CMP Tactical Lazer Tag Frankfort

Took my 16yo and a bunch of his friends last night. They had a ton of fun. Great staff! Hard to find after dark. Tucked back in an industrial park with zero lighting or signage. That’s my only complaint!

Had so much fun! Bring your friends. More ppl to play with, the better! If not, it’s fine because the staff will put u in a group of ppl. Many different activities! The staff is cool and nice. My friends came one hour late after the appointment time, and the staff was being cool and showing them around and teaching them the rules.
I will be coming back for more laser time! :)

While I was there for a birthday party, the staff took 30 minutes for the game to get started. I do not recommend anyone going here unless you want to waste your time/​money and be disrespected by the staff.

Awesome place for a birthday party, fun, great staff, great laser tag equipment and games.

Super super fun place for a group of friends. It’s not like the typical laser tag where you try to kill as many as you can and you’re ranked by the number of kills. Here, they have different stages and each stage is a different mission. It’s like call of duty in real life.
It’s a huge open area so plenty of places to run around. Wish they had more props to hide behind though. Guns were pretty heavy, but doable.
The only down side to the place was that they didn’t let us complete all the stages since we ran out of time. Wish they would’ve still at least tried to play it. :/​Also, one of the staff members wasn’t very nice. I felt like he was giving me attitude when I was asking questions about the game & he threw my sling at me when he unhooked it from my gun. :/​
Overall, was a very pleasant experience :)

Great, 5 out of 5. I couldn’t see rating it any lower unless I got scammed, ripped off, or insulted by the employees. Of course that is not the case, and those alone would be the sole purpose of a bad review because upon leaving a bad review about the action inside their warehouse-​arena environment would mean I lack the basic human motor skills to point and shoot while walking around, or the lack of infant level problem solving skills to realize the opponent coming around the corner with his laser gun raised is beating me when I have my gun lowered. I don’t lack those skills though so its fun! Anybody who would argue otherwise is looking for a watered down, dull experience where every encounter (Laser gun fire fight) is randomized; 50 – 50 chance you’ll win each fight. Sounds «fair» right? You get kills, I get kills we all have fun right? We all drive home with this false sense of accomplishment. That’s right FALSE sense of accomplishment. With a system like that where everyone is even and newbies do as well as veteran where does the motive come in to get better? Why come in on a regular basis just to be on-​par with little timmy and his 8 year old birthday party buddies who are visiting for the first time? The answer is you wouldn’t come in because the quality of the game would be sacrificed for the casual first timers looking for a «fair» game. And sadly the casuals are the majority, and the veterans the minority. So metaphorically speaking little timmy cries (the casuals), and little timmy gets results just like at home when he needs his bottle o’ milk. All in all this game of laser tag is competitive… if you cant get your ass kicked a couple times before dealing out the ass kicking dont come, but you will anyways and inevitably the company will be forced to hear your cries of mercy because you come in with $ 20 expecting the money you pay to be a guarantee that you’ll be good when in fact its not. Well kids… guess your next birthday/​bachelorETTE party should be booked at chucky cheese.

Sorry for the long review but I had to get it off my chest, they’re lucky I couldn’t give them negative stars.
Came here for my bachelor party last night, drove an hour and 20 minutes through traffic from Chicago with 8 of my friends. We booked a group event under the impression that meant it was private. We learned just prior to going that there were a couple other people in our party. We didn’t think this was a big deal considering the size of the field but boy were we wrong. Not only was there a group of young kids that joined our session but two kids that work there decided to play too. Still thinking this wasn’t a big deal we started the match. At first the two weren’t personally on my team, and let me tell you, it was barely possible to move. They totally dominated the match. There are games like king of the hill which you need to find the hill first, but being that they work there, they always new where it was. Plus the refs were there friends so that helped as well. So, if being literally 10x better then any other people in the room wasn’t enough, they had knowledge that nobody else had.
I voiced my complaints right away and their highly intelligent referee was under the assumption that I was complaining about losing. His solution was to put these two ringers on my team. I said, no, split them up, It doesn’t make sense to just put them on our team because then the other team would get destroyed. Well our illustrious referee said «you’ll see». Oh, and I did. Our team obviously came back from behind crushing the final 3 rounds and winning. Everyone on my team except these two kids could have sat in the corner and watched and we would have still won. Needless to say of our group of 9 split between the red and the blue team, none enjoyed themselves.
Pretty disgraceful that the complaints of the many wasn’t enough for them to separate the kids to make even teams. I mean they work there. They probably didn’t even have to pay.
Needless to say, they ruined our time. The hour trip wasn’t worth it and the $ 25 per person sure wasn’t worth it. We will never be returning.

