A-1 Tree Service

Lightening struck an enormous spruce tree beside our home, creating a large crack in the trunk. We needed the tree removed quickly before winds threatened to push it onto the house. I called A1 and Tony was at our home within the hour. He came with his crew and equipment the next day. They carefully removed the tree branch by branch. Then they cleaned up the area and even raked over the leaves to cover any tracks. Incredibly, he found a way to do the job more efficiently than expected and charged me less than his initial quote. We were so grateful to have the dangerous tree removed. Kudos to A1 for being quick, careful and fair!

Tony at A-​1 is a nice guy who cuts down trees like any other company. The problem with this company is that they do not respond to call backs when a job is partially done in one day.
I made the mistake of paying Tony for cutting down some trees and then grinding the stumps.
He claimed he would be back to grind the stumps. This was six months ago. I have called four times to follow up on the stumps. I was only able to speak with a lady in the office once. She said I was on a ‘List” and that they were very busy. This was a month ago. I called back again this week, no answer, I left a message but they did not call back. The office person is definitely not customer friendly and may be a family member. Her attitude is such that she doesn’t care about keeping customers and the companies reputation. She is too busy to return phone calls or to make things right. When you pay thousands of dollars for labor, you would think the company would want you back as a repeat customer. Not her…
I should have known this company was sketchy when Tony Moralis asked to have the check made out to him directly, not to the company name. I should not have paid the entire amount, but I trusted him. Foolish me.
I have used A-​1 in the past with no issues. I would not recommend this company again, even if they bid cheaper.
Stumpy’s tree service is much more professional for about the same price. Their personnel and equipment are far superior. They actually answer the phone and care about customer service.

We had 4 VERY large trees (Maple and Oaks) in our back yard and after receiving 5 different estimates we decided to go with A-​1. They offered the best quote so we went ahead an scheduled an appointment.
A-​1 was able to come by 2 weeks ahead of time to get the work done and you can’t imagine how much we appreciated that! The owner of the company was extremely polite and professional and so were all of the A-​1 employees. They worked efficiently and carefully, they even stopped cutting at one point because they found a baby blue jay nest that we later relocated to a near by tree. I am very very pleased with the work done and we plan to use them again for our front yard! I highly recommend A-​1 Tree Services to anyone looking to get work done!

Just had a tree come crashing into my home. The next day A1 came out and quickly gave me a bid. Crew was fantastic. Huge job removing 7 big trees and these guys made a dangerous job seem like child’s play. In addition they cleaned up after themselves like they were never there. I will never call anyone else to take care of any tree issues I have. Just so you know I’m very picky about people who work for me and these guys are just fantastic. Highly recommend. We had several large trees that needed to be removed and a large pine by our house that needed a major trim. They came in at an excellent rate and the crew was professional and quick! My husband and I were very impressed and he’s very particular.
We told our neighbor who was having trouble finding someone to remove a large dead tree on her property at a reasonable price… she got a quote and had the work done within 24 hours.
Family business I would HIGHLY recommend!

They came out to the house to take down a tree and add some cables to an old maple tree to help prevent the tree from splitting from snow this winter. Within a day, the cable fell out of the tree… not sure how it was they installed it, but safe to say, not very well. When we called to have them come back, we left a message and were told someone would call back. No one did, and so far it’s been three messages, no return call.
I would say they were great for taking down the tree, but when it comes to fixing something they did wrong, once they have your money, you won’t hear from them again.
Given the lack of response to their problematic work I can’t recommend them.

We had tree damage from Irene. They came on the same day and gave us a quote. They removed the trees within a week and ground down the stumps within the next week or so. Did take some followup calls, but they were doubtlessly swamped. No one else called us back, period, even a couple of places that promised to give us a quote. The price was extremely reasonable. Highly recommended, would definitely use again.

A-​1 removed 7 trees from my yard. They were quick, efficient and by far the lowest of the 5 quotes I got.
