I’ve never been disappointed after eating or ordering carryout from this place. Staff is good and service is pretty fast

First off, all pizza reviews are relative and not fair to compare pizza down here with places like New York or Boston(where I’m from and where pizza is superior to most of what is served around here). Nevertheless, J&P is pretty good stuff, well worth a try. And you can’t beat the price. Hard to describe pizza, fairly basic, fresh, nothing spectacular, just a place I’ll visit often in the new neighborhood. Plus the staff is really friendly. Tastes even better the next day reheated in a toaster oven.

I made a reservation at this restaurant because I needed a place that could accommodate 6 people for dinner and I am so glad that I did. The ambiance of this site is calm and peaceful. The portion sizes are AMAZING. I ordered a small 12′ cheese pizza and it was six large slices! The Waiter we had was very conscientious, repeated the order to make sure it was right, made sure we were all comfortable and gracious. The pizza I had reminded me of ‘home’ NYC… just as good if not even a little better. I highly recommend that you try New York J and P Pizza for yourself.

Spring Ridge love… If you are used to the J&P name this location is by far my favorite one! Very nice dinning room seating and very quick carry out service. Look on their web site to find current specials and coupons(e.g save $ 3 on a large pizza). The Old Bay wings are above average and so is the creamy alfredo pizza, yum! They also have a wide range of tasty desserts at the front counter, double yum. If you live in the New Market/Linganore area this is definitely a nice alternative and still only a short drive away, gold star!

It isn’t the best pizza I’ve ever had, but it is hard to compare to actual pizza from New Jersey/New York. Still, for Frederick, J&P is alright by me. Their customer service is solid, their prices aren’t outlandish, and I’ve had a couple of things off of their menu and they’ve all been pretty good. Folks at the bar are really nice. I will say their pasta dishes are just«ok». I don’t think I’d order any pasta dishes from there again. It isn’t that they’re bad, I just think their sandwiches and pizza are much better.

We happened to be in the area so I decided to give the steak and cheese a try. It was good but not at all great. The banana peppers were a nice twist though and gave the sub a tang of sorts. I wish a smaller size was on the menu because there’s no way I was gonna finish the 10″ sub! The French fries were bland and I only ate a handful. Staff was nice.

This was my first time trying this J&R Pizza. Almost immediately, I’ve noticed is that they speak Italian which is always a good sign. I didn’t go in for the actual restaurant as they have a separated closed off area outside for ordering. But from I saw it looked pretty warm and inviting. Ordered a 10″ prosciutto for $ 10. But due to the location and the lack of my pizza warmer bag, I’m going to have to base this review off eating it at a bench at the airport. First thing I will comment on is the presentation. The pizza was covered in huge strips of prosciutto; the largest I have ever seen. It hid the basil that was underneath. Second thing I noticed was the cheese. Sadly, the cheese was not as impressive looking. In fact, it looked like the cheese on the pizza one would have been served in a high-school cafeteria or an Elio’s frozen pizza. However, after tasting it, I will note, it was a higher grade mozzarella than what I’m use to, and suspect it just didn’t melt enough. Now for the taste. While watching a pair of Snoopy blimps at the airport, I went after that pizza like a Japanese tentacle monster after a sixteen year old school girl. and, I will have to admit, it was pretty damn good, better than I expected, but then again, four star Unilocal average should have prepared me for that. The cheese was again much better than the usual Food Pro shredded cheese and am guessing it was sliced. the basil was a also a nice touch that went well with the monster slices prosciutto; this is how much prosciutto should be on a pizza. As for the sauce, I gathered it was canned, but was of the sweeter canned paste that I preferred though a tad watery. Then again, maybe all the ingredients were FoodPro, and the fact that this place simply did a decent job of cooking it, and add in the basil and prosciutto, just masked the rest up too. I can’t say for sure, and while I can be hard on restaurant supply ingredients, they can be quite well, if prepared correctly on a pizza. Regardless, I liked this pizza. So, with that said, it’s likely, I will try another pizza here again sometime, it’s a bit far for me from where I live in the county, but I would make the extra ten mile drive to sample another pie.

My wife and I moved to the Frederick area last year, and naturally, the first thing we went in search of was the best pizza joint in the area. Our search quickly ended when we found J&P Pizza in Spring Ridge. If you’re all about the deep dish, this isn’t the place for you. Their New York style pizza is full of flavor with the right balance of cheese, sauce, and dough. Even though we eat there at least a couple times a month, we don’t really deviate much from the pizza, but we have heard great things about the pasta. No matter what, J&P is the place to go for pizza!

We ordered a pizza from New York J & P about six weeks ago and I wish I would have written a review the next day, because I honestly can’t remember much about it. I can tell you that the place was CRAZY busy when we went to pick it up. They certainly aren’t hurting for business. I waited in the car while my boyfriend went in and over the course of about five minutes I must have seen thirty different groups of people go in. I remember remarking that it tasted like cafeteria pizza and it had a TON of cheese on it. I’m not kidding; each slice weighed about three pounds. Not bad but, as unmemorable as it was, I don’t think we’ll be getting it again. 2.5 stars

I can’t believe no one has written rave reviews about this restaurant yet! It’s in a seemingly run-of-the-mill shopping center, but step inside and you’ll find that it’s very special. The atmosphere is very nice, with nice moldings and colors. Very relaxing and inviting. The white pizza is amazing, topped with broccoli and tomatoes. The spinach lasagna tastes fresh and in general, the portions are very big. This is the best New York J&P location, hands down.

Without a doubt the best pizza joint in Frederick, and perhaps the best pizza I’ve ever had. Well, it’s the best I’ve had for this style pizza. Out of all the pizza in the world, Gino’s East in chitown takes the cake for the best pie in my book. But that’s deep dish and this NY style, so apples and oranges here people. Anyway, I don’t think we need to say much here besides this pizza rocks. The sauce, the flavors, the crust… me gusta!
