Established in 2001.

I have been doing Henna since I was growing up. My mother is an artist. She lets her art flow though many mediums and mehandi (as henna is called in India) is one of that Medium. I used to do Henna on myself and others, whoever would want to get Mehndi done. People started asking if I could do Henna for them and were willing to pay me. I had done Henna on my hands for a celebration and one acquaintance asked me if I could do Bridal henna for her friends daughter who was getting married. I was skeptical & she insisted. I agreed and from there I got couple More Henna gigs, & also the restaurant took my contact info (where the event was held). They sent some clients my way for henna. This is how I got started and people see my work, my speed and they call me to do Henna at their events. So Next time you are planning a event give me a call or contact me via email.

My name is Jumana, Professional artist with a design gallery of Indian, Pakistani, Arabic, and bridal Mehndi designs. I am henna artist practicing this art for the last 12 years professionally. I have always been committed to providing artistic, professional services and making my clients experience with henna/​Mehendi a unique, enjoyable and an unforgettable one.

I have traveled a great deal (throughout Asia and North America) & have practiced my passion for henna.

I have also taught courses and conducted seminars on the intricate art of henna.

I have done at many events places Including Museum of Arts, Ridley library, Discovery Museum in Jersey, Harley Davidson Of Newcastle & Smyrna, Bloomingdales In King of Prussia & Bloomingdales of Willow grove, Kimmel Center For Summer solstice celebration.

Jumana was hired for a corporate event celebrating Asian culture. She was a hit with the crowd and provided great, detailed henna tattoos. She provided books for people to flip through and select a design. As far as the pre-​planning, she was communicative and flexible as well, which made it easy for us as well. I would definitely hire her again for future events!

Depends on what you like. She’s definitely fast at applying the designs. they are more tailored to be quick and thick versus timely and intricate, which can be good for group functions where there are lots of hands waiting for henna. I think there was something mixed into the henna that we had a reaction to.

Twice (or maybe three times… at least twice) now I’ve hired Jumana Bootwala for an annual youth event held at my Unitarian Universalist church that draws about 50 – 70 teenagers from a handful of states. She is fantastic. Over the course of two and a half hours about twenty-​five youth were able to get small-​medium designs. She works quickly and efficiently. She brought along multiple binders with pictures of previous work, but was also willing to discuss new «custom» ideas.
Also, Jumana is REALLY nice. She was great to work with from the perspective of someone hiring her for an event (good communication, reasonable rates, etc. etc.), but also really sweet on a more personal level. She remembered some of the things we talked about the first year and was able to ask about how specific things were going in my life the second year. So awesome!
I highly suggest hiring Jumana. Great to work with.

Jumana and her daughter were the henna artists at my friend’s Mehndi. They worked for hours of a lot of people and all of their designs were gorgeous. I’ve had henna done before but Jumana’s work was both beautiful and done very quickly. Her henna is perfumed with a light clove scent that was so much more pleasing than the henna scent I am used to. She was able to translate a floral design I picked from her sample book of someone’s foot, and wrap my hands and wrists in the delightful design.
She was pleasant and fun to talk to while I was getting my design done (which took all of 4 minutes). The rest of the bridal party also got equally intricate designs and we are still emailing each other about the number of people who are stopping us on the street to ask about them a week after the wedding.
Wonderful job! Wish I were going to more indian weddings in Philly so I could get more of her henna designs on me!!!

Since my hand is on picture #2 I figured I just had to write a review praising my first Henna experience ever!
After browsing through the many intricate and traditional designs I decided that I wasn’t feeling flowery enough for most of them. After seeing a whole page for Chinese New Year designs I was psyched to go for my Monkey (because it’s a freaking monkey!). But Jumana was honest and friendly enough to explain that she never did the design before, and that it probably wouldn’t come out to the best of abilities.
So instead I decided to be the pretentious one and get my astrological sign done on my hand. and the water bearing Aquarius is still looking dapper to this day.

First thing first. Has there ever been a cooler name than Jumana Bootwala?!
Me thinks not.
As for her services, sweet stuff. She was at the Unilocal Elite Event at Palace at the Ben in Philly and seeing as how I had never really done any henna stuff to myself, I figured, why not. When in Philly, right?
And so I sat down and told her to put a henna Unilocal burst on my face. (Yep, somebody drank the Kool-​aid). It turned out awesome and it cracks me up every time I look in the mirror to see my company’s logo on my face.
Hehe, yeah, I’m a dork. Sue me :)

Jumana is a very nice woman who does a nice job.
I saw her during the first Philly Elite Event. I got my seat at the table towards the end of the night, so we were able to chat a little bit about how she became a profession henna artist. She was very friendly and that can help people that are afraid of even a temporary tattoo.
If you do need a henna artist, she’s your woman. And please, do yourself a favor and pick an intricate design. I believe that’s where her talent really shows.

Jumana was the henna artist for the first ever Unilocal elite event at the Palace at the Ben, and she was amazing. From start to finish, she was professional, courteous and reliable and was open to custom requests as well as offering her beautiful traditional designs.
Her artwork is lovely, and it was so cool to see a roomful of people walking around with her designs. I’d definitely work with her again, and highly recommend that you seek her out if you ever need any henna designs.

While she didn’t inscribe any henna tattoos on me directly, I could see the results of her handiwork immediately, as she was doing her thing at a party in Philly this past week. A line of satisfied customers streamed from her table, and when I spoke to her, she was happy to talk and get in photos!
