It’s a local joint, but a pretty good choice. Small bar area. Dining area was a little dated but clean. Service was good. The food was fine, in line with the prices. The spinach salad with grilled chicken was particularly good.

Absolutely hands-down best food around in town. Very affordable and especially love the earlybird specials for dinner.

This place should be on DDD. Great local restaurant with great food and cold beer. Love the summer here as they always have fresh seafood, weekends are for steamers, mussels, and clam cakes, all outstanding. Owners stop by the tables to make sure you are enjoying everything. If I’m the area a must stop, great food, great prices.

After reviewing all the bad reviews, we almost didn’t go here. We had a great experience. Great food and service. They had a Prime Rib special which was cooked perfectly. The server was attentive and gracious. Can’t wait to come back here.

We went on a Friday night, place was empty. I ordered the chicken francaise and it was so rubbery, almost tasted raw. The sauce was gelatinous and definitely not enticing. My husband got the baked scallops, which he switched with me, for the chicken. The scallops were WAY overdone and actually rubbery/hard to eat. The kid’s meals were the best out of of all of ours — cheese pizza was good/great crust and the ziti with meatballs was tangy and garlicky. Not headed back anytime soon…

We have gone to this resturant for many years and celebrations. Tonight was the worst visit and service we have ever had. The server was very inexperienced. She was about 5’8 and long dark hair and glasses. Saw her very little, was several times sitting at the next booth visiting. We had brushetta it was good but dinner went down from there. We ordered whole belly clam plate w/onion rings and broiled scallops with sweet potato fries and a salad. The clam portion was smaller then normal, The scallops were cooked but the sweet potato fries were not fully cooked. Some were very crunchy so not cooked. The salad was served w/olives and the liquid was all on the salad. Gross. I asked for rolls was told that not sure if they had any. Before i could say forget it the server took off. Came back 10 mins later asked how things were. I just asked where are the rolls. Server says oh wait i’ll check. Came back with rolls finally. Then 10 mins later as we are eating she comes back with check. Never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee til she brought the check all totaled up. We said to the server 2 times it was our anniversary she said happy anniversary. Then walked away. We then looked at our check and found that our meals were more $ then stated in menu. The scallops were in menu for $ 18.99 but was charged $ 20.24, The clams were in menu for $ 17.99 but were charged $ 18.49. When we asked her to explain the charges on the check. The server told us its extra for onion rings and the blue cheese for the salad. But only told us this after we asked about the xtra charges on check. Not when we ordered and not stated in menu. There was also a extra tax charge. She said that its a local tax? We are sorry to say we probbly won’t be going back again as our bill totaled almost $ 60.00 that was insane. We walked in at 715 pm. Not busy, prob 10 people in main dining room and bar. We left the resturant at about 845. I feel bad cause i just recommended this place to my motorcycle group. Big mistake.

Love this place. Fried seafood is fantastic. Steak tips are awesome, beer is cold, service is friendly. What more do you want?

Just to be clear — this is a «neighborhood» restaurant, nothing more, nothing less. Its not where you get all dolled up on a Saturday night to go dine out with your partner. Its more where you stop for a good, hot meal after a 10 hour day at work. Having said that — it really is a solid restaurant. Great service, like they really, really care. Tonight the rolls were hot and straight out of the oven, the salad dressing was home made and delicious, the lasagna was plentiful and tasty, the haddock was tender and cooked perfectly. absolutely no complaints(and I’m very picky). In fact, I’ve been to many a so called 5-star restaurant where the service and food wasn’t as good. So, if you’re looking for a good basic meal, with attentive service, at a very reasonable price — I’d recommend The Union Street Grill.

Came in for a late lunch on a Saturday. There a few people in there already but there was no waitress or bartender in the room when we arrived; had to stick my head into the back to get someone’s attention. Food was mediocre(grilled salmon for me, BLT for my wife) but the menu is extensive enough that I’d be willing to come back to try a couple more items(though it is pretty pricey for mediocre food). Really wish the staff pretended to be more interested in their patrons…

We always have a great meal here, don’t know why all the not good reviews??? There on Thursday July 10, 2014. I had the surf n turf, nice perfectly cooked steak tips with 2 giant baked stuffed shrimp, delicious! My daughter had the fried clams which were cooked to golden brown, nice and crispy. Salad is crisp, fresh and great dressings, rolls are hot and yummy. Waitress was very attentive.

Holy Hell. The absolute worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. The«French Dip» was unidentifiable meat, on a cheap, stale sub roll with clotted mozzarella and a side of greasy salty swill they called«au jus.» It was terrible, but that must be par for the course since the server didn’t even take notice of my uneaten meal when she cleared the table. The clientele was a bunch of middle aged shitheads who probably frequent the place and treat it like a fraternity dining hall when their wives let them out of the house. The rolled up napkin that flew from across the bar and hit my boyfriend in the face confirmed my suspicions. I get that you’re a miserable middle class son of a bitch with a mediocre job, bratty kids and a nagging wife, but for shit’s sake don’t ruin MY afternoon because of it. I leave hungry and irritated, never to return.

One suggestion: go anywhere else. Hair in the coleslaw… and no one came back to say sorry! Food is just OK anyways, nothing to write home about. And it smells like stale cigarettes…

Called in a take out order. Showed up and was told that they had no order, verified phone number was correct. 830 on a Friday and place was empty. Disappointed to say the least.

Go for the burgers, stay for the onion rings! Hand-formed burger, good sized, char-broiled, cooked just as I asked, med. rare. Great taste. Onion rings, substituted for fries, were outstanding! Crispy batter and not too much of it. $ 8.80 for cheeseburger with rings. Clam chowder, cup $ 4.30, was only OK, lacked body, prob. thickened with corn starch. Wife had lasagna w/side salad, $ 12.00, which she found very ordinary and nothing to go back for. First visit so not sure of the rest of the menu. $ 34 tab + tip including Mike’s Hard Lemonade and an iced tea. $ 40 bucks was a bit much for what we got but will definitely put on the list for when we’re in a burger mood.

Ordered a special Chicken Marsala, they didn’t cook the marsala long enough and it tasted horrible. I sent it back. She asked if I wanted to wrap it up I told her no I don’t want to eat it here why would I want to eat it at home. I waited for the other 3 people in my party to finish eating and when we went to pay the bill my chicken was still on there, had to fight to get it taken off and the waitress was pissy about it. We still tipped on the full bill but I will NEVERGO back. Cons: Waitresses never seem to be around when you need them Food came out cold, under cooked, or wrong Restaurant was dated, and dirty and had an awkward set up Fighting to get the inedible meal taken off the bill Pro: Drinks we strong

Mediocre at best, but not bad for a quick bite. Due disclosure — my wife and I got into an argument at lunch so it may have affected the tast of the food. ;)

It’s a little dated inside, but good size portions, food if ok… huge beers! Great for a casual night out. There seemed to be lots of families eating there as well.

Nice bar/resturant — folks with children sitting in booths, locals sitting at bar discussing ball game. Menu is pretty extensive, covering usual bar type food along with steaks, seafood and pasta. I had the clam dinner($ 15.99), which was served quickly and sizzling — fries were tasty, not soggy like some places. Clams were great, full belly, sweet and breaded just right. My Sam Adams lager was nice, but @ $ 5.25 was more than I thought a draft beer should be.(yes — I am cheap) Over all, nice place, clean, well lighted, good parking, friendly staff. Worth going back next time I am in area.
