Been here at least ten times, mostly because it is centrally located between friends and/or work. Hot pots are okay, the girl likes them from here more than me. The staff is hit or miss, but generally okay. However, if you want a second round of ban chan, good luck. You might get chastised from across the restaurant by the ban chan nazi at the register. This has happened more than a few times, so you’d think we would have learned sooner. After the last visit, we finally decided we won’t be back. We have also done the all you can eat and could only choose between the corn dish and the other option, but it’s one or the other. Once you’ve made your choice, there is no choosing the other option after you’ve finished the first one. Regardless of it being AYCE. If there is a vegetarian at the table when others get the AYCE, make sure they don’t eat the Jap Chae or risk being chastised in a not so discreet manner. Even after offering to pay for an order of it. Being embarrassed during a $ 100 meal for three is not our style. We’ll stick with Tobang or one of the other numerous options in Santa Clara’s K-town. NONE of them seem to have a problem with serving ban chan on request. Perhaps there is something lost in translation at this place, but this ain’t our first Korean restaurant rodeo. Maybe they should post a list of their obscure rules to prevent customer’s embarrassment.

My friends and I ordered 2 special combos for 5 people. A special combo is supposed to be for 2 people, but we are 5 small Asian girls, so 2 combos were plenty for us. :) I think we could have had another girl at our table and it would still be okay. I’m glad we ordered the combo so we could try other dishes instead of just meat(AYCEBBQ). The service was quick! The ladies gave us all the side dishes and food in record time. Even though there is a BBQ plate in the middle of the table, they used a portable BBQ plate on the side. The raw meat was frozen(not fresh), but still good. Once in awhile, a lady would help flip our meat when we were busy eating. Since we had a party of 5, the check included gratuity already. They told us this, so we wouldn’t double tip them. I will definitely come back because of the excellent service!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a new all you can eat bbq place and came acorss Bob Sang’s. Came here on a Saturday night around 7pm and luckily the wait for us was about 10 min. Service here is amazingly quick, whatever you ask for they will bring it back to you the next minute. All the food comes out asap too so if you’re hungry don’t worry there’s no wait! All of the side dishes and meats were pretty good. Only negative thing I would say about this place is how awkward the waiters would cook the meat. I mean I can cook it myself but if they really insist then ok. However, I was just sitting there watching my meat and moving it around when all of a sudden a waitress comes and grabs the tongs out of my hands not saying a word. Uhhhhhh should I say thank you or what the heck? I mean it would be polite if they said excuse me let me cook that for you and i’d happily give them the tongs instead of literally taking them out of my hands. It happened a couple of times but whatever. This place does gets packed so come early or make reservations if you can. I guess their service is quick so they can get people in and out. Will be back soon!

Great food and great service. Don’t come too late or you’ll have to stand in line for a long time but well worth it. Soups are done right and so are the Galbi, meat, and pork dishes. Family friendly which is a big plus.

Went here for AYCEKBBQ — not worth the price at $ 25.99 per person. Limited meat options compared to other places. The only meat you could cook for yourself(on a portable gas burner) are the brisket, ribeye, and pork belly; the ribs, bulgogi, spicy chicken and spicy pork are cooked for you in the kitchen and come out in a hot iron plate. All the meat were mediocre and not at all appetizing actually. Some of them were cold, so I think they pre-cook a lot of the items. For soup, you could only choice one option for the entire table, same goes for cheese corn vs. steamed eggs. Very limited banchan options, and they were not very fresh. Small and crowded restaurant, but the staff is nice.

Growing up in Fremont, I heard great things about Bob Sang since they were one of very few Korean restaurants in the area. I never got around to trying it when I lived there, that changed recently… after a couple decades and relocating to LA where Ktown is in the heart of the city. If I never had Korean food in LA, I would say this place was pretty good, however, that isn’t the case. The food is average and the prices are ABOVE average. I would go here if you were REALLLLLLLY craving Korean food.

