Worst market in the area! Tiny aisles that don’t fit more than one cart. Somehow always packed with people but I don’t know how because they are over-priced and don’t carry some standard items on a regular basis. The ends of the aisles always have over-stocked displays making it that much more difficult to navigate and find what you need. The staff seem to not know what they are doing and are more intent on socializing. They like to put one thing per bag, and if it’s more than one its items that shouldn’t go together like raw chicken and fresh vegetables. The place also always seems dirty. I honestly don’t know how they are still open!

The High Holidays must be approaching… as the store has a huge matzoh display up. Again. Across the street from an Orthodox synagogue in an area with a large Jewish population no less. In New York, not North Dakota. I invited the manager to stop by my place next Easter… I will have a lovely Christmas tree selection ready for him. Just got a call from someone in the main office who claimed that she did not know this was ‘wrong’, though I have called in previous years as have many others. They are taking the suggestion to remove the matzoh from the holiday display ‘under advisement’. Wow… Add to the above, dirty, disorganized, understaffed. Went in for a head of lettuce and left empty handed…

Produce has at time been better. Went the other day and all the cukes were old and shriveled. Tomatoes had no price. I go primarily for the meat. Great quality meat and excellent sale prices. Deli counter is too crowded. I get my deli and produce at Cross Island. Needs to be upgraded physically, too.

They lose one star for being super small and poorly laid out. But this joint is crowded for a reason – fresh produce, cold cuts, and a nice selection of imported groceries.

This place is not the Best Yet, so that’s a misnomer. The negatives are that it’s too small/crowded, the layout is bad, it’s dirty(there’s a horrible smell when you first walk in the door that makes me gag; I have to hold my breath) and the staff are on the registers are unfriendly/unhelpful/loud and always talking about inappropriate stuff amongst themselves. A lot of times I can’t find what I’m looking because things are in weird spots. The parking lot is a nightmare: shopping carts everywhere and older people(sorry) in Buicks backing up without looking. Positives: the produce section can sometimes have some very nice, fresh stuff(fresh basil, for instance), but the next time you go, you can’t find it or everything looks rotten. I like some of their bakery items(chocolate crumb cake, pistachio muffins). Sometimes they have good sales on water. I stop in from time to time when I’m in the area, but it’s never a really comfortable shopping experience, unless it’s empty.

While I wouldn’t be so bold as to call it Best Yet, I will choose to call it «Better Yet» I came here recently, at the behest of my sister whom swears by this place. to understand my rating, I feel that first you must understand whom I am. I usually shop at Fairway for groceries, Pellegrini Prime for my meats, and Buttercooky for my baked goods. Keep this in mind when reading my review. Upon entering I am greeted by a circular that says«Crazy 88 sale!» Apparently all the sale items end in «8» Cantaloupe for $ 1.98. Shrimp for $ 5.99/lb, Greek Yogurt $ 2.88, you get the idea. I must say that the produce selection was quite expansive. good quality fresh fruits and vegetables at a very decent price. The fish section, albeit it very small, had a few good items that I purchased. the shrimp and scallops were fresh not previously frozen and they were priced reasonably. The deli counter was very nice and thye carry all of my favorite salty cured Italian meats! There is very small«bakery» if you can call it that in front of the deli. It is basically a sectioned off part of the store where there is an oven and they make their own bread and small baked goods. It certainly makes the store smell divine! All in all it was a good experience. I will probably come back agian, however, I do not ffeel this will be my reguialr super market.

Unfortunately, when I go in to this store, I’m immediately averse to the environment. I feel immediately stressed and overwhelmed. I don’t feel the staff are very friendly and helpful and the food seems old and not fresh. I work right next door to this market so it is ultra-convenient but if I had to choose, I probably wouldn’t shop here. I was going to write a very poor review but after a few purchases, you know, the quality of the food is not bad when I took it home and I am pretty satisfied by the number on my receipt too. Maybe it’s just that I just really hate the fact there is no organic produce option there. When I went in the first time, the grocers didn’t even know what«Organic» meant. Very dissapointing. The people who work there are intimidating to be around and it feels like I’m in high school, the workers have their own world going on and I feel they aren’t accommodating to customers. I would suggest a nice renovation for this place for a better shopping experience.

Love Best Yet especially for cold cuts, steak sales and delicious cooked chicken downsize is its small and very busy, the cashier lines move but are usually kind of long especially express. it’s kind of old and could use some cosmetic work outside. My only real complaint the olive bar, was in this past Sunday and it looked sloppy and not sanitary didn’t buy any and definately would have. love the produce I was lucky enough to shop the new best yet in new hyde park gorgeous but not convenient

Perfectly located next to my yoga center. In love with their discount bin right at store entrance… great stuff for 99 cents. Wish they carried more natural and organic products though!
