I’ve been getting my haircut by Alex since before he had his shop, Alex has that professional and classic touch, makes you feel welcomed and just an overall good environment at his shop. Personally I go to Alex because he already knows how I like my cut, but all the barbers in there get down!

It’s my first time here and they are accommodating to me and to other costumers. Favian was the one who cut my hair and really did well! They will ask and listen to you what kind of hairstyle that you want and they will do it exactly or even more better! I really recommend this shop to all ages. Definitely coming back!

Customer service at its finest; along with great work! First time in today for a walk in, if you can make an appointment but it wasn’t that crazy of a wait and everyone let me know what was going on.
All the barbers were joking around and having a great time, plus the customers were all getting in on the fun too; all that mixed with the best haircut/​trim I’ve ever had means I’ll be coming back often!

Hands down, Alex’s is the best barbershop.
With the three originals there: Alex (the owner), Fabian, and Chris — these 3 are pure artists with what they do with some clippers, liners, scissors, and the rest of the tools in their arsenals to help everyone of all ages look fresh and dapper.
Chris has been my barber for years now. I don’t trust anyone except for him. And if there is ever a case that he’s not able to give me my usual haircut, I wouldn’t mind getting it done by Alex or Fabian. After all, I always see the work they do on their happy clients!
This place is extremely busy so be sure to make an appointment! They’re so busy and growing so fast that they’ve added two more barbers and just added a 6^th chair to possibly add another barber later on.
The shop has that old school barbershop feel and the guys are all awesome and easy to chat with. There’s two TVs to keep those waiting entertained — sometimes even those in the chair!
Definitely recommend this spot. Truly the best barbershop out there!!!

My boyfriend loves vintage madmen haircuts. His current barber was too out of the way in Oakland, so we decided to try this place out for a change since it’s much closer to us.
We went on a Tuesday around 11:00AM, so there was only 1 walk-​in barber and already 9 people before us on the list to see him. Definitely expected the crowd after reading the Unilocal reviews, so it was no problem. We ran errands and came back. He was seated around 2:30 and was finished in good time.
We were expecting to pay $ 40, but They only charged $ 20 — super cheap! Usually clean-​cut vintage haircuts cost way more, and he cleaned up his beard too, so it was really a great price. Joe did a great job overall. It looks perfect! We’re super happy and stoked for finding this spot in Fremont. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Handsdown the best barber shop I have ever been too! All barbers here have cut countless heads and have years of experience they are magicians that can do anything. I have been coming here for years now. I always cut my hair with Chris and book appointments in advance with him. but i can sit in any chair and get cut from any barber in this shop and know without a doubt that I will walk out with a good haircut. Their haircut prices may seem a bit pricey but you will definitely get what you pay for. Word of advice This shop is always busy on walk in days so if you dont feel like waiting 2 hrs for a haircut book an appointment!

If you are looking for men’s haircuts in the bay you have to go here. By far the best. I have paid all different amounts up to 60 dollars for a simple haircut out here in CA and none can beat the service you would find here.
Everytime I had to switch stylists, I was googling «Men’s hair East bay» and finally saw Alex’s on my last search. So glad I finally checked them out, after I told my friends and coworkers where I got my hair done at they all knew guys that went to Alex’s too.
The décor of the place is like a classic barber shop which is cool. I never know my free days off for work because it’s constantly changing so I’m always a walk in here. The trick is to come in the morning on a week day if you can. The later in the day and you can wait for hours so just be aware, or make an appointment (Just dont be a flake). You should never get mad for the wait because it’s worth it. The guys will not rush through you and mess up your hair either, they make sure everything is right.

Since I started dating my boyfriend, This barber shops clientele has grown so much. It is advised to make appointments over the week than going for walk-​ins on Saturday, the wait is up to almost 2hrs. Thee barbers are awesome and so is the atmosphere.
Don’t forget to tip your barber :) lol.

