Vinny’s Towing & Recovery

Had to get my car towed tonight. Charlie showed up and actually took the time to try and diagnose the problem. Nice guy and I could tell he really cared about what he did. Wanted to make sure that by moving my vehicle it didn’t do more damage. He realized that if he didn’t get it off the ground, and isolate all the wheels, it could have done permanent damage. He had some slick wheel carriers and moved it to my garage of choice. No muss no fuss.

This morning I foolishly got out of my car without taking it out of gear and my car rolled over a curb and got stuck in the mud with just the rear tires on the pavement. I called GEICO, my insurance company, where I have included road service on my policy. They took my information and had a tow truck dispatched from Vinny’s. They told me that the truck would arrive within 30 minutes. Well, the truck was 3 or 4 minutes EARLY (very impressive)! The operator, Charlie, was polite, professional and extraordinarilly careful with my car. He took his time surveying the situation, figuring out the best way to get my car out without causing any damage. It took Charlie about 25 minutes to get my car out but he did it well and caused no damage to my car. I never knew that towing (or recovering, as he told me my situation was) is such a detailed process. I must say that I was very impressed with Vinny’s getting a truck to me quickly. I was also very impressed with the way the operator, Charlie, handled himself and the job he had to do for me. I would recommend this service to anyone in the Frederick, MD area whenever you have a problem with your car. In fact, should I need a tow operator again, when I call my insuraance company I will request that they send someone from Vinny’s (hopefully Charlie).

Excellent experience. JR, driver from Vinny’s Towing, showed up within two hours after a call was made to a local mechanic (which called them on my behalf since my car wasn’t operable). He called when he was about ½ hour away from my house to give me a heads up and upon arrival, he worked quickly and carefully. It’s always nice when you get a smile and friendly service too.

I don’t know what Melissa did to get her car «involuntarily» towed, but Vinny’s did a great job for me! I needed to get my BMW roadster towed about a half mile to a repair shop where I had the battery replaced. Vinny’s responded to my call within 5 minutes. The tow technician was polite and very professional. He took great care getting my car loaded onto the truck, making sure everything was secure before getting underway. The cost was covered by my auto club membership, so I didn’t have the same experience as poor old Melissa. But then again, mine was a totally voluntary tow job.

I’d give them 0 stars if I could.
I didn’t have much of a choice when it came to going to Vinny’s. My car was towed there. The next day, I called them to find out how much it was going to cost to get my car out. They quoted, both verbally and in writing, that it would cost $ 475 to get my car out as long as I did it before the next day at 5 pm.
I then received a call from them informing me that I had been misquoted and demanding $ 50 more. No reason was given, they just needed more money to be able to release my car. I guess it is nice to take advantage of people whose hands are tied.
I must say I didn’t much appreciate their «kick you when you’re down» style of business and I don’t believe you will either. It is highly unprofessional to misquote fees for services rendered. I can only hope they have a great time with the extra money they shook out of me. (Couple of 24 packs and a block party, anyone?)

These guys were fast, professional and thorough. They called to make sure I still needed them, let me know when they could get to me, got to me in the time they said, took care of my car and got me on my way. I highly recommend them!