The laser tag side of this place is awesome! Great gear and environment! It was pretty stupid though that the employees played with us… Even though we had reserved for a full party. And when it came to teams they wouldn’t split up. It seemed a little unfair as well when you see them giving orders to their teammates, or basically telling the non employees to go one way while they went another to do their missions customers are there to enjoy not watch the employees. I thought this was for the customer to have fun? Why not play when there is down time not ruining it for others?

So much fun! My husband and I did this as part of his Christmas present. We ended up in a time slot with two boys birthday parties and I thought it was going to be awful. The staff was great and made the parties mingle with each other «because it’s more fun to shoot your friends» and they split up me and my husband. My team kicked his team’s butt and a good time was had by all. I’m never going back to the traditional laser tag.

Really good time for some family fun, my kids nieces and nephews loved it, the one complaint I have is we got started late and had to finish early because other clients where waiting, besides that try it, the kids will love it.

Brought my kids and their friends here on a Sunday afternoon. It was well run, they played in a mocked up city environment and had a blast. The equipment was very good and the employees were professional. Great place!

Haven’t had this much adult/​kid fun in a long time! I booked this as a mom/​son date & was actually nervous about it for myself. I’ve only played the glow in the dark type of lazer tag twice before & my sons a pro. Needless to say it was awesome! I can’t wait to take the entire family there someday. The crew explained the rules of the games & all the people in the groups were very friendly and near the last few games we really became a unit. Fun, adrenaline pumping, & completely different than any other lazer tag place. Definitely try it!

I’ve taken my kids here the last two weeks and they will not stop talking about how much fun they have. The staff are friendly and helpful. Great place to have a kids party.

Always a good time. This isn’t the LaserTag from the late 80’s early 90’s. Real city structures. Seriously looking weapons. Easy to hit hesd targets. Fun for teens/​adults and at the same time. Recently remodeled and done very well

Preface: I went on Black Friday when it was BOGO admission, so for that price per person, I’d rate this experience higher than if I’d paid full price.
I think this is a fun time and definitely a great way to kill an afternoon/​evening. I went with a group of family members, and pretty much everyone on our team and the team we played against was an 8-​year-​old to 16-​year-​old boy. I guess that’s what I would expect, but it would be nice if there were certain times where it was 18+ or adult-​only games. I say this for a few reasons: 1) The kids kept interrupting the refs by asking stupid questions (ie: for bank robber game, «Is there enough money in the safe to buy a Maserati?») 2) A three-​foot tall kid is a much harder target to hit because they sometimes can’t be seen. 3) The refs were a lot less likely to make them play by the rules – these kids were running all over the place, meanwhile we walked fast and got penalized.
Overall it’s a pretty fun and inventive experience where it’s based on games and missions rather than notching kills.

DISCLAIMER — My experience here was based on a private Unilocal event with a bunch of players who have never been to CMP (minus three, who were seasoned, but still learning it seemed).
1. Get a bunch of fun loving cool people together.
2. Feed them some local pizza and salads that were tasty.
3. Give them «laser» guns that are modeled very much like real guns, pit them against each other, and let them have it.
4. Only one team can leave the arena alive. (Just kidding… but only one team can win the extra Unilocal swag!)
CMP Tactical did a great job teaching/​referring/​coaching us through some of the strategies of each game, and kept the game fun and fast paced the whole time we were there!
The games are truly tactical, and aren’t the typical «kill the whole other team» concept that you see at most other laser tag arenas… If you’ve ever played any first person shooters, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
King of the Hill: Get to one of two counters on the playing field, and trigger it for your team. Prevent the other team from taking control of the counter. Whoever has the most time controlling the counters wins.
Heist: Send your team up to steal money from safes that are encrypted. Put the money in a bag, and bring it to the drop point within time. Or prevent it.
Sabotage: Go after the enemy’s hardware box, and destroy it. Or defend it if you’re on the protecting team.
Search and Destroy: Decide where to set up your bomb (easy, medium, hard) for points (1, 3, 5, respectively). Once you’ve set up the bomb, defend the bomb until it blows up. Or if you’re on the opposite team, prevent the bomb from being activated or defuse the bomb.
This ain’t your grandpa’s laser tag kids… Head shots only, guns that are 5 lbs + that work mostly only through laser sights… Good stuff!
The refs were phenomenal, and highly suggested we keep a watch on the Facebook page since they release coupons all the time! But $ 25 for 1.5 hours of play isn’t too bad anyway!
Would definitely want to come back in the future with friends for a private party!

