I started going to this place because it was close to my house. But I’m not really impressed with the service. I’ve had a few issues with different servers, for example: –They leave coffee mugs on the tables and assume you want coffee. Well, I don’t drink coffee but since the server that goes around and asks if you want some didn’t take my cups off the tape I was charged for coffee because the actual server assumed I drank it. –Or my most recently visit was at 1:30pm(they close at 3pm) I guess they were starting to wind down and clean everything up around 2pm because the server came by and just reached over my table and took my ketchup bottle without saying anything. Then proceeded to do that to everyone elses table. She could have waited until I was finished eating or at least asked if I still needed it. She also heard me mention that it was a little rude to do and then she avoided my table the rest of my time there. I had to stop her and ask for a box and check. Overall, the place is ok if you want something close to home but I wouldn’t make a special trip here. The prices are about the same as Ihop and it’s not like they make something you can’t get somewhere else.

I went with a party of four, first time diners and it was GREAT definitely going back. All of us enjoyed our food, I had eggs, turkey, and cheese wrapped in crepes. I got two HUGE stuffed crepes, i took one home. I asked for hollandaise sauce on the side which made it that much better. The décor is cute, the outside and inside is all cows, cows happen to be my favorite animal and there were all different coffee cups on the tables. One was a Christmas cup lol i thought it was cute how none if them matched. Our waitress was very nice, she knew the menu well and told us about her favorites and while we ordered, she told us what part of the meal was made in house. Very cute homely type place LOVED it

Ouch! Stopped in today for a late breakfast around noon. Well walking in there was a women yelling at the workers for her terrible. But hey we were set on breakfast so it didn’t turn us away. So finically they have a new menu but sadly I doubt that is going to help them. I give this place less than a year before the doors close. You can paint it cute all you want. But that will once get me once or twice lol. So we ordered the veggie skillet and Denver omelet and a glass of «fresh squeezed orange juice»(that is $ 3.25 and is actually store bought crap!!!) Okay so the actually food is alright. If it wasn’t for the terrible service and the business trying to lie to the guest id most likely give then 3 – 4 stars. But no, they chose to actually serve us store crap orange juice instead of being honest. Look that is reason enough for me TONEVEREVEREVERRRRRGOBACK! If your lying about that what else are you lying about on the menu…(Makes me sick) Next thing is the service… We had to ask the hostess for water an the bus boy while we saw our waitress just stand at the front. Doing nothing. And this wasn’t just us the group behind us had the same issues with her. She«takes your order» but yet for us and the other table she can’t remember it at all. Mind you … We are her ONLY two tables and she is writing this down in a notepad. Or acting as she is. In all … It’s just not worth it at all. Lu Lu belle. I’ve been so excited about you and am so disappointed. And for me to step foot back in there, you’d have to pay me back for the orange pure sugar orange juice.

The Restaurant always had good food, but the Owners were advanced in age and didn’t care whether it was open or closed. The short business hours, 3PM closing, proved they weren’t interested in building the business. However, they sold it! The NEWOWNERS are on the ball and show they care. They still have a great menu of assorted faire, and the open hours are getting longer. They are investing in the business and have made improvments with more to come. They’re even open on Christmas Day with Employees that want to work. The Encore always had good Employees, and from those I’ve spoken too recently, they are happy they have a new Employer that cares. My favorite items include the Omelettes which are fluffy and filled with whatever you want in them and they have a great beef burger as well as many other items on their 6 page menu. Once they get a dinner menu together and stay open for the 6 or 7PM crowd I know the food will be great and it will be a nice place to have a casual dinner once in awhile too. I’m happy to see a couple new Owners take over the place because it’s in a great location and deserves a second chance.

I did not go there for a while since the previous owner, and went in a couple days ago and really liked the fast service and food very warm, servers were friendly, the chefs look clean and professionals and the food was pretty good, it tasted more like home made food. I guess a new owner just took over a couple of weeks ago and is doing some changes. He also owns a restaurant in Lincoln park, Chicago. I went in with my family to Encore and had a good experience this time. The chefs sent a seasonal pankakes(pumpkin) it was very good, and it was no charge. We will be back soon.

Is it OPEN? looks like a great place to grow tumble weed. Ower doesn’t seem to give a shit about place. Please close up and allow a good restaurant for local patrons. An eyesore

Large portions, decent food, meandering service. Everything about this place screams Average! Which can be a good or a bad thing, depending on if you’re looking for eggs and pancakes or a step above. You won’t regret going here but you probably won’t remember it either.

I have to agree with Patty V. This place is kinda«meh». It is never very crowded but yet I feel the waitresses just take their time and have no sense of urgency. I went with a few coworkers for lunch and we should have been in and out of there. It just seemed like the staff wasn’t happy and it showed. There are not many good restaurants in this area –Franklin Park is a pretty industrial area so there are slim picks as far as restaurants go. If you really want a more«happy» atmosphere, go to White Jasmine on Franklin or pick up a breakfast sandwich at Aracely’s Bakery(also on Franklin). Don’t bother with this place, as it is just«meh».

Eh.Meh. Went in today for lunch. The service was spotty and the food was eh, meh. My husband’s Avocado Eggs Benedict were just barely warm and my coffee cup was not refilled until it had been empty over 15 minutes. It’s not like the place was mobbed-quite the contrary. We were one of three tables at the time. Really 2.5 stars, but, what can ya do with no half star system? Our server had no idea that we had been seated in her station, until she strolled out from the kitchen area. Then she practically ran over to take our order. Yes, we did notice. The other issue was that the managment/ownership has changed and our favorite server, Paula was no where to be seen. The man at the door/owner? was in a tear with the staff, constantly nit picking and bitching at his crew-nonstop. Yes, we noticed this, too. So, the service was off and the management seemed to be in a pissy mood. This did not make for a happy visit for us or apparently for your staff. There was a definite«mood» going on and I picked up on it right away. Get your act together, Encore. You should be a lot busier than you are. There is little competition in the area, happy up and get your team on the same page!

I work in the area and figured I’d have a healthy salad and have a dessert. I had a fabulous salad. I had previously only been there for breakfast and those experiences were really good. They have the typical sandwiches and salads on their menu for lunch. Crepes to skillets for breakfast. I was just disappointed that they didn’t have pie or cake or anything like that. They had a huge empty pie and cake case. It was just ice cream. There is something wrong with that. Otherwise they are OK for lunch or breakfast. The waitresses have been really nice. The area is filled with fast food places and has very few options to actually sit down and have a meal at a restaurant. They really could do more to exploit the need for a restaurant.