My boyfriend usually goes to SF (22^nd & Mission) to get his hair cut done but lately the guy has been MIA so we opted out to seeing if we could find anything out here in Fremont. Luckily we found Alex’s barber shop. Kind of in the cuts, but overall great service. Took us a 2 times to get squeezed in only because they are always hella busy.
Thankfully we were able to schedule an appointment with Chris on a Tuesday morning. Note to self: make an appointment, it’s worth doing rather than waiting for lord knows how long.
Chris was able to execute what my boyfriend wanted (his hair was like a chia pet after 3 weeks of not having time to cut it) and took his time to do so. He started on time & finished on a timely manner! They even had the Sauvecito Pomade we wanted. Although my eyes bugged out after my boyfriend paid $ 70 for the bigger size but that was the least of my worries!
In the end, my boyfriend was happy so yes, now we have found a barber we can trust! Thank you Chris!

Got some of my haircuts here and it’s truly a great experience. The service is above par, barbers are super nice, and waiting is not a pain with the TV on. Although the line gets very long, this can easily be avoided if you go early or call in an appointment.

Man moved here from Virginia my cousin told me this is the spot in Fremont to get a cut from. I went in and he told me to ask for fabi I went in and did. I went in on Saturday and waited a good 2 hours if not 3 I texted my cousin but he told me it’s worth the wait. The wait was worth it I get a nice fade and taper and a solid line up. Totally lives up to it’s name and all the glowing reviews. Alex’s is a truly refreshing find. Don’t tell anyone. Now that I found it, I’d like to keep it a secret. ;-) Oops, too late for that. :-) Not a «uppity’, or fancy place (kind of a hole in the wall location — no offense meant), but these guys are Pro’s. Old style quality with a cool, laid back atmosphere. They do take walk-​ins, (thank you) but from now on I’ll try to make an appointment as they were non-​stop busy when I was there and my guess is that this is the norm. Today, my barber was JR. Update for clarification, I’ve been getting my cut here for almost a year and there are a couple of pieces of information that I should add.
Still the best Barbers in the East Bay. No question. Only thing you should worry about is the wait. The wait can exceed 3 hours, this is not an exaggeration. To give you an idea I have arrived in the morning, written my name on their list (25^th), gone home, ate lunch, cleaned the house, showered, washed my car, and returned to still have a 30 minute wait (Do not miss your turn, if your name is called twice and you fail to hear your name on both occasions you will be cut from the list). Also WARNING the shop does have specific closing times, but they will stop accepting individuals if the wait list has become too long. Come in early, leave early.

I was visiting the family in the tri-​city area and was in dire need of a haircut. It was time to loose the locks… It was time to get chopped, back to basics, short sides, easy maintenance, simple. I did a quick Unilocal*search and found Alex’s Classic Barber Shop & Shaves with a solid 4 ½ star rating.

After browsing through the photos, I thought, «Awesome! A place that does classic, clean cuts… ‘And not only specializing in what I can only describe as «head topiary.» (i.e. — Bushes/​hedges shaped into elephants, bears, etc.) I can appreciate the art of advertising your name, the Nike «Swish,» or even your favorite football team’s logo BUT I’d rather have it on a jersey and not my noggin… ‘Because after a week or so, that’s just gonna look like some an organic collection of dust bunnies slapped on the side of your head. (However, if that’s your thing, they’re got you covered here too.)
I walked in just after 3:30pm and was fortunate enough to make the «cut.» (No pun intend but I’ll take it.) Being that the shop shuts down @ 6pm, Joe who was taking walk-​in clients had to start turning away customers due to the fact that there were 2 guys already ahead of me on the sign-​in sheet.

It is best to try & make an appointment. As I was listening to the incoming phone calls, 1 – 2 two weeks in advance seemed to be the norm. Also, please respect these guys’ time… Don’t be that @sshole that does a «no-​show.» This place is pretty busy and if you want them to respect the time they set aside for specifically for you by holding a time slot, do the same. This is their livelihood, this is how they make their living… ‘Don’t be that d*ck. If I was Alex, I would set up «no-​show log book» of repeat offenders and like baseball, three times you’re out. I’m not talking about 24 hr advance notice cancellations BUT no call, no text, no fax bulls*t and just like Seinfed’s Soup Nazi, «NO CUT FOR YOU! Come back one year!!» So be it!

