My Macbook Pro laptop spent 3 days at Geek Squad/Best Buy in Framingham to fix a reduction in speed following an upgrade to Maverick OS. They said the memory upgrade didn’t work and they’d have to try ordering other brands of memory than the PNY. I took my Macbook Pro laptop directly to PC Exchange in Saxonville. PC Exchange’s technician noticed there was a screw missing in the laptop case. The technician said my 4G of memory should be plenty and figured out the real solution to my problem, Repair Permissions and Verify Disk, and now my laptop is fast again! Plus PC Exchange replaced the screw that Geek Squad lost for FREE! When I called Geek Squad to tell them about their bad call regarding my laptop’s problem and the missing screw, the repair guy was completely indifferent and rude. Learn from my mistake and go to PC Exchange first!

DONOTGOTOTHISPLACE. RIPOFF. They misdiagnosed my laptop as having a broken screen, to which they replaced at the cost of $ 150. I took my «fixed» laptop home excited to use it again. I turned it on and the screen still didn’t work! I returned it TWICE again to be fixed, both times I was told it had been repaired. FINALLY after the 3rd time returning it to be repaired, they found out it had to do with a cord linking the screen to the actual computer, which they replaced, but they DIDNOT and WOULDNOT refund my money for the screen they replaced which wasn’t even broken to begin with! I’m not even sure if they have trained staff who are competent or skilled in computer repair and diagnosis. I was excited to go to this place in order to support a local business that isn’t a best buy or another large company. Disappointed with the customer service experience and the lack of communication and clarity. Sadly won’t be returning here, ever.

I want to give these losers negative stars I could. I have never been so disrespected in my life. The man who owns it… tall, ugly and wears glasses is really rude. I wont get into it. Just dont go there!!! Hes not worth my time to even write more!

We recently bought a desktop computer from the new location in the center of town. They had what we were looking for at a good price; however, 1 wk later, the computer would not boot at all. My husband brought it back to them and they claim it was due to a virus. The only software my husband downloaded was anit-virus software. Ironic I would say. Of course it is not covered under warranty and since they don’t supply the restore disk you need, we have to now pay them $ 50 to fix it. Somehow I find it hard to believe that we have a virus. Grrrr…

The hard drive on our desktop got a virus, so we took it in to the PC Exchange to be wiped. The assistant said«5 business days,» but it wound up being about 3 weeks. We had to drop by in person twice before they finally got to our work order. However, when we finally did get our computer back, we found the drive virus-free and all original software properly restored, plus the tech had added a beautiful screen saver, gratis. Our tentative conclusion is that they are seriously understaffed, but when they eventually get to the work, the work is good.

I always hate having to write an update where I change my opinion so much… but I’m really disappointed with their attempts to fix my laptop. My screen is not properly back-lighting on the left side. My keyboard is also very selective about letting me use the h key. We took the laptop in and let them know that we would be away for a week, so we wouldn’t need it back until we returned home. After 2 weeks I finally got my laptop back. The screen was better but the keyboard was still anti-h key. My husband took the computer back during his lunch hour. They cleaned the keyboard again(I told them several times I had done this myself, and it wasn’t the key or the contact because I checked them). We went in this past week, where they finally said they’d need to replace the keyboard, but they had to order one. They’d take the cost of what we already paid towards the keyboard repairs and put it towards the cost of the new keyboard. I’m thinking this is good. I know it can be hard to trouble shoot keyboards and I’m glad they were so willing to offer us a discount. however…my screen is busted again…3 weeks after being fixed. So I’m left to wonder if they actually did anything to trouble shoot my computer or if they went for what was cheapest for them. They had my laptop a week past when they said it would be done, and it still isn’t working right. sorry, I just can’t justify 5 stars for you guys anymore. You may be willing to keep checking it out, but it should have been fixed the first time, not the 4th. because I ate that I can’t type words because alf te time te key doesn’t work properly.
