After 9 West Mastering closed at this location, Dana white launched Specialized Mastering in the offices of ADA (now Nimbit). We are now celebrating 10 years here, serving the independent music community.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Owner & Chief Engineer, Dana J. White —

Dana has been mastering album releases for CD since 1995. He has worked on award winning projects for some of the great indie talents as well as recording legends. He also has extensive experience with recording/​mixing, broadcast audio, CD manufacturing, mastering for cassette, and CD-​ROM.

Dana has studied music performance and sound recording technology at the University of Massachusetts-​Lowell (BMus). He is conversant with many aspects of composition, arranging, performance, and recording production in all major genres.

In 2001 Dana founded Specialized Mastering after working for 9WEST Mastering where he served full time as principal mastering engineer. He is currently working in Portland and returns for projects in Boston.