Every time we want KBBQ we literally just come here. $ 25 per person but it’s totally worth. My family always gets the pre-made grilled all you can eat with the tofu soup and cheese corn. We do sometimes switch it up with the boiled egg too. But we love it here because they offer the galbi ribs. The service is sometimes good sometimes they ignore you. But if you come on a random weekday and a little bit earlier around 530, the service is great. The all you can eat Korean Bbb is sooooooo tasty. The first two times they come by and refill is awesome but then they start refilling the meats less and less. But it’s worth the money and you leave with a big smile on ya face. Definitely come here!!! Cause I’ll be coming here for a long time.

AYCEKBBQ — $ 25.99/person Every now & then I get together with my good friend, «Da Mui,» who usually picks the place… ‘Chinese guy and in his typical, penny pinching, frugal fashion, ends up picking two star restaurants and I’ve gone along for the ride a few times. His decision making process from highest to lowest is, «Price, price, then food. This time around, I took the helm & chose the venue, we ended up here @ Bob’s place.(In addition, most of the time when Mui picks the restaurant I leave wondering if I’ll be spending the rest of the day on the porcelain throne.) Store front — Mui & arrived around 6pm, the both of us were shown to a table rather quickly despite the restaurant being relatively crowded… ‘Before my butt hit the seat, «May we please have a large soju?»(Let the festivities begin!) Soju — Lee, our waitress was great, friendly, helpful, and great sense of humor… ‘Thank you for playing! Photo — Our AYCEKBBQ diiner: Banchan — Egg Hot Bowl — Tofu Hot Bowl — BBQ Short Ribs — Pork Belly — AYCE dinner($ 25.99×2) Soju($ 10) Total: $ 67.87(+ tip) The ticket — Overall, we had a good time! The food was good, the clientele a bit on the stuffed shirt side/uptight, our server, Lee was great as well. The price for AYCEKBBQ can usually ranges between $ 20 — $ 25 per person, the pricing @ Bob Sang’s is pretty standard. We came, we ate, we clogged our arteries! Photo — — Big Aloha! (3.5 stars) Binky and I came on a whim Saturday night for dinner — Binky had been here once before, and remembered enjoying the food. I was rather excited pulling into the parking lot — so many Asian options all around the center! Binky and I spent at least a good ten minutes sitting in the car, debating whether to try a different restaurant. Finally, we decided to go with the original plan — *eyes on the prize*. Restaurant was PACKED — there was one tiny table open, and we were seated almost immediately. Binky and I ordered the«Special Combo» with the raw meat, vegetable pancake, soft tofu, and steamed egg. After two seconds of taking away our menus, the waitress brought over the ban chan(small appetizers). After two more seconds, she brought over our food and our table was OVERFLOWING with millions of various dishes. The ban chan dishes were very small, but they gave us plenty of variety. I ADORED the kimchi(as did Binky) — sweet, spicy, nice shrimp flavor. Our waitress put our meat on the burner — all three types of meat we were provided were a little tough(perhaps we overcooked the meat a little). Coupled with the provided sauce, lettuce, rice, and added kimchi though, the meat tasted perfectly delicious(although messy). The side dishes provided with the meat were very impressive! The vegetable pancake was soft(not oily) and filled with a variety of colorful vegetables — really surprisingly enjoyed this. The tofu soup(sundubu) was soft, flavorful, rich, and very spicy — it was really nice drinking it after a full meal. The egg was soft and spongy, also cooked with an assortment of vegetables. I liked that the egg was not seasoned — it paired really well with the white rice. The japchae noodles were a little overcooked(not very springy) and tasted as though they had been sitting for quite a while. I think this was the only side dish we didn’t finish/take too go. Service was very quick and efficient — almost TOO quick and efficient. I see that Bob Sang has a lot of customers(there were also some waiting) but still, it’s not pleasant to feel rushed by our waitress. Everything was done with such speed(she kept cooking our meat for us even when it was clear we weren’t finished with the first round), we felt rather unwanted — almost like we were simply part of a factory turning customers in and out. Moreover, our waitress was very snippy about providing additional kimchi dishes. I do think we spent a fair amount of money at this restaurant — asking for more kimchi hardly seemed like an outrageous request. It seemed extremely petty to be so cold about a small dish of kimchi. Overall, the food itself is certainly above average. I can hardly remember the last time I enjoyed a restaurant’s kimchi and tofu soup as much as I did at Bob Sang. However, the waitresses made me feel so uncomfortable and so rushed, I may not come again.

