Tommy’s has always been one of those guilty late night greasy pressures similar to White Castle and Imo’s Pizza in the mid-west. A must do after a ball game a Dodger Stadium or Angels Stadium. However the current climate of $ 15.00 minimum wages had definitely put a hurt on the menu prices. Once a good deal for a double cheese burger with chili and stuff plus fresh hot fries a drink and an unlimited pile of piquant yellow salty Cascabella peppers has now gone past the point of real value at almost $ 9.00 per order. Bummer! Thanks to the liberal doofusness and lunacy I expect that I will be passing up one more guilty pleasure not due cholesterol and diet concerns but due to arcane Progressive non-sense dead set to destroy something once enjoyable.

Friendly staff, quick service, clean restaurant & restrooms, and good food. Tommy’s has their own unique style of chili and burgers. Tommy’s is my late night/sober up joint. The chili sticks to your stomach blocking further absorption and the carbs sponge up the alcohol. That’s how the science of sobering up works, right? The burger patties were flattened allowing for thin crispy edges while juicy in the inside. Fresh vegetables of lettuce, onions and sweet tomato slices. A generous portion of chili. All this in between soft cheeseburger buns. I got the caliente cheeseburger which is their chili cheeseburger but with a spicy jack cheese and sliced hot peppers added to the burger. My mouth burned, my tastebuds rejoiced, and my heart nearly stopped. All signs of a successful trip to Tommy’s.

Not really enjoyable to have to say this, but really? This place is not good. C’mon man… the chili is lackluster as a mofo. The meat patty was thin and tough as a cardboard pizza box. May it please the court, here is what I ordered: ¼ pound chili cheeseburger Chili cheese hot dog Chili cheese fries So obviously was not impressed. I would still rather have a chili cheese dog from Der Wienerschnitzel anytime. The chili cheese fries had the least amount of cheese you can humanly put on cheese fries and still legally call them chili cheese fries. Anyways, food was cheap — glad I finally crossed this place of my list… wouldn’t come back personally.

This place can’t be good for me. In fact, I know it’s not. But once every couple of years, I’ll find myself in the line for the drive thru anticipating a chili cheese burger(675 cals), chili cheese fries(920 cals), and a big cherry coke(400 cals) to wash it down. Literally 1,995 calories in a meal, but worth every bite because it’s delicious. The hot peppers are great too, but be careful, you might find an extra hot one in the bag.

I’ve died and gone to heaven. If I could only replicate this chili recipe, I’d be having it every day. High quality meat, and the accompanying burger is also high quality. Fries are good too. Wish I had moved to Southern California sooner just for this! :)

Been going here since I was a young child. I remember when the chili cheese fries were $ 1.80. It was a great way to eat cheap in high school. The changes over the years have been small but consistent. patties have gotten smaller, portions of chili have gotten smaller. But, overall it’s still a great place to go. I love taking out of town people to this place. The orange stains to the corners of your mouth still happen.

The location can be a little bit difficult to see, but it is located between the Starbucks on the other side and the Boomers next to it. I usually go at night and there aren’t too many cars when there. I’m rating this more by fast food standards, but in terms of fast food I really like the burgers. I don’t like them because I think the burgers are all that special, but I enjoy the extra taste of chili cheese on my burgers and fries, and I don’t know of many other places that offer it, especially as a fast food option. Price was about $ 7 for a hamburger meal if I recall correctly, and the drink that comes with the combo is huge(for me anyways). You can also request those small pickled peppers and they go great with the fries and burger. I usually dip some of my fries with some of the chili cheese that gets stuck on the burger wrapper too.

I think they put Crack in their chilli. So good. I like that their burgers are not too big, so you don’t get overstuffed. Fries were hot and crispy. Convenient location. We stopped on the way to three skating rink. Food came out fast. Got crowded real quick though. We got there at 12 on a Friday afternoon. By 12:30, the line was a snake. Limited seating. But no complaints here.

