Meet the Business Owner

Benny W.

Business Owner

Dr. Woody established the Animal Health Center in 1992. His clinical interests are cytology, oncology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, and dentistry. He has a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University; a Master of Science in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery from Texas A&M University; and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, Canine/​Feline Specialty.

After receiving his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1980, he went on to complete an internship in the area of small animal medicine and surgery and a three year residency in small animal internal medicine at Texas A&M University. In 1984, he joined the faculty of Mississippi State University as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the College of Veterinary Medicine. He was promoted to Associate Professor four years later, receiving tenure in 1989. He also was Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries at Mississippi State University.
