On Memorial Day, my family and I decided we wanted to get crabs. We started looking around and found Charlies Crab House was the closest place that was open. We called and they informed us that they were going fast so we asked if we could reserve a bushel. They allowed us to so we drove from Midland to Fredricksburg(took us about 25 – 30 minutes) to pick up our bushel of crabs. It was $ 140 for a bushel which I didn’t think was bad, but I have also never bought this many crabs! I can honestly say that was the best $ 140 we ever spent! We had so many crabs, they were so fresh, so delicious! I now know where I will be buying my crabs from! Thank you Charlies Crab House for letting us conveniently reserve a bushel on such a busy day. We will be back :)

Here we go again, crabs! Like most red blooded, beer drinkin Americans, I enjoy cold beer and crabs from time to time. This place is near my Aunt and Uncles place so we grabbed a half bushel on a nice October Sunday and chilled out with some crabs and a brew. The half was $ 50 for #1 males and they weren’t too bad. They actually said they were«mixed» size after a phone order and most were good size and heavy to medium weight. I would definitely go back. This is a family owned business and the owners who oversee the front counter were very nice. Just waiting for the crabs and chatting gave me a «Small Town, Down Home» feeling. To complete the country feeling they only accept cash, no credit cards or checks. This was no problem because I happened to have cash on me but this usually isn’t the case. This could have gone wrong easily because I didn’t know where the closest bank was and even if I did the crabs would have been getting cold while I was in route. With that aside, I give a 4 of 5 stars. «Do yourself a favor, get some crabs today.» LOL
