Hair Today

I was having a terrible day, first I couldn’t find my credit card, then my lunch was terrible and finally I spent hours trying to find a good and cheap hair salon! I all the way from Euclid to Belgrade, then Belgrade to Beach and couldn’t find anything! But when I was on my way home, in my nerves and really upset I turned around and see a sign «Hair Today».
Bingo.
I approach the entrance as happy as I could be, but then I see the sign that say, «Men’s haircut: $ 7.00»
Mind. Blown
I could not believe it. I was so happy!
Then when I enter the hair salon I see that they are all Vietnamese, but they speak English perfectly, and the hair salon it’s perfect, not that clean but it’s fine.
I meet Lynn, and all the others, I told Lynn that I wanted highlights. It took me about 30 – 40 minutes but that is a fair time. Anyway, when I am finished and super-​duper satisfied and loving my highlights, This day just kept getting better and better! She told me because of my first time here since it was 30 $ I think, she gave me a discount!!! OMG, she was so nice and made my day! I love hair today, it has everything you could possibly want on a hair salon. Cheap. Good location. Nice people. And most of all, satisfactory work!
Would obviously recommend, a 100% Hair Today!

I’ve been getting my hair done at Hair Today since forever. Every time there is a nice hairstyle I like I always show Lynn the photos and she uses her skill to make it happen! Also, the price is also much more reasonable than elsewhere!

If you don’t want your hair turn out to be «a bad hair day», DO NOT GO HERE for hair service. The owner claimed 10 yrs of experience have never heard any customer complaint like i did. She is too proud of her talent and will never admit that she made a mistake when she screw up my hair. I posted a pic (2^nd pic), take a look at it then rethink whether you want to go here for a cheap hair cut, or rather pay a little more for a nice hair cut. I will never come back here or recommend anyone to this place. It maybe slow and cheap, but definitely not worth the money or time.

Been coming here for almost 8 years. Always pleasant and accommodating. Great cut and shampoo for $ 7. Would recommend to anyone. The nice part is that their service is always done with a smile. There is usually a wait but rarely a long wait.

Came in before closing for a haircut. The barber was able to squeeze me in. She was quick and did what I needed (3 on the sides and back, trim the top). She seemed friendly. I have no complaints.

If you want a good cut, great color and highlights and soft silky hair all for $ 80.00 then go to Lynn at Hair Today. You can pay lots more but why would you want too?

Men’s hair is only $ 7 here.
The men in my household drive all the way from Monterey Park to get their hair cut here. Lynn is just so friendly and nice. Even though none of us speak Vietnamese, she always gives great care to make sure your hair turns out nice. Apparently the boys also like the way she massages their heads during the wash.
I’m a girl, and II had my hair cut here as well, and I have no complaints. She took several takes to make sure she didn’t miss anything.

This is not a swanky place. This is not even a clean place. However, this is a cheap, chilaxed type place and I LOVE IT. Think of the salon in Steel Magnolias (Vietnamese version) If you can get past the hair all over the floor and the dated décor and you wait for Lynn, you WILL get a good cut, color or highlights. I have been going to Hair Today for a few years now and have learned to just wait for Lynn because she’s funny, does great hair, and styles my hair great! She charges $ 15 for ladies cut, I think $ 30 for color and $ 40 for highlights. Men’s and kids cuts are only $ 7! Our family of 4 have gotten cuts for $ 40! Let me give you an example of Lynn’s awesomeness; she highlighted my hair and styled it in an awesome up-​do all for $ 40 on a Saturday morning! Hair Today ROCKS!!! Give Lynn a chance.

This place is always busy. I’ve been coming here for over a year now. Lyn is really patient, she cares a lot about how your hair color turns out. I spend about 4 hours here on each visit and although I don’t speak Vietnamese here’s what I’ve observed.
All the women who work here are really nice. They got everybody coming here from babies who get their first hair cut to men and boys for hair cuts and color. They do eyebrows, manicures, and pedicures.
Prices are reasonable.

It was a nice day. I had a good lunch, learned how to marinate a turkey, and bought a pumpkin pie. I decided to drop by to get a haircut after I got my pie because it was on the way home. I was in a good mood. Really I was. I asked for a clip 6 all around and a clip 5 on the side because I did not want my hair to be too short and you know… it’s winter and my head will freeze. Of course the barber who cut my hair was nice because she kept talking to me about Thanksgiving but I think it was a distraction because she knew she messed up my hair. I told her how I want my sideburns to be cut because no one really likes it really short and BAM! What the heck happened? She must have a lot of hair in her ear because she didn’t listen to me. I didn’t want to say anything because what can I really do about it? Glue my hair back on? So I figured okay since one of my sideburns is really short, she would do the same thing to the other one but nope… the other sideburn was left long. AND not to mention she was cleaning the sides and messed up so.
Gosh what a crappy place. I have been here before and decided to come back because I was thinking, im going to ask for a different barber because the last one messed up when I asked for a CLIP 2 all around. A freaking CLIP 2! are you serious? Do you know how easy that is?! I am just too lazy to cut my own hair but man, WHAT THE HECK! How do you mess that up.
I give this place a one star just for being OPENED.
