Beads On Parade

I’ve been frequenting this bead shop for a few years and didn’t think to write a review until now. I am just so glad that there is at least one beading shop in Fredericksburg!
Good selection of seed beads, crystals (including Preciosa and Swarovski), Czech fire polished beads, stone beads, etc. They also have some glass pearls, some Thunder polish crystals, wooden beads, lots of chip beads, lots of findings, and some buttons. They also have tables where you can buy just one bead if you wanted — perfect for small projects like earrings.
I’ve been to a couple of free classes here and I enjoyed them. You get a discount on your bead purchases on the day you take a class! (I think it has to be a paid class but I’m not sure.) During last December, they had a lot of free classes and you can go in and take any one of them at any time! I thought that was quite awesome! They have a display area of jewelry that they make in their classes. I love admiring the jewelry! Their website also has lots of pictures of their jewelry classes.
They sometimes have promotions. One time you had to be the first 10 or 20 customers in the shop to get a discount off your whole purchase. Awesome! And you can earn points and get $$$ off your purchase after you reach a certain amount.
I usually always am greeted when I come into the shop. On weekends, they get busier with their classes. The staff are friendly and will ask if you need help most of the time.
At times they take a while to restock their items. In that case, I get impatient and just order the stuff I need online. They do get new stuff periodically, which is nice because I like to browse and touch the beads.
Prices are quite reasonable. And actually, I’ve compared preciosa crystal prices between Beads on Parade and Joann’s Fabric across the street. Beads on Parade was cheaper and still cheaper when Joann’s has a 30% off sale.

This Place is HORRIBLE!!! I hate them completely. This is the second time that I have tried to come to this establishment to get service, and they have failed on a GARGANTUAN scale. Each time I have come into this business, I am never greeted by anyone who is running the place, the owner or staff is usually sitting at a work table with a bunch of other over priveleged HOT FLASHING BIDDIES!!! making their decorative jewelry, so that they can feel as IF they have accomplished something while their husbands are out slaving away at jobs to pay for their useless escapades. Well, the style of Beads that they carry is Kmart or mortuary fair at best… I have always come to that place in hopes to score some cool beads, and I have been willing to spend good cash! but their beads are CRAP-​TACULAR… its beads for the Elderly!!! They are going to close soon, because they SUCK! BOTTOM LINE!!! dont go, dont spend your money, what a waste of my time. Even when I left, the Byotch never even said good bye or thanks for stopping by!!! I work to hard for my cash! and I wont give it to these Tea Hat Wearing, Hot Flashing, Cammomile swilling BYOTCHES!!!
