Muse Paintbar

I’ve been to more than one paint night with Muse, and with different instructors, and see there is consistency with teaching process and skills at Muse. I added a bit of my own creativity to each project to make it «my own,» and Muse staff were encouraging and inspiring. The atmosphere is fun, uplifting, and helps you actually accomplish the project at hand. The offerings are all interesting – it can be difficult to decide what to do next!
Food offerings are fun and appropriate for painting. It is AWESOME that they have sparkling mineral water, too, for people who don’t want soda or an alcoholic drink. Desserts are delicious!
I’ve attended paint nights at other venues and return to Muse and choose Muse over other places because of the quality of instruction, quality of spacial layout that lends itself for comfort while creating, access to paint to alter options as you wish, and overall atmosphere. Muse is organized, professional, and incredibly FUN!

Such a fun girls night. We did a Glass Vase painting. The instruction was good, staff was fun! I’m pretty happy with my result.

A unique and fun experience! I set up a private party and Sarah was a huge help — she made it so easy! The vibe of the place was super energetic and creative. Tatianya was the BEST instructor!!! We are already planning to return soon!

Great date night idea or out with a group of friends. You. paint while.drinking and eating if.you.wish. I love most of the paintings they help you.paint. and you get to bring it home. How cool

Had a great night last night! It was our first time we were a group of six and really enjoyed ourselves. The instruction is great I’d say just the right amount that keeps it fun because let’s face it this isn’t a class at RISD alright. Only issue was the paint was out so long it made it clumpy and a little hard to work with. Our instructor Rachel kept it fun and the music was very inspiring lol!
The beer and wine selection is awesome and really reasonably priced. The light bites are great for this place, you really only have time for small finger foods while your work is drying here and there so it’s all good. Cheese and crackers and bruschetta were our snacks of choice both were great.
Overall we had a really fun time! I would for sure be back to make another masterpiece!

It was okay, not as much fun as other places I’ve been. We went Dec 12^th and the instructor (tatiyana) talked so much about nothing that she made it aggravating! She also took 10 – 15 min breaks too much ‘to let paint dry’ but she was really helping bartend (which wasn’t necessary). Looking around you could see everyone getting bored with all the waiting :/​The seating is strange, a lot of seats are back-​to the instructor. I’d go again with a different instructor. She was very nice but was definitely a huge buzz kill!

Last night (as part of a bachelorette party in the private room) I attended my 2^nd paint night experience. (The first being at the Muse location in Providence) — this review is for the Patriot Place location.
The night, over all, was fun. We all left with the finished painting. I take my issue with some of the actions of the instructor. She was certainly friendly and enthusiastic, however, we are paying you for your time and attention — and at several points she left the class and left us to try to figure things out for ourselves when we had questions that went unanswered. Her first absence was because «I need to go eat my dinner» and then various steppings-​out to seemingly chit chat with the girls behind the «bar» while we tried to figure our way through our paintings. She would also leave the class without turning the music back up (she would turn the volume down when needing to give instruction) and this led us to having to play music off of a cell phone — coming out of the speaker… of a cell phone.
Hoping they see this review and coach their «Muses» to eat prior to teaching so we have the full assistance that we’ve paid for — especially since the establishment gets $ 450 for the use of the private room and there were just 7 of us)
This differed from my Providence experience where our instructor left us only once, briefly, seemingly to just use the bathroom — otherwise we had his undivided attention.

