I was told I needed to be the first appointment so I could practice on the actual course before the DMV opened. Once I got there, he wouldn’t allow me to practice on the course because I didn’t pay an additional $ 30 over the $ 50 fee that I paid.
I didn’t need special instructions from him because I’ve been riding for a long time. However, it’s obvious everyone needs to practice on the actual course using a scooter that they’re not familiar with. By not allowing me to do so, I can only assume he wanted me to fail so I would have to pay him again.
There are better people on Craig’s List that don’t play games by making you choose options or stopping you from practicing on the actual course. There’s at least one other service that charges a flat fee of $ 65. No options, no games, you pass or retest free. In hindsight, that’s the service I should have used.

I was a bit sceptical about renting through Tom at first. I figured I’d do the riders safety course and make it a sure bet, but I’m glad I saved the money and the time, because Tom is a great instructer and an all around great dude. He taught me all the basics and specifics of exactly how to pass the test. He’s an expert on the course and how it works, down to even the way the ground is sloped and how to compensate. If I hadn’t done the practice before the test I wouldn’t have passed, hands down. Take option B and pay the $ 80, Tom might as well hand you your license right then and there. Definitely recommended.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I’m not a new motorcycle rider, but haven’t ridden in a few years, so I was a little nervous about taking the m1 test. After meeting Tom all of the fears melted away. Tom took all the time I needed to explain every aspect of the test. He taught me about the specific DMV course I was on (Westminster DMV), and made sure I was confident to take the test.
The day of my test Tom was early and allowed me to get a little practice in before my test. He spent the few minutes before the exam going over all the areas he noticed that I needed to remember. But most of all he took the time to calm my nerves and mentally prepare me for the exam. Everything that Tom had taught me was on the test. Exactly (even the inconsistent testers) as he had showed me.
There is no way I could have passed the first time without his instruction. This is the best service without a doubt. Give him a call, you will not be disappointed, I’m not and I will be recommending TRK Scooter to everyone I know !!

If you’re trying to get your motorcycle license, this is the place to go. The owner is one of the nicest guys you’ll meet and he’s been riding for a long time so he knows pretty much all there is to know about riding.
He met me early in the morning at the course I was going to take the test on and walked me through every bit of it. He knows how the courses slope and can instruct you what to do to compensate for the slopes. He’ll practice with you till he knows you’re ready, and by the time you take the test, it comes naturally.
If you’re planning on just renting the scooter and doing his option 1, I advise against it. Unless you’ve ridden a motor scooter before, it’ll be hard. I’ve ridden a bike for a couple years now and riding that motor scooter was completely different. His option 2 isn’t that much more and you get the benefit of learning exactly how to do the course.

I have been riding all sorts of Motorbikes for over 20 years now and need to get my M1 License for work. I hadn’t been on a bike in two years and didnt own a bike. After watching the utube vids of guys failing the riders skills test, I realized I needed SERIOUS practice. I also needed to rent a bike and TRK came up when I did my search. They are located in Orange County, and I anm in the Valley but let me tell you, it was WAY WORTH the drive South as I passed my test on the first go. How? Thanks to the Owner Tom… I called him and asked when he could coach me… then got on the DMV website and confirmed my test appt on the same day as my practice session with him.
The bottom line here is that this guy knows the ins and outs of most of the courses like in Costa Mesa, OC, Westminister etc… for instance on the outside of the circle as you enter in Costa Mesa is a decline, therefore you need to apply more brakes…(he will explain that to you).
That morning, one hr before the DMV opened you can practice on the same course you will do the test on. after they open at 8, no more practicing… sounds easy right? WRONG. I jumped on my rented scooter and tried to ride the course… could not stay within the lines which is an automatic fail. I immediately felt like well thats it… there’s no way I am passing this test even with all my previous experience… but then Tom walked me thru the course step by step… got me setup on the bike just right… how to apply brakes and throttle at the same time etc… by my third attempt, after his instruction, I was able to stay within the course comfortably… continued doing it until he felt I had had enough, as you can get rider fatigue in anticipation of the test…
the most important thing is to listen to every word he says, he knows what he is talking abt… some of the circles in some of the different offices aren’t proper circles, and you need to be aware of that. Also, because it had rained that morning the course was wet. talk abt nerves? The DMV did not want me to do the test because of liability… Tom calmly calmed me down as I was now waiting over and hour… I got a signed waiver releasing the DMV from any liability… did my test and got my license…
If you have never ridden a Motorcycle before, Tom will teach you how to ride for less than a driver course that can run $ 250+ and take two days… This is the Company to use to get your license. Professional, courteous and on-​time. FIVE STARS. Thanks Tom!
