History

Established in 2014.

Radiance of the Womb was inspired by my children after my own experiences of fertility, pregnancy and labor support with acupuncture. After having an all natural delivery with my second child, I chose to train as a birth doula and wanted to empower other women in having more gentle, safe and happier births. The techniques of HypnoBirthing childbirth classes were also key in allowing me to have my beautiful birthing. I am now a HypnoBirthing instructor to provide these tools to expecting couples.

My joy and passion is to help women feel loved, safe and empowered through each phase of their life. Radiance of the Womb is a business founded on compassion and the highest level of care with acupuncture, reiki and Hypnobirthing services.

Business Owner

I am a Licensed Acupuncturist, Birth doula and HypnoBirthing instructor. My specialities are treating women’s health in areas of hormone balance, stress and anxiety, fertility, pregnancy, labor and postpartum support.

I graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2011 with a Master’s in Traditional Chinese medicine. I have experience working in a multi-​disciplinary chiropractic office as well as two years of experience working in an acupuncture fertility clinic helping patients achieve natural fertility, assisted IUI and IVF transfers with acupuncture.

I also work with top fertility specialists in OC, midwives, doulas, massage therapists and OBGYN’s to create better resources for my patients and their specific needs.

I wish there was an option to give more than 5 stars, because both Tina and Makunda deserve it.
On my first visit, I explained my health concerns to Tina, who helped develop a custom treatment plan for me. Her advice was more than simply acupuncture alone, she also focused on diet and lifestyle changes that I needed to implement. It was truly holistic treatment.
I’ll be honest, at first I thought she was a little nuts with what I call «The Tina Diet.» As skeptical as I was, I stuck to it religiously without any cheating & also did regular visits with Tina and Makunda.
I didn’t feel too much different during my treatment sessions, but I just got blood work results back today and the results speak for themselves. Every single medical issue I have been dealing with has greatly improved in TWO months — so much so that I’m being weaned of prescription meds that I have been on for years. My endocrinologist was shocked and said he had very rarely observed such a huge change in such a short time and asked me what I was doing on the side. He couldn’t believe it when I told him about The Tina Diet, but told me the keep it up!
My treatment with Tina and Makunda is the first thing in four years that’s actually improved my condition. Western medicine just wanted to pump me full of prescription meds. Tina and Makunda actually wanted to heal me!
Not only are these two amazing medical professionals — they’re also both incredibly kind, warm, and loving people. I felt like family the minute I walked in their doors.

I was referred here by my doula after being over two weeks over my due date with my second child and The SAME DAY I was scheduled for a repeat c section I went in because I was desperate to have the natural birth I wanted so badly. So I figured I’d give it a try, at least I could say I had done everything I could to start labor. As soon as I left their office after having no signs of labor in sight, I started feeling contractions and (to make a very long story short) ended up avoiding the c section and had a completely 100% natural vbac. Tina and her husband are amazing at what they do and I really truly believe that if I hadn’t have gone to them I would have wound up with another c section. Thank you guys!!!

I was referred to Tina by a friend who came to her for back pain and had great relief. So when I was diagnosed with gastritis (inflamation of stomach lining) and wanted to go the natural route vs. omeprazole I decided to try accupuncture for myself for first time. Great experience. Needles are painless with no side effects. And best of all my stomach symptoms felt better and dissipated. I’ve had treatments with both Tina and her husband Makunda. Both are very professional and care about the patient’s overall health. I’m glad I went to radiance of the womb!!!

Tina is absolutely amazing, I could not be happier! I have PCOS and a history of recent miscarriage; me and my husband really wanted to try for a baby again and I am so happy that I called Tina for help.
Starting from the first phone call she was very attentive, kind, and great listener. When I came for the first visit I felt calm healing energy coming from Tina, she explained me everything she was doing during our session, and made me feel very comfortable. I bought a package of 10 sessions and started to come to Radiance of the Womb once a week. Sessions were absolutely painless and very relaxing. Lots of times Tina spent extra time with me when she thought I needed it.
Needless to say I was ecstatic when I found out that I got pregnant within the first month of coming for acupuncture!!! I could not believe that we got pregnant so fast taking into account my PCOS. I kept coming to Tina throughout first trimester to support pregnancy (I was very scared to have another miscarriage), and I 100% believe that Tina helped to sustain my pregnancy and make my symptoms (nausea, heartburn, headaches, pains) as mild as possible. I was also very stressed at work, had lot’s of long work hours and business trips during first trimester, and acupuncture helped to reduce my stress and anxiety.
I definitely recommend Tina to anybody who struggles with fertility, and who wants to support healthy pregnancy, she is a great specialist and an amazing person!

Tina was great. She helped me to hone in on the main points of Hypnobirthing and made it easy to practice the essentials at home to prepare me for my birth. The live meditations were great and gave me a sense of calm and peace about my birth every time I left her class.
She was also able to bring my inner fears about birth and how I viewed pregnancy to the surface and helped me look at things in a more grateful light. This was a big healing for me, and Tina was so in tune to this and kind enough to address this with me and not glaze it over.

