Holiday Inn Frederick-Conf Ctr At Fsk Mall

This place was great for our trip to Frederick. The room was cheap, clean and accommodating. The bed was comfy but could have had a firmer mattress. Plan to take an Über if you go out as the hotel is on the outskirts of town. We will definitely stay here again.

Very old hotel. The plumbing is awful. You need to flush 5 times the toilet. Gross!
In general clean but definitely very outdated.
It’s also hidden on the side of a mall. This facility has MAJOR water issues with leaks. They seem very busy trying to move guests from room to room and putting towels to avoid water running through the hallways. The ceiling of rooms are leaking so bad that the carpets get soaked and water running everywhere. Huge flooding issues due to ceiling leaks on the first floor! I cannot imagine the issues on the second floor.
This is not a Holiday Inn standard. Not even close to a Holiday Inn Express. There are much better choices around. Avoid at all cost!

The pool was the highlight of this trip. This property is in need of a facelift. So outdated. Jacuzzi was broken Noticed there were several other hotels in the area, if you have flexibility go elsewhere.

Lots of better choices in area. I’m giving it 2 stars instead of one because the front desk people were great. The room was smelly, the a/​c took all day to cool the room down, the alarm clock didn’t work, but more importantly there was only one outlet available to plug our phones into. Do not recommend.

I agree with reviews on here. There are many better choices in the area than this rather outdated, very mediocre hotel.

Close to shopping and restaurants
Remnants of the old Holidome with stuff for kids (pool, putt putt, ping pong, halls to run in)
Cons:
Bad internet service
Checked in at 3pm and room wasnt ready. No call when it was ready.
No elevator, but luggage carts?
Room service waitress did not understand what grilled chicken was.
First floor reeks of chlorine due to indoor pool. People have weddings here!
Exterior doors dont work well with room key.
Needs a good overall.

Stayed in a poolside dog-​friendly room in June 2015
Main reason for 2 stars is that the experience should have been way better for the amount we paid. If this had been a Motel 6, the negatives would have been more palatable.
Pros:
— Large mini fridge in the room along with a microwave and Keurig coffee maker
— Indoor pool would be nice in the winter
— Activities include indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna (men’s and women’s) small fitness center, small mini golf (if you can really call it that)
— Free wifi, no password (wifi is decent)
— Decent location near mall and lots of restaurants
— Two restaurants on the premises
Pet pros:
— Pet policy is looser than other places I’ve stayed (no rules about leaving pets unattended in room or not being on furniture; however, housekeeping will only come if you are there or pet is in a cage)
Cons:
— Terrible check in experience– room was not ready at check in time; we were told it would be 20 minutes and they would call my cell when the room was ready; forgot to call us until we came back 30 minutes later; did not offer us anything for our trouble until we asked to speak to the manager (who discounted the pet fee after we complained)
— Poolside rooms are right along the edge of the indoor activities area which is VERY LOUD. Because it’s indoor, the noise echoes loudly and it is clearly the go-​to spot for lots of loud kids.
— One of the two restaurants was closed for a private function
Pet cons:
— Pet fee is inaccurately stated on website and when we made the reservation over the phone (is actually $ 20 per night fee but stated elsewhere as a $ 35 deposit)
— Depending on where your room is, it is not as convenient to take your dog out, especially from the 2^nd floor. Hallways are long to get to entrance/​exit points

Doesn’t seem up to Holiday Inn standards. I booked through hotwire and breakfast was not included. They charge $ 10.95 for their breakfast. First time in an 2 week trip that I had to pay for breakfast. For over $ 100 a night you would think breakfast would be included.
Bed was comfortable, room was clean. Long hallways, no elevator by rooms.

Disappointed to say the least. In the past few months I’ve spent over 6 weeks in holidays inns across the country and have LOVED every one! Until last night…
Checkin– awkward interaction and I didn’t receive the comforting friendly welcome I’ve grown accustomed to with holiday inns.
Poolside– LOUD! that was my choice so I can’t blame the hotel but be wary if you want a quiet relaxing evening.
Room service– the staff wasn’t sure if they had food or drinks so I was hold twice.
Rooms– while spacious (and the microwave & fridge combo is great!) they are painfully outdated.
Bathroom– awful. Enough said.
Summary– let’s step it up Frederick! The downtown here is amazing and less than a $ 10 cab ride away from this could-​be-​cool spot.

Great location but bathroom in serious need of cleaning and an upgrade. Blood wiped on wall could easily have been scrubbed off. Wallpaper peeling and very few bathroom amenities. Disappointingly overpriced for Holiday Inn Express standards. #prioritymemberblues

Extremely loud as our room is by the pool with a ton of loud disrespectful people. A ton of unsupervised children screaming and running up and down the halls. Screaming headache from the aggrevation. We are gold members but will never stay here again.

Two stars for two reasons:
1) We were told the bar is open until 2am on Fridays. Upon arriving at about 12:45 after my brothers wedding with the bridal party we were told the bar had just closed. Our only reason to stay here was so we could «after party» at the bar some.
2) The hallways smelled funky and the rooms are a bit outdated.

My husband and I stayed here in May for a festival in town. The desk clerk was very courteous and allowed us to leave our bags in the office area since our room was not ready yet. We arrived early and the hotel was booked up with many different events so it was understandable.
The room was clean and I loved the fact that it had a back door that led right out into the pool area. The pool was very clean and the water temperature was just right. They even have the outside of the rooms decorated like little victorian houses which added to the appeal. In addition to the pool, they have a hot tub, sauna, and a mini golf course.
We really enjoyed our stay. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that usually, when we’ve stayed at other Holiday Inns, we receive a free breakfast buffet but this hotel did not offer that. I assume that may just be the Holiday Inn Expresses as those are the ones we’ve stayed in previously. Also, there was a lot of noise in the pool area by screaming kids and ppl who were obviously drunk and were guests of one of the bridal parties that were going on at the hotel. Not the hotel’s fault at all, but it did make relaxing (even after 10 pm when the pool area was supposed to be closed) a little difficult.
We will definitely stay here again in the future. Frederick is a great little town and we look forward to many more visits.

