Congregation B’nai Tzedek-Reform

B’nai Tzedek is a warm and welcoming congregation. Being that it is
Reform synagogue, it also celebrates tradition.
For someone not too familiar or perhaps not too religious, Rabbi Eisntein will most definitely make you feel at home and will answer any question or doubt.
I enjoy taking my toddler to their 30 minute (Yes, only 30 minute) TOT SABBATH! every 3^rd friday of the month at 6p.m.

An absolutely lovely congregation… will be returning to try it again.
In my current Shul Search I decided to give B’nai Tzedek in Fountain Valley a try. I had attended a class years ago taught by Rabbi Einstein and found him to be a very knowledgable and personable teacher. Having now seen his congregation I can see that he is the same way as a rabbi. Plus his co-​rabbi is also his daughter and I just had to come see the only father-​daughter rabbi team I’d ever heard of.
B’nai Tzedek gives every impression of being a close-​knit, familial congregation full of people who have known and cared for each other for years or decades. They (from their website and a couple of conversations I had with folks who’ve attended) seem to put a large emphasis on service to the community and the congregation — which of course fits with the congregation’s name. It seems like the sort of place where everyone is always pitching in together to make the event/​service/​oneg happen. I like that. I also like the welcome that I received as a newcomer. As I walked in I was greeted with a «Good Shabbos», not by a lay leader but by Rabbi Einstein himself. In addition, I was greeted and welcomed by several others throughout the evening who obviously could spot a newcomer easily — which points to a congregation who all know each other very well. Another plus: the oneg had real food, not just cookies and some hummus. Granted, as a vegan a lot of it was stuff I won’t go for, but I like seeing an oneg that consists of more than just baked goods: we’re Jews — bring on the food once in a while. :)
The service itself was nicely done. This was during the week of Veterans Day and they had veterans from the congregation come up and speak a little bit about their service. Very nice.
