It’s winter… that doesn’t mean one has to do away with food cart… Li’s Chinese Express moved indoors again this season to 51 West St. More selection, same price, and a place to sit indoors!

Mrs. Li has some of the most authentic Chinese food around! I loved her offerings at her stand on Bow St., but now that she’s at Li’s Place on West St. she has broadened her menu… aren’t we thrilled! Her homemade dumplings are fantastic and so much better than the commercially bought dumplings that most restaurants offer.
Her wonton soup is excellent as well. You can get the traditional which is perfect for a winter’s day, or get the Sichuan version to kick it up. The soups are huge, so prepare your stomachs accordingly. We just had to get her famous Lo mein, but needed to wrap it up to go after a bowl of soup and shared dumplings.
Mrs. Li and Peter are very kind and gracious hosts who prove, yet again, that a few things done very, very well will keep us coming back for more!

Li’s Express now has a restaurant on West St. in Freeport! (51 West St., Freeport).
The same excellent food but now there are table and chairs in which you can enjoy your meals. Peter (dad), Li (mom) and Alex (son) runs the small, quaint eatery.
Their menu also expanded now includes won ton soup, brocolli stir fry etc. (see picture menu).
Support this great local business! So glad that we can now get your great food year round!

I have to admit I was a little wary when a friend suggested this place and then I saw it for the first time. A food cart on the side of the road? Well, it was FANTASTIC!!! I’m so glad we went here. The two guys working were very friendly and they prepare your meals on the spot. There are no premade meals that they scoop out and serve. They make it on a wok right in front of you.
