highest offer came back with a little more to sweeten the pot and we decided to go with them.
Although the buyer and his agent were really difficult to work with, Bryan remained level-​headed throughout the deal and talked me through the situations. Though it frustrated him as well, he continued to press forward, even going out of his way to pay for carpet cleaning for the buyer though we were never obligated to do so.
In the end, Bryan did deliver as promise. We got a little more than we had initially hoped for, and that’s all that we could ask out of the deal. His time and effort in the deal was well worth his fee. He’s definitely not one to sit around and wait for people to come to him; he’s out there, meeting people, developing relationships, and planting seeds. And best of all, he’s a great guy and someone that I’m glad to call a friend. I wish I was always in the market for selling/​buying a home in the Tri-​City area, as Bryan would be my goto realtor
