Specialties

We strive to create a warm and friendly café that reminds you of home cooking. We prepare all of our food from scratch using fresh ingredients and family recipes.

Next time you’re in Freeport, stop on by for breakfast, lunch, and of course one of our famous sticky buns!

History

Established in 2013.

A long time feature of Freeport, Maine, Isabella’s Café has recently come under new ownership by Caite Maynard. Caite has worked in the food industry for over 40 years; she is renowned for her baking, soup, and her attention to customer service.

Isabella’s Café now focuses on fresh food made by hand, using locally-sourced ingredients and family recipes; breakfast and lunch are available all day, and Caite’s passion for baking results in a bakery case filled with delicious items from cookies, muffins, and scones, and the homemade sticky bun bread pudding is not to be missed!

Meet the Business Owner

Caite M.

Business Owner

Caite Maynard has worked in the food industry for over 40 years. She honed her baking abilities at Fiddlehead Farm Café where she was the assistant to the head pastry chef. Later, she joined Stone Soup in the Portland Public Market. While there, she crafted award winning soup (Best of Portland 1999 & 2005) and four star café fare.

In August of 2006, Caite became one of the owners of Stones Grove Restaurant in North Yarmouth. In 2007 the name was changed to Stones Café and was featured in the Community Leader as a great new eatery. Stones Café was also named in the top 50 places to eat in Maine by Down East Magazine, as well as receiving a 4 ½ star review in the Portland Press Herald.

In 2013 Caite purchased Isabella’s Sticky Buns Café in Freeport, Maine. The new focus of Isabella’s is great attention to detail, fresh food and ingredients, and a superior customer experience. She’s looking forward to this new opportunity to serve Maine’s visitors and the greater Freeport community.
