Good food; great value. They do not skimp on quality and quantity. Ordered the seafood combination, which was a combination of fried mahi mahi, shrimp, barbeque chicken, white rice, macaroni salad, and cabbage pieces. Hubby had the hawaiian bbq mix combo, which came with kalbi short rib, hawaiian bbq beef, bbq chicken, white rice, macaroni salad, and cabbage. We ordered these to go. The person that packed our food included some napkins, plastic utensils, and about 5 small containers of different sauces: teriyaki, hot sauce, tartar sauce, and tonkatsu sauce. I thought it was nice that he included all of these without being asked or reminded. As we took the containers out of the bag, we were struck by how heavy they were. If I hadn’t been so hungry, I would have weighed them. My mahi mahi was really good: crispy on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside, and very well seasoned. I didn’t need to use the provided tartar sauce. Shrimp was okay. The chicken was great — tender, moist, and well seasoned. I finished my fish and shrimp, ate a little piece of chicken, not because I didn’t like it, but because I was very full. I was left with enough leftovers for another meal, and am certainly looking forward to my dinner of leftovers. I can’t comment on the taste of the hawaiian bbq mix, since hubby didn’t share. He said he liked it all, though, which was evidenced by his empty container.

I always love eating here. The staff is very friendly and I feel like I’m at home. The older lady that helped me at the register made it seem like I was talking to my grandmother and I love that. I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ and it was delicious

Beyond satisfied with the food and service. Makes you feel like anywhere else to eat would be a rip off. I recommend the beef mix. Comes with a a lot of everything. I’m not a big guy, but I am a big eatter and very rarely do I get full off one meal. Thank you for your business.

Chicken bowl was a lot of fatty chicken, but covered in sauce it tasted good. I guess price is equal to quality so you get what you pay for. Nice interior area to sit, clean.

The food, like most in this chain, is very good. I’d recommend it highly. But the service is horrible and I will never eat at this location again. I have been there twice before and was disappointed with the service but today was the last straw. I arrived 15 minutes before they closed and was told as I walked in that the kitchen was closed. When I confirmed what time they closed the chef yelled from the back, «we are out of chicken. If you want chicken, it’s not happening.» I offered to get something besides chicken and the chef muttered to the person taking the order, «whatever. There is nothing we can do.» Not exactly the person I wanted preparing my food at that point. Horrible and completely unprofessional. They will not be getting my business again.

Well it wasn’t amazing. I’ve been to better hawaiian bbq places and I’ve probably been to only one that was worse. I came here thinking it was related to the Maui Hawaiian BBQ on Beach blvd in Westminster — — same name, close enough — must be related. Nope. I probably should’ve just made the drive out there when I was craving hawaiian bbq but since I frequent the Starbucks on Newhope now, I went here instead. I ordered a #1 Hawaiian BBQ Chicken plate to go. The food took awhile to come out — almost 15 minutes. This was a Monday evening, a little after 8pm, only one other person waiting for their food and me. The portions were reasonable for the price paid(a little over $ 8). The chicken was decently marinated but it seemed to be somewhat poor quality — stringy almost. I mean, compared to the chicken from the other Maui Hawaiian BBQ, the chicken here was definitely a poorer grade. It was noticeable. The teriyaki dipping sauce was also different as well — somewhat worse, felt very soy-sauce based. I had asked for two containers, but barely finished the first one it was pretty bad. The mac salad was disgusting — it barely had any flavor and the pasta seemed soggy. There were also a noticeable amount of carrots in each bite. There is plenty of seating, the restaurant was well-lit, clean and they do take credit card which is great. Service was great, but the food really isn’t anything I’d go out of the way for. I think next time I crave hawaiian bbq, I’ll either make the drive to the Maui on Beach Blvd, or the hawaiian bbq place at the District in Tustin.

I’ve been to this location twice. The first time i came I was hoping to get a salmon plate but they didn’t have that on the menu. The nice lady behind the counter suggested the Mahi Mahi plate saying it was good. So i gave it a try and I was not disappointed. For just ten dollars I got half Mahi Mahi, which came with two decent size pieces, and half shrimp, which came with 4 friend shrimp However, considering that it was a fast food place I was under the impression that it would be out faster than it actually was. That didn’t really bother me though because I just assumed it was because it was done when I ordered it not done earlier in the day. The second time i came here i ordered the same thing and had the same experience. I work right by here so im for sure going to be stopping by every now and then.

Good spot for tasty hawaiian bbq. It gets super busy at lunch time due to it’s location in a busy complex with Starbucks, Subway, O Udon, Ross, Costco and many other eateries. Make sure to call in your order if you are on a time crunch. My go to’s: –Mini Bbq chicken: very good! Chicken is well-marinated, flavorful, and tender. Get extra teriyaki sauce to spike up the taste level. Comes with a scoop of rice and mac salad. –Spam musubi: always my fave. Never fails even though it’s wanna-be sushi made with spam. Simple and yummy!