The overall vibe, laid back, no pretentious attitudes, just four barbers doing a great job. So, on that note, if you’re used to getting your @ss kissed or one to strut around with a pompous air of self-​entitlement, just keep driving. No one is going to offer you a Perrier or espresso here, this is NOT that kinda place. This is a classic, no frills, old school neighborhood barber shop minus the old guys. If you’re too uptight to handle a bit of swearing, off-​color jokes, and maybe an f-​bomb or two, you may want to make that appointment @ Super Cuts. After all, how can you not like a place that has «Total Recall» playing on the flat screen. (I’m referring to the 1990 sci-​fi hit featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone, not the 2012, Colin Farrell knock-​off.) If I lived in the area, this would be a top contender for my go-​to shop for a haircut.
I had about a 40 minute wait until Joe called me over to the chair and when he was finished, I was happy. I’m not a huge, lots of product in my hair kinda guy but that’s how they do it here… ‘And when in Rome, I roll like the Romans. It’s what I kind’ve expected as the end result and it was no surprise. (If you take a look @ the Unilocal*photos, you’ll know what I mean, that pomade, slicked back, ol’ school look.) Joe used Johnny B, «mode» Styling Gel, gel rather than pomade. My hair isn’t too hard to style hence the gel versus the pomade.

Alex’s Barber Shop has some of the best barbers around! This place can handle any type of haircut you need, and if you don’t know what you want, they will still make you look clean and fresh! Make an appt., or you’ll wait awhile, but it will definitely be worth the wait! Make sure and hit up my boy Chris @cleancutsbychris he will take care of you!

I’ve been coming to Alex’s for about 5 – 6 months now and it is just amazing how much their customer base has grown and how consistent they’re cuts are!
Word of precaution: if you are planning to do a walk-​in, expect to wait at least 45 mins+ because this place is super popular. My word of advice would be to just call ahead of time and schedule an appointment.
Like I said before, this place has grown tremendously popular and I have to schedule my appointments a week ahead of time. Keep this in mind before you plan to schedule an appointment.
I usually schedule my appointments with Chris because I got my first cut by him and I have never been more satisfied. His fades and tapers are on point and he is a chill dude. It’s never dull or awkward coming into this barbershop and the friendly atmosphere makes the experience much more enjoyable. I’ve tried many other barbers such as Don’s, KJ’s, and Prince’s which are all located in Fremont; however, Alex’s has suited me the best.

I just swung by yesterday for the first time in almost 2 years, and wow it’s great to come back here! I lived in San Francisco for a bit before moving back to the east bay, and my barber in the city left while the shop decided to up its prices. While living across the bay, I wouldn’t have been able to do appointments here, nor be able to wait as a walk-​in.
Anyway, fast forward to yesterday morning. I showed up about 5 minutes after opening, and the place is near packed! I was about 8^th in line on the list, and left for a bit to run errands in order to kill time. The shop still looks great. When I was here last, the back wall had the bar counter and an old school register, but now it’s replaced with a couple near barber seats, and at least a couple TVs on the wall. I’ve also read that Alex has as many as 4 barbers working now, so that’s great especially since this barbershop is pretty darn popular now.
Took about an hour and a half until I was finally called, but also having a couple people ahead of me choosing to wait for Alex helped. Joe did an amazing job, and he was very thorough in making sure I got a great haircut. Overall, my haircut lasted maybe about 40ish minutes.
I strongly advise you to book an appointment on Tuesday or Thursday (about a week in advance), or at least show up about 15 – 20 minutes before opening as a walk-​in. Regardless, just don’t come here if you are in a crunch for time. You’re getting a great haircut by folks who really care about making you look good, so it will take a little more time. Plus, the rates are fair.
Really glad to see Alex’s shop thriving even more. Keep it up!

I go every 2 weeks and Fabian cuts my hair, but all the guys are pros. Best combination of good price and quality in the Fremont area. If you’re a guy and live nearby, this is an easy choice.
