Luby’s style come in and get your food. Great food. All home made. Had the grilled chicken with grilled shrimp. Chicken was perfect and the shrimp was good size. I’ll definitely be back.

This place is very nice for lunch. Advice is to get there early as those from Dow Chemical crowd the place :) Like one of the other reviewers said the King Ranch chicken and the Fried Fish are the best items on the menu. I would have to agree. I am not sure what kind of fish it is, but the way it is prepared is just right. The Pico and cheese sauce are a nice touch. Desserts are good as well. Portions are just right and the prices are great for the quality you get. It is «Good»,

Loved this place while I worked in Freeport. Cafeteria style lunch, with a seafood/​cajun feel. Lots of people liked the fried fish, but my personal favorite was the seafood fettucinne. Definitely recommend this place for a good, quick meal.
Just fyi, they’re usually only open during lunch hours.

Talk about good is a cafeteria style lunch spot in Freeport. The price is a little high for lunch in the area but the food is spot on.
When you walk in grab a tray and head to the counter. They have no problem giving you a lunch plate with two half portions. For your first time that’s definitely what I’d recommend.
As for the food the best items on the menu by far are the King Ranch casserole and the fried fish. Now this is going to sound really weird but the fish comes with pico and cheese on it. I know cheese on fish is breaking a foodie rule but trust me it just works.
You also get two sides of your choice, veggies, rice, or beans. My favorite is the greens and the cabbage.
As you make your way to the end of the counter and your plate is stuffed with food you will see the case with the cake display. The cakes here are the bomb and you don’t want to miss them. They have strawberry, chocolate, and hummingbird cake. Strawberry and hummingbird are the way to go.
Great place for lunch, great place to have cater events in the area.
