History

Established in 1998.

In 1998, the Peach Family planted their vineyard in the middle of horse country on Versailles Road in Woodford County, KY. They began growing grapes for other wineries, and making some wine as a hobby. Soon after, the Peach family met wine consultants, growers, and winemakers that were impressed with the fruit they were producing. Chad hired Jim Wight to help him make wine for resale. The tasting room opened in December of 2010. The wines have won many medals and the label has won the «Best Label» competition given by the AG Credit Dept. Since, the farm is in horse country what better way to label the wines — the thoroughbred on the label, was painted by a local artist. The name «Prodigy» came from researching the farm and the horses that were born, bred and raced before the Peach family bought it. The Prodigy wines are the best quality that they can produce. Quality fruit makes quality wine. 15 of t wines are from of the fruit is locally grown by Prodigy & other local farms.

Meet the Business Owner

Lenée and Chad P.

Business Owner

Chad and Lenée Peach purchased the 63 acre farm in Woodford County and planned to move there. They built a barn and planted their 7 acre vineyard in 1998. They had planned to sell the fruit to other local wineries. The passion of wine and wine making slowly turned them into winery owners.

The farm is home to Chad, Lenée and their 3 children. It is also home to many animals including; dogs, cats, horses, ponies, peacocks, a rabbit, and a rooster. There are 2 ponds on the property with a flock of geese that have made the farm their home as well. The farm is only open on Sundays for self guided tours during the summer, the tasting room which is off-site is open year around with a nicely decorated boutique and wine bar atmosphere, where local musicians play on Friday evenings. Usually, the Peach family is working the tasting room on the weekends.