I don’t know about other people, but I love Bob Sang’s «All You Can Eat Korean BBQ» for just $ 25.99! Seriously, that is all you need to know. Don’t bother coming for anything else. Their selection of meat is great quality, the pancakes are DELICIOUS, and service is awesome.

I made a reservation for Bob Sang last week and came in with a group of my friends before we made our way to San Jose for a showing of Star Wars. Since we were on a time crunch, we were watching our clocks. but lucky for us, the service was very quick and were able to get our waitresses’ attention easily. We had a large table for 8 people with a grill and overhead vent, but we didn’t actually get to use the grill. The AYCE option offered ready made dishes, such as kalbi ribs and spicy pork. For the pork belly, brisket, and rib eye, our waitress actually grilled the meat for us on a small table top grill across from our table. This was unexpected, but convenient for us. The overall consensus was that the kalbi ribs were the most flavorful, and of the appetizers, the japchae was the favorite. Not a bad price for the service and quality of meats — just $ 25 for all you can eat!

It used to be $ 19.99AYCE once upon a time, but has been bumped up to $ 24.99. :(Pretty pricy, but can be worth it if you plan on stuffing yourself! Came in with a party of 8. We called ahead and made a reservation, so a table was ready for us when we arrived. Which was good because even for a Tuesday night, the restaurant was packed and the two-three workers were definitely stretched thin. Like the Asians that we are, we tried our best to eat $ 25 worth of food each. For AYCE, you get unlimited meat, side dishes, choice of tofu soup or bean paste soup(only one choice per table), and an egg dish or corn/cheese dish(also only one choice per table). The chicken was so-so, but the beef short ribs, bbq beef, and spicy pork were pretty good. Service was OK. It could have been better, but understandably the waitresses were a little harried and difficult to get a hold of considering how many people they were tending to. AYCE meant they were constantly running around refilling dishes. Was a little difficult getting water and tea refills.

I’d give this place more like a 3.5 stars The biggest plus of the place for me is that the 25.99AYCE buffet offers unlimited beef ribs cooked from the kitchen. Many other kbbq place do not include beef short ribs as part of their all you can eat menu. In addition, beefs brisket and ribeye, pork belly, and kitchen prepared marinated chicken/beef/pork give an indulgence for carnivores like me. However, there are downsides. The bbq meat were served when they were still frozen. Also, the barbecue was served with a portable stove with a pan on the top. Which makes the meat more like pan-fried than barbecued. The beef brisket and ribeye we had were very tough and dry. It was a disappointment. I had been to this place several times previously, too. And It definitely showed a decrease in quality from about 2 years ago

I’ve had lunch takeout from this spot and the food is always so good. The lunch specials are a fantastic deal and range from 8.95−10.95 and comes with rice, kimchi, noodles, and a couple of other sides and your main meat dish. I would love to come here for dinner and try their all you can eat BBQ! Fast takeout service and great staff. I am very happy with this place so far.

I’m astonished this place is so highly rated. I came in with my husband and mother and they both got the flatfish and I ordered the mackerel. My fish was more bone than anything and I don’t mean pin bones that you can safely consume. After picking out ten bones from my first helping I gave up. The waitress came by and asked if everything was okay and I told her that it was more bone than fish and she laughed and then walked away. I suppose a $ 9 lesson isn’t that bad. Two stars since they liked the flatfish. We won’t be back.

