Art Trooper

Amazingly fun place to take groups of kiddos or just go along with your family. We took our Cub Scout pack here tonight and they all loved it! Perfect activity! Took us just over an hour for them all to design and paint their own plates. The staff is amazing and made it fun for all.

I went to Art Trooper last week for Spring Break with friends. My boyfriend’s mom told us about it. I was a little worried there would be a lot of small kids and not real fun for college students. I was very surprised. There were so many activities to choose from like clay, pottery painting, mosaics, jewelry making, and glass art. There were projects I’ve never seen before at other studios, so it was really hard to choose. There were families there and a couple on a date, too. But, everyone talked to each other which made the atmosphere fun. The staff was also fun and do all the cleaning. I like that the ceramic paints are environmentally safe and food safe. I painted a vase. My boyfriend made a mosaic cross. The studio fees were only $ 3.50 per person which is a lot less than anywhere else I’ve been too so I thought it was reasonable for a college student. If I had to make any changes I wish the hours were longer. We had to leave by 7pm on a Friday night. I wanted to stay and make another project. I plan on going back when I’m in town.

I wish I could like Art Trooper more.
In general I love paint your own pottery places. They’re usually fun, relaxing, and you get to make something cute for your kitchen or home.
I’ve been to Art Trooper a few times. They have a few different options to create something and be artistic, including the pottery painting, mosaics, and jewelry making.
On my last visit I was a little disappointed. I wish they had more selection of pieces and items for pottery painting. What I wanted to do was out of stock. Because of the lack of options, I just chose to paint a standard mug. I also wish the ambiance was a little nicer. The place was so cold last time that I put my coat back on and kept it on (hard to paint with your coat on). There was music playing in the back room but not up front where customers were. The place was so quiet that I felt uncomfortable talking because I felt like the owner and other guests would hear my entire conversation. The prices also seem to be a little high. It was about about 46 dollars for two people to paint two mugs (we were there for about an hour/​hour and a half and you pay for the pieces plus studio time).
My recent experience at Art Trooper left something to be desired. However, I know they do adult only nights, which could be fun. Kids might also enjoy the classes they offer. I do think there are a few things Art Trooper could improve upon (play music, regulate the temperature, offer more pottery selection, reduce prices/​offer more deals) in order to make the experience more fun and comfortable for all.

My daughter had her birthday party there and loved it. It seems the Northshore is lacking birthday party options. Her friends and her had a great time. The pieces that were included in the price were larger/​nicer than I expected. The owner and her son were very friendly and accommodating. I appreciate that she only makes you pay for the number of kids that actually show up. I do wish she had little reminder cards for the parents to remind them when the fired pieces would be ready to be picked up. All in all a good experience. Expensive but not more than the competition.

Paint your own pottery, create a mosaic, make some jewelry — if you’re creative this is your place!
Art Trooper would be great for a group outing offering up a lot of space. I also believe that they offer many different specialized art classes.

Art Trooper was a lot of fun. Friday nights from 7 to 9pm is Adult Night. So, you grab some of your friends, pick out a piece of pottery to paint (or coffee mugs, or jewelry stands, or plates) and then you pick out your paints, and away you go! Ms. Ann (who owns the establishment) was super friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our time here and it was a different way to spend a Friday night. I am excited to see our finished pieces, we get to pick them up next week. The pieces were priced at an affordable price and overall I felt the experience was worth what we payed. It was relaxing and enjoyable.
