A much smaller store, but seemed well stocked. Something that could have been worse happened when I tried to take a 5.11 backpack off the display rack. It snagged a bit on the hook and pulled the whole display down towards me. Luckily, I caught the heavy rack but not before it spilled its contents on the floor at my feet. My concern was that if an elderly person was in my position, they could have potentially been injured by the falling rack. BTW, the backpacks stayed on the floor throughout my visit because I didn’t think it was my job to replace 30 backpacks, and I guess neither did the employees that worked there. But my biggest complaint was with those employees. About as uncaring as you can get. The kid selling licenses was rude and yelled at me across the store while I was standing in line at the front cashier to buy something. And the front cashier was no customer relations expert either. No eye contact. No smile. Cursing the computer system she had to work with under her breath. And lastly, no thank you at the end of my transaction. I was visiting Milwaukee for the weekend with my girlfriend for my birthday and she had never been in a Gander Mountain. I felt embarrassed that I talked them up so much and got treated the way I did. I guess Cabela’s and Bass Pro are going to get my outdoor supply business from now on.

Purchased my first gun their. The service was great! Will definitely go back again. I got a lot of information on ammunition and shooting tips. The store was very organised and very clean. Great store for first time shooters.

Very small selection for a Gander Mtn. When I asked about backpacks for a hiking trip they didn’t have anything other than a school/laptop bag, and yet they told me to go see that corner.

They don’t carry any live bait. The guy was pretty rude on the phone. I don’t see any reason to go here when similar or same items can be more easily obtained online or elsewhere for same or cheaper.

Good selection of products, but terribly overpriced. It seems as if they have the smallest selection of firearm accessories compared to other gander mountain stores. They advertise items on «sale», but they’re actually at regular price. If you don’t need anything, don’t waste your time here.

Folks, let me tell you. Peer pressure is a real thing. When a couple of my beer buddies said«Hey, let’s go to Alaska!» I couldn’t say no. And then I realized that we had opted to book this trip in mid-January. WTF? So for someone who lives south of the Mason-Dixon line, temperatures below zero simply don’t happen. Now I need to start thinking about cold weather gear. And when I drove past this Gander Mountain shop, I decided to pop in and check things out. First off, this is a full outdoors shop. Tents and camping gear. Hunting and fishing gear, including guns and ammunition(not much 9 mm or .380). And lots and lots of clothing, from workout type stuff to fishing waders to coats and gloves and jackets. All of really good stuff, but all of it really expensive stuff. Well stocked, well organized, and well priced.

Surprised my son with a birthday pop-in to Gander Mountain. He’s a huge fishing enthusiast, and he wanted a second rod ‘n’ reel to catch the big one, so I surprised him and had him accompany me to get the right rod. This Gander Mountain has a great stock of hiking boots(Merrell and the like), hunting and fishing gear, and outdoor clothing for adult sizes. We wandered over to the fishing area, and this City Slicker expected someone to approach, since I look like a fish out of water in the fishing aisle. But we had to approach Customer Service to have someone meet us. No big deal. Especially since they had Melissa meet us to talk w/my son about what he wants to catch, what kind of bait he uses, and our price range. Melissa was the best! She listened and talked w/my son(who can be quite shy), gave him some tips about where to find bass, and suggested a line of Gander Mountain GSX spinning rod ‘n’ reels that were 50% off! Since I was thinking of asking for a rod ‘n’ reel for Christmas, I got myself one too! My son was super happy with our find, and can’t wait to go angling for bass. I don’t pretend to know anything about fishing, and Melissa gave us her card and told us about some fishing seminars they do in the Spring, and was a huge help. I’ll come back to this Gander Mountain for fishing supplies, and hiking gear.
