Established in 1984.

We have over 30-​years experience. Our shop was originally located on Cottage Street but we had to relocate to accommodate our growth. We are now located at 19 Dean Ave., that’s off Main Street between Dean Bank and the post office.

We’ve been doing alterations for over 30 years. Our specialty is bridal parties and prom dresses. My sister, Deborah, is a Master Tailor and holds a degree in fashion and design. Our company is family owned and operated.

I had some tuxedo pants altered here recently. Quality work, quick turnaround, nice people. The space is a little clumsy, but a positive experience. Cheap too!

I brought my prom dress to have it hemmed and two seams in the back to be restitched (it was used and two seams were torn) and am very happy with the results! My dress was a little more complicated than most for hemming because it has a two layer skirt, a very sheer outer layer and the actual fabric underneath. The total came to $ 55, which I thought was reasonable for the quality work that Dona did. It was also done very fast– she assured me that it would be 1 week at the most since I brought mine earlier than the other girls and wanted to have it done before the rush. I think it was 6 days? I highly recommend!

Dona takes care of all my family’s tailoring. I myself being very small and skinny have had her adapt pants to me and also custom fit dress shirts by shortening the arms. Everything always looks excellent and she is the only tailor I will trust. Dona is extremely nice and easy to work, the kind of person you like doing business with. Highly recommended.

She always does a good job, on time, reasonably priced… and she’s a very nice person and good to deal with. I think once I was a couple of dollars short and she said «don’t worry about it». I got the extra money and came right back to settle up. But that’s just the type of person she is. I’d have no problem recommending her.

Donna does a fantastic job on everything she works on. It’s quality work with a quick turnaround. I’ve had a variety of clothing altered, such as: pants, jeans, a trenchcoat, dresses, and even snowboard pants. She even does same day if you absolutely need it. I’m short — 5 feet. I have to have almost everything I buy altered. And I go to Donna exclusively because I trust her craftmanship.

Dona has done beautiful work for me and my family over the years! I can tell you this… she has definitely saved me in a pinch on numerous occasions! Today she has once again! Last night my daughter found a dress that she needs in 2 days but it needed alterations. She was so upset and I just said.“don’t worry T, I’ll call Dona to see if she can help us”! Guess what… I called her up and she said to bring it right to her and she will have it for my daughter the next day! Saved again! Thank you so much Dona for always being there for me! You are a life saver and it’s so nice knowing you are there if you’re needed!

I recently went to Dona’s Tailoring to have a pair of jeans hemmed. Although she was very pleasant and quick to process the request, I did not receive the service she planned to process. At the time the order was placed it was planned for an original hem, as this lengthens the time usage of the jeans. When I went to pick up my jeans I was greeted with an apology that she made a mistake and did an alternative hem instead despite or earlier discussion and her making a specific note on the order slip. Although she did not charge and was genuinely apologetic, I am now left with a pair of jeans that can’t be fixed. I personally would not trust her with any of my clothing in the future as a result.

Dona is very efficient and does EXCELLENT work! She saved my sanity recently, when I was in a panic because my wedding dress was too big two days before the big day. Dona fixed the problem within 24 hours and was very easy to work with. My mother also had her dress tailored with Dona and was equally impressed. Highly recommended!