I just had my first baby with the help of Tina and Makunda at Radiance of the Womb and I could not have wished for a better experience. They deserve 6 stars!
I decided late in my pregnancy that I wanted to do as much as possible to have a natural child birth. At 39 weeks I called Tina to ask about and schedule an induction appointment for the upcoming week. She went over how it would work and let me know that sometimes women need more than one induction appointment to start labor.
The night before my first visit to Radiance of the Womb I started having contractions. In the morning I called to see if I should still come in as I was in early labor. Tina said yes and that the induction acupuncture would help move things along.
In pain from contractions and having never had acupuncture, I arrived at the office at 11am and both Tina and Makunda were there to greet me. The induction was done by Makunda and was wonderfully pain free and actually extremely relaxing even through contractions! He used aroma therapy and Reiki also and made me feel totally at ease.
I left the office at 12:30pm and had my daughter completely naturally at 5:40pm! My very first baby was delivered as healthy as could be just 5 hours after my visit for induction!
My experience with both Tina and Makunda was beyond exceptional. They are absolutely sensitive to the personal experience while being professional at the same time. I will not hesitate to see them postpartum and will absolutely see them during future pregnancies.

Tina is amazing. I’m 38 years old and she helped me get pregnant within the first two months of treatment. That is super fast considering my age and I’m a full time working professional. After the initial evaluation, she carefully assessed my personal background and prepared a customized treatment plan for me to get pregnant ASAP, ranging from acupuncture sessions, dietary recommendations, ovulation testing, and herbal and vitamin supplements. I’ve been to other acupuncturist before, but Tina is my favorite because she truly cares and takes the time to talk and advise during each session. I am beyond thrilled with the way that accupuncture worked for my 3rd pregnancy… I made a last minute appointment (I was not able to see Tina but she referred me to her husband who was amazing)! I came in at 39 weeks on a Wednesday morning to try and get labor started on my own (my doctor had an inducement scheduled for that Saturday which I was trying to avoid)…I ended up going into labor the following morning and left for the hospital around noon on Thursday. I delivered my daughter at 1:30 pm! Out of all 3 of mypregnancies this was by far the easiest delivery and I even left the hospital a day early because I felt so good… I definitely think that accupuncture played a large part in how I felt post delivery and I am so happy that I was able to avoid my planned inducement!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I started seeing Tina after I had a really horrendous month of sinus issues and allergic reactions. My immune system was clearly out of whack and she helped me get it back on track within just a few sessions. The best acupuncturist! I have been living with chronic pain in my legs, sciatic, hip and IT band pain that was preventing me from living the active lifestyle I wanted. I was not sleeping properly and needed to find a solution. Tina has been just that! I can not say enough about her and the treatment I received. I have a fear of needles and I was against acupuncture for that reason. On our first meeting, Tina took her time examining me, asking me questions about my medical history, pain level, lifestyle and talked to me about treatments, nutrition and what I can do to help facilitate healing. I finally feel like I am at the point where I can see the light and my pain is minimal to gone. I am still in the midst of treatment, and will continue to do Maintenece to upkeep everything. I am a true believer that acupuncture works and Tina has a gentle, calming touch that is exactly what I need!

Where do I start? I had been in pain with PCOS for about a year and I wanted to lessen the symptoms. A friend of mine told me to try acupuncture. Based on Unilocal reviews I called about 5 different acupuncture offices. Tina was the only one who took the time to speak with me in detail, knew exactly what I was feeling and understood my goals. I regret it took me a long time after our conversation to go in. Once my scheduled cleared, I went in and IMMEDIATELY felt like family. I didn’t feel like a patient. She took care of every aspect. Addressed all concerns! There are no words to put how comfortable I felt. Like I had been going in to see her for years. After one treatment I felt AMAZING!!! My body yearned for another treatment. Tina helped me every step of the way to the point where I got pregnant within 2 months of seeing her for PCOS. I also had the opportunity to be treated by her husband. At first I was nervous but this husband & wife team is INCREDIBLE!!! He knew everything about my case. Extremely gentle and talks to you about the entire treatment. Bottom line, I would travel anywhere to be treated by these two. The compassion, knowledge, skill set & just over earnest desire to help others is far beyond what anyone can imagine. I cannot recommend them highly enough and refer my friends and family every chance I get. I love them and so blessed to have them in my life!

Tina is amazing. We were trying to get pregnant through IUI for several months. The first treatment t with Tina was May 18th we were ovulating the next day and conceived May 19th. We strongly feel Tina had alot to do with our successful pregnancy. But it did not stop there. We have continued our sessions
For support during our first trimester. She has been a great emotional support as well, always checking in and making sure we are doing well in between sessions. She is compassionate, caring and very supportive. We highly recommend Tina not only for fertility but also for stress and anxiety. We are a female couple and Tina made us feel beyond comfortable. Tina is a great acupuncturist. She made me feel right at home from the minute I started going to her. My husband and I had been trying for 2 ½ years when we decided it was time to try acupuncture. I was skeptical but hopeful. Tina always was confident that it would happen but of course I never wanted to get my hopes up. I thought it wasn’t in the cards for my husband and I. Well after 3 months of acupuncture I got pregnant, something I was worried would never happen.