CMP tactical in Frankfort Illinois has commissioned and furnished a warehouse with interior buildings and obstacles and barriers and importantly a story line. This storyline varied from game to game. However it each case the main idea was to divide into two teams and achieve specific goals. These goals included safecracking, stealing money, just surviving, setting off (or disarming) very loud briefcase devices.
The gameplay is somewhat athletic. Naturally, there are lazer guns, and zapping each other in the head is the main activity. As a matter of fact, one must wear sensors and lights on a headband that make one look like HellBoy, especially when dead. See the movie (or read the comic) then play the game, and you’ll agree — Hellboy headgear.
There are ramps, and there are giant sized stairs to climb up and down to avoid taking the ramps. Much of the game play takes place on the second floor. However, when you were shot by the laser fun gun, you must proceed to the ground floor to the «respawn «area. that is where you come back to life and return to the game. everybody will be up-​and-​down the ramps or the giant steps numerous times. This really isn’t a game for people in wheelchairs, but, I suppose a CMP tactical lazer could make it so the second floor was off-​limits and then it would be fair to anybody in a wheelchair. but, I digress. The main take away from my experience with the CMP tactical lazer party in Frankfort Illinois was that it was very fun and I highly recommend that anybody who is looking for some interesting team building give it a try.

One of my friends is an Elite member and invited his fiancé and myself to the Unilocal Elite event last night (10÷16÷14) which was out of this world. Lazer tag to me has always been seen as a nerf style laser gun with a lazer vest in a small arena, however this was a whole different experience.
Coming from the western suburbs to Frankfort wasn’t hard but once in town the building itself wasn’t too easy to find. I was wondering how it would be since it was tucked into a set of warehouses in practically the middle of nowhere.
Once stepping into the building and seeing everything that was offered at this Elite event and CMP I was blown away. The size of the arena blew me away and the weaponry that we used was very life like as well. I know someone in the Army who has shot an actual AK 47, so being able to simulate that by using the special gun, the lazer AK 47 was so cool. Being able to connect with other Elite members and Unilocalers as we played a variety of missions was also beyond amazing. I don’t think I would be able to gather that many friends for such a fun time of lazer tag.
Lastly, I would highly recommend CMP Tactical Lazer Tag in Frankfort to anyone who would love a more realistic style time. Thanks again for such a fun event and to CMP for providing the fun.

Great fun! Our party had 9 13-​year-​old boys, a 16 year old and my husband and I, and we all really enjoyed ourselves. We did 5 or 6 missions that all had a goal, leaving us with a more realistic battle experience than traditional lazer tag. I like that we didn’t come out of there with black hands and knees which means the place is kept pretty clean. The refs were fair and focused on safety. The equipment was all in perfect order or quickly swapped out if there was any issue.
We used a Groupon that included pizza, cake and pop. I think it was a good deal and it was nice to get a party room in which to drop our stuff. I understand that they have deals on their Facebook page. We played for two 1−½ hour sessions or a total of 3 hours.
The location is difficult to find. Getting to Van Drive is easy enough but there is no signage on the street as of Fall 2014. It’s in the back of the first warehouse area. They recently changed to a CMP Tactical, so maybe the signage is on it’s way.
Finally, Unilocal sometimes stacks their reviews. I am in no way affiliated with CMP nor was I in anyway influenced by Unilocal to write this. Just a Mom from the ‘burbs with a good, fun, unique, affordable birthday party experience.

I had my 11 year old son’s birthday party here with his 16 year old brother, 3 of his older brothers friends, and 4 of his school /​church friends.
This place is just awesome. 2 stories of pure combat awesomeness. A variety of FPS style games like bank heist and king of the hill. The laser guns look Tacticool plus they have ammo and spawn rules which really adds to the tactical aspects of the various games. Both thevolder teens and younger boys loved it and I loved it as well. Oh it also wore the kids out too so were had a nice quiet ride home with all the kids ;)
