We just played on the playground and had a picnic here around 5pm so it was pretty empty with a handful of kids and adults. Didn’t experience the beach but those in it looked like they were having fun. They have bathrooms and a portable potty with a water fountain in between the bathrooms. There appears to be a concession area attached to the restroom building but it was closed when we got there. My guess is it’s open during peak hours. We are not franklin/Milford residents but no one seemed to be checking even though it says the beach is only for Milford and franklin residents. There were people here with Rhode Island license plates.

This beach is closed often for e coil in the water. Gross. Lots of trash and cigarette buts left on the beach and the water looks weedy and dirty. People must party there at night b/c you’ll find lots of cans and bottles on the walking path. Not to mention its located between 495 and the dump. You’d expect this from a free beach but they charge a daily fee which does not go to clean up costs. Only good things are the water is very shallow and has a nice playground for the little ones.

I have to admit-it is a nice looking beach area but the water is a bit dirty with grass, leaves, weeds. The water is comfortable I have to admit. If that stuff was cleaned out of the water it would be great.

The beach was clean, quiet, and kid friendly. I’ve spent several afternoons here with our 3 and 4.5 year olds. The sand is nice and the water is relatively clear and shallow. There is also a playground next to the beach. I have never seen it crowded — even on a hot Saturday afternoon. There is no longer a snack stand but the ice cream truck stops by. It’s a wonderful place for the kids to play and for me to relax.

Nice quiet freshwater beach! It is town owned, w/clean fresh water, and very well maintained. It is a lot warmer than all the salt water beaches in the area. For non-resident the fee is $ 12 day for the whole family. My wife & I liked to take our kids there because it is small and you don’t have to worry if they run a ½ mile away, everything is right there. There’s a small concession stand for snacks, picnic tables. My kids are grown now so I usually just hit it off season for a place to have lunch & relax if I’m working in the area. The only downside is the late opening date for swimming — late June, sad that there’s a fee but it tends to keep punks away.