Got this room at 11:30 pm via Priceline after a hellacious day of air travel problems. It was billed as 3 star and I was offered it at $ 80 after Priceline declined my bid of $ 60. Too tired to fuss, I accepted. Big mistake! At registration, I was informed that the room was booked as «any available» and they only had smoking except for 1 first floor handicapped room. It is musty, beaten up, and the a/​c is from the 50s. Not 3 star and not worth $ 80. The clerk said, «I usually check out hotels on line before I book them» as though i would have then realized I didn’t want to stay here. Never again!

Overall, this is a very nice hotel.
A ball room, a buffet, an indoor pool, a bar. The workers at the front desk are very helpful and friendly. Wifi works pretty well. The only downsides to this hotel is that there are no elevators and the hallways are very long and it takes a while to find your room. The beds are very nice but I highly recommend bringing your own pillows, the pillows there are scratchy. They do allow pets. I really enjoyed my stay here.

I stay at a lot of IHG hotel brands on business, almost exclusively. This is one of the worst HI brands I’ve stayed at. There used to be an HIE practically across the street that I’ve stayed at before, which was even worse than this. The staff is nice enough, but slow as molasses. I rarely stand in line to check in as a Platinum member, but it took forever with only a couple people in line. The hotel is old, really old. It’s really big, really ugly, and pretty dirty top to bottom. The hotel itself has plenty of parking, and is very close to the mall and other parts of Frederick. Leave your bags in the car as you’ll probably get a room that requires you to drive to another entrance, and hopefully you aren’t on the second floor with luggage as there is no elevator I could find. There is an indoor pool, that I wouldn’t swim in without a hazard suit. The whole area smelled so bad of chlorine that I thought I was choking. The rooms themselves are just as bad, a little dirty and the plumbing is terrible; leaky faucets, loose shower heads, etc. I didn’t bother eating here, or do anything but stay here for the night.
Any time I’m working in the Frederick area, I’ll be staying somewhere else that’s for sure. The Hampton down the road is much nicer and about the same cash.

I travel a lot and have stayed in dozens of Holiday inns. I’ve stayed in HI properties so much that I’m and IHG Platinum member. I’ve stayed here for several nights on at least three different occasions. My opinion of this place is mixed.
As a Platinum Priority Club member I routinely receive a room upgrade at check-​in. On my first check in here I did not. That’s extremely rare for me and I was mildly annoyed. On my second and third check ins I also was NOT upgraded. Three times in a row is unheard of! The word I would like to use is not acceptable in a family review so let’s just say I was pissed!
So why did I keep coming back? The location for me was perfect. It’s surrounded by restaurants and bars and downtown Frederick is a quick two miles away. The price was also great.
This hotel is older than most and is in need of updating. On one of my stays the hallway outside my room had many missing ceiling tiles with insulation hanging down. Not a pretty site.
On the plus side the bar staff here was great and the food at the bar was a notch above the usual hotel grub.
As with almost all IHG properties, my room was clean and comfortable.
There are plenty of hotels in the area. If you are not tied to the IHG brand you could do better.

This a review based on a reception I went to at this hotel. Just a note. This is not a review of the hotel’s rooms.
The dinner was in the hotel’s «courtyard» which is actually an enclosed structure that has a couple of fountains. Everything about the room was dingy and old. I would not recommend it to anyone to hold a reception. The food followed suit. A bag salad mix (ya know the one with red cabbage and carrots) and overcooked pre frozen chicken breasts that looked stamped out by a machine. The roasted potatoes were half way decent and the rolls were typical hotel (probably Sysco Brand) rolls. The staging for the event was awkward… probably because there were 5 large trellises behind the stage with no flowers on them.
The honest truth is, I would recommend this room or food to noone who wants to have a classier event. Maybe someone who’s having a party where the theme is «outdated.» Step up your game a little Holiday Inn. I know you can do it.

This hotel is in a good location and is near the mall and lots of eating options. It’s a little bit older though and could use some updating. It has a bar in it and a banquet room with a full kitchen as well. While we were there, they had a wedding reception one of the evenings.

I stayed at this hotel while on a business trip in Frederick. This place has a restaurant, bar, convention hall, stage and a full fitness area. The room was a typical room: bed, bathroom, tv and desk. Wireless internet was ok, but slow at times, not the hotel’s fault just a shared data connection. Every morning they offered a buffet breakfast: eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes (couldn’t eat them). I had a problem with the television, notified the front desk and a couple minutes later I had someone working on the problem. I had clean linens on a daily basis. I have to say that I was extremely impressed by the hospitality of this hotel.

Nice hotel with awesome hot breakfast, friendly service, a rental car, and etc. But I’m writing this review more because of the following.
Bar!!!
and every other week there is a singles party… for people who’s average age is 60!!! And I have to say… you can easily say why they are such! You see all sorts of mustaches… but entertaining none the less. DIdn’t really intereact with them but was just more people watching. (we were all scared but thought it was awesome)
As for the bar… friendly bartender who remembers you the next day. Even extra drinks that you didn’t get the night before. So over all… I really enjoyed the place. Although it’s more in retrospect.