This is essentially two separate reviews. Five stars for the painting experience and instructors, 3 stars for the bar/​food and everything else.
First, the painting. I’ve never done a paint night before and this place specializes in it. It is an excellent group activity, open to even the least artistic people. I do enjoy art, so I guess I appreciate a bit more. The instructor was very friendly and made it simple to follow the steps in creating the painting (when the 2 bachelorette groups weren’t screaming over her). You can free form of you want or add your own twists to the painting. Each paint night, a different picture and level of difficulty is available to do, so multiple trips would not be redundant.
Unfortunately, the sipping part (drinking) was lackluster. They don’t have a «bar» per se, but a counter where they serve a select number of bottled beers and wine. No mixed drinks. The food options are very limited, too. I was going to get the assorted cheese plate, but was told they were out of all but one type of cheese. How are they out of a primary menu item at 8pm on Friday? I settled on chips and hummus, which I’m positive someone just dumped out a bag of smashed Stacey’s Pita Chips and Sabra Hummus into a basket.
What was not their fault was some woman who decided to go into the men’s bathroom for 10 minutes and then exit, clearly hammered, leaving pee all over the toilet seat. First night drinking?
Overall, definitely a place to check out, but maybe have a few drinks before going.

We went with a group of 10 girls. We are a lively bunch to say the least on a good day. It was pretty quiet in there that night. Everyone was concentrating on their paintings. There are really no artists amongst us but I’ll be we all actually painted and all our pictures were great!!! Instructor wish I knew her name was great!!!

I went to Muse with a group of friends. You know it’s a good time when half way through the night you start talking about when you should come back! The instructor went through the process at just the right pace and with great encouragement. Great selection of drinks and snacks.

Muse is a great place to get in touch with your inner artist. I went with a group of friends for a girls night out and we had a blast! The menu and beverage options are terrific — not overpriced and fast, and you can start a tab — and the staff are super helpful and friendly. They sat us all together so we could laugh and talk while we paint, and have fun together, and we took lots of photos. For the more hesitant artists, Lizzie the instructor walked us through each step with a friendly and careful manner — even the most skeptical had a beautiful painting to take home along with some fun memories! Highly recommended for a special evening out… just make sure you make reservations in advance as seating is limited and the sessions do sell out.

I chose Muse to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends. I’d never attended a Paint Night before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. My experience exceeded my expectations! Our group was seated together, enabling us to socialize as we painted. The pace of the evening and the instruction was perfect. The bar choices were fairly extensive (wine and beer, no mixed drinks), and everyone found something that was a favorite. I’m picky about food, but the munchies were tasty and portioned for sharing. I would definitely recommend Muse, and plan to go back soon.

Went with a group of friends and had a great time. I am not artistic and was a little nervous. The instructor was fantastic, took her time and explained in detail each step. Will definitely return.

I feel bad needing to rate this only a three because I do not think this was any fault of the establishment. This was my first time here and I do not want to write it off yet.
I was there and there were two VERY loud groups painting on this particular afternoon. I am all for having a good time and enjoying the moments at a paint bar, but these individuals were down right rude. The poor instructor was trying to gain command of the room but the unruly bunch was making it very hard for her to do her job. The instructions ended up being broken, shoddy and hard to hear. Again, to no fault of the instructor or the establishment.
Thankfully my friend and myself are familiar with painting techniques and are confident in our skills, but others in the room you could tell were lost and needed more guidance.
I would like to try again here, hoping in the future it was just a bad day and the two unruly groups were a fluke.
**PLEASE INVEST IN BETTER PAINT. Your purple pigment should not have the issues that it did with sticking to the canvas.**

This place just opened this month. The atmosphere is fun and artsy. There are many different types of pictures you can sign up for — something for everyone. Because it is brand new I think they need to work out a few kinks. The person instructing the group goes very fast, not really stopping to make sure people are keeping up. We had to ask her to slow down a few different times. Also, it is very hard to hear what she is saying because the music is loud — and we were up front. The music is fun and adds to the atmosphere but she should turn it down when instructing. It’s great that you can order wine and beer while painting — but the food is horrendous. I would hope to get some unique snack-​type food presented in an artsy sort of way — fun containers, cute presentation etc. What you get is very bland food in a plastic basket.
I would definitely go back — I just wouldn’t order any food. And I’m sure the instruction will get better as time goes on. Overall a fun experience.
