I have been going to Steve’s for almost 4 years now and couldn’t be happier. Every barber that works here has done what I asked perfectly every time. No complaints and I always make sure to send people their way

got my hair cut here a few days ago and now I have to go get it fixed somewhere else. the guy did a total rush job, not even blending the top and sides. when I asked him to blend it he said «your hair is just like that», and when I said I never had a ridge of hair separating the top of my head from the sides he said «fine, i don’t care how long your hair is» and hurried to cut more off… I had to stop him. just awful, zero stars. stay away.

I have been coming here for quite a while now. Always great, consistent haircuts. However, the last two times I have been there I have received horrible haircuts. The most recent was yesterday. It was Roman and some guy I have not seen before. Of course, I was the unfortunate one to get the guy I haven’t seen before. The guy I got seemed as if it was his first time using scissors. I asked for a fade and ½ inch off the top. Pretty standard stuff. I did not get a fade at all and it is all different lengths on the side and the back. Patchy all over. He did a terrible job trimming the top. Not blended. The entire time he seemed uncertain about what he was doing. Annoying. Not very happy about waiting for an hour and getting a terrible haircut. In the future, I’ll go somewhere else.

I’ve been to so many barbershops and have never been fully happy with the job done. After I came here I have never gone anywhere else. I get the perfect haircut every time!

I took my 2 year old here today for a haircut and he was nervous and cried a little but Steve was very patient with him and gave him a great haircut.

Came here before my engagement pictures and will say this was probably the best barbershop I have been to. Will be coming back here when I am back in New York.

I’ve been going to Steve’s barber shop for many years on and off and I always have good things to say about this barber shop. You always walk in and feel welcome! They also do awesome haircuts and never had a problem with anyone. Keep up the good work Steve!

Very good service. Very professional. The waiting time isn’t an issue compared to some other barbershops in the neighborhood

Honestly this is the best barber shop on the Island. From the tools, your hair cut, shave, and even the price. My first time coming in I had asked for a combe over & shave. I had told him I judge really hard about how my hair is cut. He told me «I guarantee you this will be the best cut you will ever have in your life, and if you don’t like it don’t pay me. As soon as he started I noticed all his tools where properly sanitized, his buzzer didn’t pull my hair, and the shave that I got was like topping the cake with a cherry. He first warmed my face up with a freshly clean hot towel, then after that rubbed my face with 3 different chemicals, then went on shaving my face with his costum Russian built straight edge razor. I sh!+ you not it’s a shaving experience that is undescribable. Not one cut nor razor burn on my face. Smooth as butter I tell you.
The price $ 27 for this experience but I paid $ 40. I’m telling you this right now I’m coming from roslyn heights getting my hair cut from D’s and Manny ’ s barber shop both are good and expensive but still dose not beat steve’s barber shop.

Steves barbershop is great. I moved to Long Island from the Bronx and couldn’t find a good barbershop until I went to steves. I definitely recommend steves barbershop to anyone looking for a good place to get a haircut.

Steve’s beard shaping and line up skills are garbage. Maybe he was drunk idk, but after he lined up my beard it was crooked and misshaped. This resulted in me having to go home and fix it myself. He also rushed and didn’t even take his time. Not to mention how rough and irritated my skin was after. He didn’t even put on after shave. I will not return.

I am very picky when it comes to my hair I tried a few barbershop in franklin square and West Hempstead but no one could cut my hair the way I wanted. But finally I came across Steve’s barber shop thanks to Unilocal.The customer service is great they listened to me and my hair came out perfect excellent job thank you. Very very happy.

Clean shop and awesome barbers. Did exactly what i’ve asked and had a bonus head and shoulder massage at the end. Highly recommended.

Good place, short wait, cost is average in this area, consistent. Hot towels.
Best times to go are during weekday hours if possible.

Went for my third haircut at Steve’s, much less likely to return. Steve and Roman are top notch barbers, great cut and personable. Peter… not so much. I was also charged almost double the price that I was in my previous two visits. The last two times my haircut cost me $ 12 + tip (always drop at minimum $ 20 regardless of price). This time, I was charged $ 20 for just the haircut even though I received LESS service than Roman or Steve provide, plus I didn’t even receive the customary hot towel or anything that every other person got. A little irked about that, but much more annoyed about the price being well above what I was expecting to be charged. I did notice the price for a haircut went up to $ 14.99…which is fine, but why the extra $ 5 when the barber did less than when I was charged only $ 12? Steve/​Roman shaped my beard last time… nothing this time and I was charged more? What? Oh, and as the icing on the cake, I walked away with a nice big cut on the top of my forehead.
**UPDATE**
Steve reached out to me after this review and apologized/​explained what happened. Turns out Peter was new, and that brought on the confusion. Anyway, he offered up a free haircut, which I tried to decline, since an owner reaching out was definitely enough. I stopped back in this past Saturday to get cleaned up, and true to his word, Steve wouldn’t take my money. Class act, and a great guy. I’m still not going to get my haircut by anyone besides him or Roman again, but hey… two out of three great barbers ain’t a bad ratio. Well done fellas.

Been going here for more than 4 years. Exceptional cuts. Professional barbers and clean environment. Look for steve or roman. The rest of the guys are exceptional also. (Call the fire department cause your hair will come out looking HOTTTT).

I’ve been to about 2 barber shops my entire life and have always been satisfied. This place made me realize what I’ve been missing. The service is exceptional, the place is very comfortable, and the hair cut is off the hook. Come see Steve and ask him to give you a cut of ur choosing. Very neat and detailed. My new place for life.

Best haircut on Long Island hands down! Queens native but I drive the extra 15 minutes for a great overall experience. The barbers are all personable and welcoming. STOP AT STEVE’S IF YOU NEED TO IMPRESS!

This place is very inviting, and not pretentious. My friend David goes to Steve for a while now, and he can’t stop talking about how good his hair looks every time. They really care bout a client, Steve is very creative and very professional. Laid back atmosphere and warm.
