Wow, what a wonderful afternoon we spent picking our own pumpkins, taking a wagon ride through the farm, and discovering all kinds of cool kid friendly areas. My six year old cousins had a blast! Thank you all for the great time! Truly a must in the Franklin area!

Address was wrong when I put into GPS and I am confused about the hours! Wish I could have gone but when I entered address on their webpage GPS took me to the wrong place.

Gentry’s Farm does an excellent job of catering to their core customer base: families with young children. For an afternoon of early fall fun with a young family, there’s not much they haven’t thought of. We spent the better part of a Saturday early in the season on the farm — picking a variety of pumpkins straight from the patch($ 3 each, no matter the size/color), selecting larger pumpkins from the pre-picked selection(between $ 6 — $ 12), spending so. much. time. in the mazes, taking a hayride tour of the property, and checking out the children’s activities that our girls are either too old(12) or too young(8 months) to enjoy. The activity area has a $ 7 admission fee, with kids under 2 free. The photo opportunites are endless! A small selection of food is available at a concession stand, but your best bet is to pack lunch and enjoy it pond-side in the picnic area between the parking lot and the pre-picked pumpkins. After our first visit we collectively decided to start a new family tradition and make the trip to this Franklin farm annually.

I’m a bit biased because we’ve been going to this place since soon after we moved to Nashville. But we have been to other pumpkin patches and I have to say, the extras for Gentry’s make it worth the trip. As an FYI, your GPS is going to point you to the entrance to the residential part of the farm(which is closed to visitors), and what you want to do is enter slightly to the North of that. The first thing to know about Gentry’s is that these guys have had this farm in the family since well into the 1800’s. And to keep the farm viable, a number of years ago, they began hosting tours for schools and other groups and from there they began the whole pumpkin patch/fall fest thing. And as an FYI, you absolutely can just buy pumpkins without paying an admission fee. Yeah, they may be slightly more expensive than you can buy them in bulk at Costco, but we bought a trunkload of ‘em for under $ 40, so I’d call that fair. This year(2013), there is also an area where you can roam a real pumpkin patch and pick-em yourself! One thing to note is that there is no way that you are going to get a wireless signal out here, and as a result, this really is a CASHONLY place. You’re going to a farm. Bring cash. They do take checks as well, but you’re going to need some cash anyway to buy refreshments once you get inside. This year(2013) it was $ 7 a family member for everyone over the age of 2. Once you get admission, you’ll have access to a number of activities, including a corn maze(which seems to get better every year), a hay ride(very safe), an indoor maze and a ton of playground space. Kids can also get up close and personal with a number of animals in a very controlled environment, including sheep, goats and chicken. There are some really neat hands-on discovery areas where kids can play with different kinds of grains, etc. And a bazillion different photo opportunities. This place is LOADED with history and architecture! Refreshments are run by a local church to help raise money for their youth programs, and it is generally all cheap — I think last year most items like popcorn, sodas and hot coffee/cocoa/cider were all a buck(did I mention bring cash?). Lastly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone working here not smiling. They’ve always been very very friendly and hospitable — I can’t imagine anyone not getting taken care of here. A fall must-visit for your kids and for all of your pumpkin needs!

I really REALLY wanted to love Gentry’s Farm. There aren’t many places to get that fall experience in Nashville. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed. The pumpkin selection is a little lacking… and I’m kind of against paying $ 6 to take a hay ride and go through a corn maze. For a family, I would imagine that would add up pretty quickly. Add some apple cider and donuts for sale and I’ll give it another try =)

I went here last year with boyfriend for a fun-filled afternoon of fall festivities! September through December is my favorite time of year, with scents of cinnamon, pumpkin, and crunchy bright leaves! Also, it means scarf and boot weather, and well, who doesn’t appreciate that? I wasn’t sure what to expect upon my arrival at Gentry Farms, but I was more than impressed with the set up. I saw everything from turkeys, to HUGE pumpkins, and llamas, etc. I was so excited and giddy! It kept a steady flow of movement throughout the farm so that everyone could see everything. And it was spacious enough to enjoy the smiling, high-energy kids from afar without hearing a lot of screaming. Sorry, but I’m just not there yet! And of course, the pumpkins! What a great set-up! They were all right up at the front, for those who just aren’t into the outdoorsy activities. The selection of pumpkins was great, and we actually picked 3 pumpkins for our tiny apartment! I couldn’t decide, and didn’t want any lone pumpkins feeling left out! We had a great experience and got to reminisce about the events while carving our pumpkins and eating pumpkin chili and drinking pumpkin beer later that evening. I told you, I LOVE fall! My only gripe, which is no fault of their own, is that the corn maze was seriously lacking. Unfortunately, the heat from the summer had ruined the corn crop, and it was really just brown stalks that you could totally see through. No fun. I’m hoping this year’s corn maze will be more impressive, so I can update my review and give this awesome location a big fat 5 star rating!

I’ve gone there for the past 2 years to check out their corn maze and autumn festivities, and this past year we picked out our pumpkin from the patch! Just bring cash or checks!

I’m twenty-seven years old, and I have never been to a pumpkin patch. that is until this weekend. My girlfriend and I made the drive from Nashville all the way down to Gentry’s Farm, to pick out some pumpkins, for jack-o-lantern carving. Be warned, there are a lot of kids running around, with lots of oblivious parents not watching them. We didn’t let bad parenting ruin our experience. We paid $ 6 to get into the activity area. Where they had hay rides, a corn maze, animals, barns, and lot of other cool things. Let me tell you, the corn maze is crap. Everything is dead, so its not that hard to find your way to the end. They blamed the destruction on a hurricane. When was the last time a hurricane can through these parts? I really enjoyed just sitting around playing checkers, even though I lost. We had a great time down on the farm, and left with five nice pumpkins.

I went to my first corn maze this weekend at Gentry’s Farm — four acres of corn! With your $ 6 admission, you can also walk around their farm and visit their sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, and pigeons. Take a hayride through their fields and get a closer look at their cattle. Our driver pointed out a calf in the field that was born just two hours ago! There are lots of kid-oriented things to do here, but my friends and I still enjoyed ourselves sans children. You can pick your own pumpkins from their patch without paying for admission. Tip: Cash or check only!

Gentry Farms is a great spot for the family. The«mini» corn maze for the little ones was a hit as well as the chickens and goat areas. the hayride offers a view of the 4 historic homes located on the farm. Pumpkins are available for sale…$ 10 for large, $ 5 for medium and $ 2 for small. Entrance fee: $ 6 for adults(can’t remember how much for kids), free for kids 2yrs and under. Definitely get there early… it gets busier throughout the day.

Growing up in Dallas, there are not a ton of farms around to get the true kiddie experience during the holidays. Well thank god! Tennessee has a few farms around providing pick-your-own pumpkin patches :) Gentry’s Farm is AWESOME! It’s about 20 – 30 minutes from Nashville and the drive is gorgeous. If you want to pick your own pumpkin, there is a huge patch available to find your truly unique pumpkin for no more than $ 3 a pop. I picked out 2 medium sized pumpkins and walked away paying a whopping $ 2 for them total. Can’t beat that! There are also tons of events available at Gentry’s Farm for a $ 6 admission fee. They have a corn maze(super cute… the aerial view of it is a chicken… lol), hay ride, playground and play center, and tons your typical farm animals like goats and turkeys and chickens and cows that are fun to holler noises at in hopes of soliciting a reply :) If you love hearing goats goat at each other as much as I do, you’ll love Gentry’s Farm.
