I was visiting Fredrick with my dog and we found Paws in the City– great food and treat selection– especially for the discerning dog owner that wants to feed their pet the best. The owners are super nice, and gave Eli, my dog several yummy samples. Bonus– they are NY Giant fans! I wholeheartedly recommend a visit.

Love this place! A locally owned business with amazing owners! They cater to their customers needs… if they don’t have something you want in store, they’ll usually order it for you. We make it a frequent stop! Love love love!

This is a great store, I cannot say enough good things about it. The owners are awesome and have brought back the welcoming spirit that used to exist when Alison owned the store several years ago. The owners are active in, and support, the local community. My dog has a slght addiction to the Bare Bites that they sell. If you’re in Downtown Frederick be sure to stop in, and if you’re not in Downtown Frederick this store is reason enough to come and visit.

This place is great. It’s local, the owners are awesome, and they carry all the good stuff including Bare Bites. I’ve been taking my dog here for years to be groomed by Barbara. My dog has never been happier!

So very excited to have a independent pet store back in Frederick. Bonus is that it’s downtown!
The shelves are fully stocked with all the good stuff– Earth Dog leashes and collars (our favorite), Mendota, no smell bully sticks, etc.
There’s a myth about boutique pet supply stores– that they are more expensive– that’s just not true. In fact, my dog food is $ 5 less a bag here than it is at Valu Pet, a chain across town. It feels good to shop local, support a family business AND pay less. It’s a no-​brainer for us.
The store is colorful and fun with great service. Dog are of course welcome, and there’s always a few in here. If you’re not a dog person, there’s lots of things for your feline friends, too.
If you’re a pet owner in Frederick, check here first before you head over to a chain store– not only is the merchandise the same cost (sometimes less) but you won’t find higher quality toys and treats in the area.
