So disappointed because I really wanted to like this place. Convenient and in expensive, but sadly it’s Just not good. The food tastes like… well nothing. Just the Grease they cooked it in. We had the two delight, beef chow foon, chicken fried rice and fried dumplings.(The dumplings are good) everything else not so much. Pass on this place…

Fast, cheap Chinese food. Delicious! The egg roll was pretty greasy but the meat(I got beef w broccoli) was so tender and the veggies still slightly crunchy! Lo mein was average, nothing special

So, only because the food was terrific and we’re nursing some terrible hangovers, I decided to give it another try. The delivery man mentioned my previous review when he dropped the food off, but he was very friendly and polite just as he was last time. The big difference this time was in the rest of the experience. The woman on the phone was much more polite and seemingly organized. The food took less than 45 minutes to get here and was delicious. I’m glad I gave it a second try and I hope that my last experience here was just a fluke.

This is the best cheap American-style Chinese food I’ve had in the area, including all the Route 9 places(not counting Sichuan Gourmet, which is also great but aims at a more Chinese crowd). The brown sauce you get here in dishes like ginger beef and string beans is really well flavored and light, not gooey and mucilaginous like it is in most places. The orange beef is actually good, very lightly fried, nicely flavored, and crispy, not leathery or too sweet. We haven’t had a bad dish here(we haven’t put any little warnings or un-smiley faces next to certain dishes in our copy of the take-out menu, which can’t be said for some other prominent nearby places). If you want this kind of Chinese food, I really very highly recommend it. The cooks there really seem to care about making their food appetizing and good to eat, which is more than I can say for most places of this ilk. Delivery is usually prompt, for us anyway. I’ve glanced at the negative reviews here and am at a loss to explain them. Everything we’ve had here is just a cut above the usual level you get at places like this. I’ve been to lots of American-style Chinese restaurants in lots of towns, and this is absolutely solid, reliably better than you could reasonably expect, which is all we ask of a place like this.

This is a great, cheap place to get Chinese when you don’t feel like driving very far. I really enjoy the egg drop soup, calamari, and tangerine chicken. It’s family run and seems to be constantly busy. With such few staff, they really try their hardest to get food to their customers as quickly as possible. Great hidden gem!

This was absolutely the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. I took a risk by ordering a lot of food from here to last a few days. I have never thrown away ALL of the food that i have ordered from any other place. My stomach isn’t doing well and better be safe. So here is what I ordered that was awful: Crab Rangoon: cold, greasy, all onion and no crab General gau chicken: not crispy and hardly any sauce. Basically a lump of chunks of hard chewy chicken Vegetable chow fun: hard dry noodles all stuck to each other. The only vegetables were a few pieces of broccoli Moo Shu Pork: this was the best of the orde but too salty and pork was hard to find and way over cooked, but otherwise edible Fortune cookies rocked It is all in the garbage now. Isn’t there any decent Chinese delivery in the Framingham area?

On my first and final visit to Star House, I ordered a Kung Pao jumbo shrimp combo plate for lunch to go. After a bit of a long wait, considering that the place was empty, my order emerged. Drove to the adjacent train station to wait for the train into Boston. Pulled into my parking space, opened the bag and discovered, much to my dismay that they had«accidently» neglected to add a fork or napkin. Sigh, Drove back to the restaurant. Waited 2 minutes for the counter help to put down her iPad game. Explained my problem. Took 2 minutes for her to find a plastic fork, and a(single) napkin… thank you very much. Drove back to train station. Opened my long anticipated meal. Here’s what I was greeted by: massive quantity of steamed white rice, two tiny puddles of the alleged Kung Pao shrimp, consisting of 90% chopped celery, 2 pieces of green pepper and 7 «jumbo» shrimp(I counted) each smaller than a cashew, in a nondescript dark brown sauce. The only positive was that the 3 slices of scallion pancake were very good. I am a little surprised at the glowing reviews for this place. It seems that my experience was more that them just having a bad day. With all the choices in the area, I will be looking elsewhere. I suggest you do the same.

Never. EVER. Again. Ordered for delivery on a Saturday night. They said 40 – 60 mins, I say OK that’s reasonable for a Saturday night. It took them 2 hours to get to my house. Starving, I dive in only to find that every single thing I ordered was ice cold. Literally, ice cold, like it had been sitting outside for 2 hours. On top of that, the food really was not that good or impressive or even close to any of these good reviews. The General Gau’s chicken was flavorless and lacking any real chicken. The beef terriyaki sticks had the consistency of tasteless rubber; the lo mein was flavorless as well, and my crab rangoons that I love so dearly were a strange green color inside with very strange taste. I haven’t been on Unilocal in over a year. So if this place is bad enough to make me hop on Unilocal again, you better believe it.

This place is amazing. Besides having the best Chinese food in the area out of the three restaurants I’ve tried, my fiancé and I have had rather heartwarming experiences with their delivery guys. The first time ordering food from Star House, we received a call from a rather out of breath and stressful sounding delivery man. «You are three-five-nine, yes?» he asked. When we corrected him that we were 369 he exclaimed, «oh, three-SIX-nine? OHMYYYYGAAWWWD!» It was so loud I could hear him on the cell phone from the other side of the room. He arrived a few minutes later and departed with a fond«Merry Christmas!»… in the middle of June. We could barely stop laughing long enough to eat our food. The only time this place has let us down is when it’s closed. 5 Stars, easily.

I just moved to the area and was in search of some delicious Chinese delivery last Friday night. I called Star House around 6:45 and ordered one spring roll, crab rangoons, szechuan string beans and white rice. At 7:50, I called back wondering where my food was. I was told that the driver would be there any minute. He finally showed up about 15 minutes later. I would not mind the hour and twenty minute delivery time if I was warned ahead of time, but I was not. Worse yet, ALL of the food was cold. Not even lukewarm! I received an egg roll instead of a spring roll, there were green peppers in the string beans(I would not have ordered them if this had been included on the menu) and the crab rangoons were frozen. I was very disappointed in my experience here and will not be ordering again.
