We just went here for dinner and we had an exceptionally wonderful experience. The food was all fresh, delicious, and plenty to go around. We started off with mussels and fried artichoke, which were both cooked perfectly. Then we had the specials for the entrees and cleaned our plates. Thinking we had no room for dessert, we declined at first but eventually ordered the tartufo to share. Left nothing on the plate. Service was top notch and super friendly. They were attentive and gave great recommendations especially with the wine. So glad we tried this place out — we look forward to returning soon.

I catered my daughters graduation party from Il Cantone. I have always eaten at the restaurant and love their food. Especially their homemade sauce. Their fresh and well made food is top notch and perfect for my husbands picky Italian family. Giacamo went above and beyond with our family. The baked clams were perfect. The penne ala vodka was out of this world. We had chicken franchaise, with extra sauce and rolls. The food was amazing. Everyone ranted and raved. Overall the party was a success. On a side note, we frequently eat at this restaurant because they do not add sugar to their sauce like many other Italian restaurants do. My husband is a diabetic and his sugar doesn’t spike as high when we eat there. By far it is the best Italian restaurant in the area.

I brought a small pizza and the price was insane. They charged me so much, I will never go back. I knew something was wrong when they couldn’t figure out a price.

Excellent pizza. I wouldn’t expect anything less in this predominantly Italian area. I tried both the Neapolitan and Siciliano and they are both excellent; slices are large so one might be enough to fill you up. I had two, which was almost too much after I skipped breakfast. The pizza is crusty and loaded with fresh mozzarella cheese, and the sauce is delightfully sweet with rich tomato flavor. Add a little sprinkle of garlic and oregano. Mangia!

Came here for dinner a bunch of times. Without a doubt my favorite italian restaurant around. also had them cater a party I was having and everyone loved the food and could not stop commenting on how great the chicken francese was. Another thing, I ordered a 6 foot hero of chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella and roasted peppers. Way better than ordering it from a deli. You could tell it was made fresh as opposed to a deli where the cutlets sit in the display case for god knows how long. Definitely recommend this place.

What a joy to find the perfect Italian pizza parlor so close to work. Their lunches are fantastic. Whether it’s the chicken parm, Francese, or my favorite the chicken bruschetta, you can’t go wrong. All slices of pizza are represented. And now two dollar chicken buffalo and parm rolls have been put on the menu making for a great appetizer to eat alone or to be shared. The service is attentive and quick making for a perfect lunch. As someone who was not a fan of fried Oreos I am now addicted to theirs. Highly recommended every aspect perfect.

Except for the parking situation, this place went beyond my expectations. The bread was fresh, different, and delicious. Nice glass of house wine for $ 5. We had the clams as an appetizer. Great! I had linguini primavera with garlic and oil. Wow! So good! Hubby had — get this name — mussels marinara. Sounds like a mafioso. Anyway, he loved it. At least 30+ mussels on the plate. Servers very attentive. Nice music to eat by. Will definitely go back to this gem of a neighborhood joint. PS-Sweet pizza parlor in front as you walk to restaurant area.

Hands down best Italian food in the area! The place is immaculate and the staff is very friendly. This place is family owned and operated and they take pride in their food. Everything you eat in this place is fresh my fiancé and I are there at least once a week whether it be take out or dining in! Anyone living in the Franklin Sq., New York area or here visiting this place is a must to go!!!

In this day in age where food is mass produced, it’s refreshing to come to an Italian restaurant who pride themselves in the freshness and quality of their food. And it shows. This family run restaurant is a page out of the old book — their friendly, personable staff and Italian music ambiance makes the dining experience feel like you’re part of the family. Their Grandma Slice is the best I’ve ever had — but over time I have grown to love their full dining menu. In my opinion, it’s a must-eat-at spot the in the Franklin Square area. I know I’ll be! –Dan, Forest Hills, NY

I LOVE the grandma pie here! The service is pretty quick which is always a plus! They are quite stingy with their paper plates and napkins. You always have to ask for paper plates. If you ask for five, they will actually count out five paper plates to give you. Otherwise it’s a great place to order out your grandma pie!

classic neighborhood restaurant with the best grandma pizza in Nassau County. Small bar, with about 30 tops in back, and another 20 in front at pizza station. They always have fresh, tasty specials at moderate price points. weekends always crowded with locals. great fish and veal dishes. if you are a soup lover, this place has great soups… from a simple chicken soup to pasta fagioli. Run by the Dignoti family and using local HS/college kids from the ‘hood working, may not be the most professional staff but they all are hard working and friendly. Closed mondays