Always a great place to eat. It can get crowded from people leaving the mini golf place next door. So what can I recommend… Anything on the menu, but have it with the CHILI!

Breakfast! I love the breakfast burrito, flour tortilla filled with egg, hash browns, sausage patty, and chili. Do not plan on eating this while driving — it can be a bit messy or even require a fork towards the end. A delicious way to start your day! Served from 8 am to 11 am at this location.

How do they keep this place so clean with all that chili flying around? After one look at my chili sandwich(I guess they call it a «cheeseburger» here,) I was honestly surprised that the entire building hasn’t become a ode to Jackson Pollock, just completely covered in criss-crossing brown splats of chili ribbons. While staring down what appeared to be Jabba the Hutt wedged in a bun, I realized that one false move, just one sneeze in the wrong direction and the chili splattered restaurant scenario could become real. After one bite, I found of how they keep this place so clean. The chili is thickened and stays stuck to the burger. It’s not runny, but rolls off with a slow ooze. The gummy texture was a little off putting to me. If you like brown, you could probably stucco your house with it. They served up a nice greasy burger to sink my teeth into and it wasn’t horrible. It’s cheap, fast food so I can’t complain too much. My main problem was that the chili was so flavorless. I tried tasting the chili alone and the flavors were so muted. That was a disappointment coming from a famous chili joint. I won’t be hurrying back.

Chili cheeseburger with everything on it,(extra crispy) fries, a cherry coke and a small side of mayo… Order that and you’re set! I always mix my own ketchup mayo to dip my fries in and use it as a sauce for my burger. EVERYONE I’ve introduced those to has loooooved it! I cannot have a Tommy’s burger without my sauce! I’ve gone to this Tommy’s ever since I was a little kid with my uncle & aunts, then I brought my friends and lil sister here. This place is going to be with me till the day I die! Their chili never changes it’s ALWAYSGOOD! Try this place out! Do not expect to come here and eat all clean and cute. It’s gets messy but it’s SOOGOOD! And yes, I know it’s unhealthy but that is why this place is one of my guilty pleasures! And I don’t care! Ahhh! :)

I know Tommy’s have been around for a long time and they are a chain establishment but in my years being here in California I’ve finally tried their stuff! ***Chili Cheese Fries*** The chili wasn’t outlandish but it tasted simple and tasty so it was good(I’m glad I didn’t have beans in them) The french fries were crispy with moderate saltiness, then you have your melted american cheese to top it off. All I can say is that the chili cheese fries are traditional style and overall it tasted what a chili cheese fries should be! nothing weird about it but I liked it. ***Caliente Burger*** This burger is their specialty, with chili, grilled onions, casabella peppers and chipotle cheddar. Those who fear the heat won’t feel much spicyness biting into this burger. The casabella peppers thrown in doesn’t do anything to Caliente but to leave a pickled, puckered taste in your mouth. Their own chili in the burger made it again worth while. Everything blended well in this burger but hey not too bad. ***Service*** I wish they didn’t have me wait almost 2 minutes to take my order, they seemed focused taking orders for drive-thru but I got my pick-up order in no time while not losing break time from work. This place lives up to its name, their chili is just plain and simple with no quirks and I will be back to tryout more stuff.

What can I say about Tommy’s other than this place has been a favorite of mine since the first time I tried it. Tommy’s is an institution known for their world class chili burgers and fries. The burgers are always made fresh and the chili is some of the best I have ever had(much better than Pinks in my opinion) and the chili cheese fries are also amazingly good. The chili is cooked to perfection and not as greasy as some of the competition I have tried and the flavor is great. They also are now offering a more spicy iteration of their classic chili burgers which is topped with chili peppers and spicy cheese which I still need to try. If you are a lover of chili as I am, definitely give Tommy’s a try, they truly have served up deliciousness since 1946. I know I for one will eat here many times to come.