I’m on the fence, I want to give this place 3.5 stars, but it’s closer to four stars, however I can’t over look some things I dealt with on my visit. I came here in the Spring time this year and never wrote a review. Let’s get down to it. This place is kinda small and could get claustrophobic since some of the tables have to put their grills right next to their table instead of on it cause there isn’t enough room for it on the table. We had eight people in our party and @ first we thought we were going to have five, so they put us @ a table right next to the wall, so it was small. I felt like the walls were going to close on me. Then it changed to 8. When we told the ladies about the change they immediately started talking to each other in Korean and you could tell they weren’t happy. I didn’t think that was right to do and very rude. Umm, sorry we thought those two people weren’t going to make it. Yeah, that added to my hangry-ness. But right after that when were seated @ our new table they became super nice again. I don’t like that. But that’s just me. The food was good. However if you come with a group of people say seven people(or more) and they all eat a lot, you of course have to cut down on your portion size so you have to get less @ one time and then you have to wait for the meats to cook, so then you eat up the side dishes cause you want everyone to get their share too. It kinda becomes annoying and you start to get hangry fast cuz you want to be polite about how much you take, but then you feel like your dying lol. So I feel this place is better for four people or less. We all got AYCE, and the lady even cut our meats for us and put it on the grill. That was cool since what happened earlier. We ordered hella meats lol. And had those side dishes kept coming. I was all over the veggie pancake! The tofu soup was good too, but I didn’t want to look like a pig since there was seven other people who had to eat too. So once again having more people was not good. Overall, I really enjoyed this place. They even gave us a candy @ the end. It was really good. I hope to come back. And plus now that it’s becoming Winter season, this is a good place to stay warm @.

Service is a 5 star for sure! The food I would say a 4 since I only really like the short ribs. My family and I came here on a Saturday for dinner. Four of us did the all you can eat, which was $ 25 for an adult and $ 13 for children. Let’s just say we did not eat enough! The all you can eat comes with endless meats cooked at your table, endless already cooked short ribs, cooked chicken beef and pork, a choice of either miso soup or tofu soup, eggs or cheese corn(not really sure what that is exactly!), Korean pancakes and of course the side dishes! I loved the short ribs. It was seasoned perfectly and cooked nicely. It was tender and with every bite you get that grilled flavor. It went great with rice and the side dishes or just on its own. The server was super nice and knew right away when to bring us more food. We didn’t really have to ask and she would come by our table to pick up the plates. What I didn’t like was how we literally had to clear everything before we got new food. So for our kimchi, every single piece had to be eaten before a new plate was brought. I mean come on. It was one small piece! Also, if you have other guests who did not do the all you can eat, they are not allowed to touch the meat, pancakes, or soup! They were pretty strict about that. My mom had a taste of the soup and the lady came to tell us to stop right away. Overall, it was a good experience. The wait wasn’t too long and you can call to reserve as well! Which I thought was pretty nice since a lot of places do not allow that. I might just try to eat during lunch next time. I definitely did not eat my $ 25 worth of ayca.

Tried out Bob Sang that’s in the strip mall near McDonald’s on Cushing Pkwy/Fremont Blvd. It’s on my way home and close to my brother’s place so we decided to meet up for dinner. He’s been before, it was my first time. He recommended the AYCE for $ 25.99 because you can get unlimited food and lots of variety, if you just get the regular stuff from the rest of the menu you can only eat that one dish or pay way more for other dishes. You can get AYCE if you have 2 or more person, so a solo person can’t do it. You can get Unlimited raw meat that you cook. We didn’t get it because we didn’t want to cook and watch the meat, we just did the already cooked for us meats. 9 banchans and one includes japchae — I liked the japchae and the fish cakes. Corn Cheese or Steamed Egg — I picked corn cheese, tasted just ok, not cheesy for me more like corn and mayo & onions. Tofu soup or bean paste stew — I picked tofu soup– it’s just one that you share. we got medium spice — broth tasted strange to me, but I liked the tofu. Cooked meats: chicken, beef, short ribs, and spicy pork — i liked the spicy pork the best. Got 2nd plate of short ribs. I found short ribs thin, little meat, some bones, some fat. One bowl of rice per person — tasted ok Veggie pancake — brother likes it, I found it chewy and thin, tasted ok. You can get unlimited if you want. We got another plate. Overall, just ok. Might be good with a group of 4 – 5 people. Hrs: Mon Closed Tues-Th 11 – 9:30pm(Break time 3−5pm Tues-Fri) Fri-Sat 11−10pm Sun 4 – 9:30pm