This place sucks, if you want to go eat at a place where they take for ever to give you your food and they give you a mediocre amount then this is the place for you. With all hawaiian bbq places you know your going to get lots of food to share with others but we ended up still hungry because it was such a small amount. The trash cabs were overflowing as well not very clean. Never going there again! Sticking to the one at the district.

Great food. The katsu chicken is always crispy. now if we could get the lady behind the counter to smile a little more, then bumps up to 4.5 stars.

Disappointing food. I was a little stressed today and broke my low carb diet. This was a waste of carbs. Service was very nice, but flavor was off point. Macaroni salad taste like mayo on macaroni. Katsu curry had WAY too much breading. Curry was ok. Not good or bad. As much as I realize Ono isn’t amazing, I’ve have rather gone there for my «cheat» day.

I found out about Maui Hawaiian BBQ through my Co-Workers’ recommendation. Ever since I first tried their Mahi-Mahi Grilled Fish, I was hooked! Thankfully this restaurant is conveniently located very close to where I work. Their staff are very friendly and remember me and my Co-Worker by name! I like phoning in the order in advance and then picking it up, or as I did today, calling my order in before my visit so that it is ready by the time I arrive to the restaurant. Mahi-Mahi takes time to cook, so it is a good idea to call it in advance. The dining area is very comfortable and spacious. I recommend this restaurant for for casual relaxed dining. I hope to bring my family here to enjoy a nice casual Hawaiian lunch with me someday.

Whoa, so impressed with a recent lunch here! Walked up the counter and ordered a mini-bowl with the friendly cashier. You can get a generous bowl of rice and protein for only $ 5.99. I took a seat in the very busy, but clean dining room. After a few moments, the cashier personally walked by meal to my table. Nice! My order of chicken katsu was fresh, hot, crispy, and huge! I couldn’t even finish the whole thing. While I was enjoying, the cashier was busy sweeping and clearing tables. I really appreciated that the staff is so hard working. I’ll be back!

This is one of my favorite spots for some Hawaiian BBQ. I usually always order the chicken katsu which comes with a side of rice and macaroni salad which are pretty bomb. The portion size of this entrée could definitely satisfy one very hungry person or two people who are trying to munch a little. A tip if you are feeling more rice over the macaroni salad or vice versa, you can always request to have two orders of the same side. Definitely my goto place since it is the best Hawaiian BBQ nearby.

it’s been a while since I’ve been to this location, but the chicken katsu didn’t disappoint! I ordered a katsu bowl which was plenty for one. When I order the katsu plate I usually split with my husband. There’s a busy lunch rush, but service was still quick and the food quality was great :)

They are nothing like L&L Hawaiian. This place is pretty spacious and the food comes out pretty fast, but the food is just okay – nothing special about it. I came here because I wanted some musubi the other day and this was the closest thing to me. I ordered the spam and the chicken katsu, which they packed in WAYTOOMUCH rice. Before I could take a bite half of my rice had fallen off. I don’t know if it was an off day for the cook because my chicken katsu were fried to the point where all i could taste was the breadcrumbs and barely any chicken. The spam were very thinly slice as well, with what I paid for I could have just go buy the ingredients and make it myself. Would I come back here? Probably not.

I’ve come here for the past few years now and I have to say, the cashier before was never super friendly. It was always okay but they got a new guy(or I haven’t seen him before) who is super friendly! Very welcoming and genuine. The food is good. They have an Atkins plate which is great for a keto diet(beware: the meats are marinated). Macaroni is good. The food is 4 stars but the service made it 5!

I wanted some musubi so I stopped by during my lunch break and saw that they offered different variations of it. I wanted to try the spam and katsu musubi so I ordered a two piece of each. It was dinner time so they were busy and the cook was flustered, but it didn’t justify his attitude in yelling at the cashier for the orders piling up. I understood it would take some time to get the orders out, as they were accommodating both to go orders and orders placed by customers dining in. After a long wait, I received my order and I received my spam musubi, but my katsu musubi was actually a chicken teriyaki. The chicken on both pieces looked different, which was weird too. They were too busy to replace my order and I honestly didn’t have time to bring it back to their attention. The spam musubi was good, they put a lot of rice so it’s a carb overload.

Located in the same corner as Starbucks and Subway, you find a decent hawaiian bbq joint with an awesome staff. Been coming here for as long as I can remember growing up in the area and nothing really has changed. You can order from a range of kalbi short ribs to katsu chicken or a combination of orders. There are also 2 different sizes to order, ‘full’(quite fulfilling if you you’re hungry) and ‘bowl’(enough for one if you’re not that hungry). I normally just go for the full katsu chicken order which I think is better than the other choices. Overall, I’d say drop in if you looking for a quick fix and you’re tired of the typical to-go/fast food establishments. Also, they have a decent sized dining area if you want to sit there and eat as well!
