Fountain Acres Foods

While traveling back to Colorado, I was diligently trying to find some large amounts of maple syrup. We were told to go back to Fountain Acres Amish store, what a wonderful trip. Highly recommended to everyone, prices address great and so many things! Bring cash or check book!

Fountain Acre Foods has become a pilgrimage of sorts for us. Anytime we’re near we have to visit, and if I lived nearby I’d be there nearly every day. Known to locals as the «Amish Wal-​Mart,» they have everything from bulk goods to a fresh lunch. Imagine Whole Foods without the pretentiousness.
The bakery will make you gain a few pounds just from sniffing the homemade breads, cakes and pies. The deli counter has delicious sandwiches, while meat and cheese selection is top notch. I’d love to take home one of each of the fresh peanut butters, they’re simply incredible.
There’s spices, soup fixin’s, candies, fresh produce, soaps, and so much more, including the most beautiful sounding wind chimes you’ll find anywhere.
Manned by a great staff who always greet you with a smile and a kind word, if you don’t leave here happy I suggest you seek counseling immediately.

Fountain Acres is awesome! I love their selection and price. They also have wonderful gut fresh made sandwiches. Sure fills you up! I always look for a reason to stop.

This Amish Market has all kinds of foodstuffs that you could ever imagine. The only one missing for us was chocolate cake mix; they don’t seem to have many varieties of cake mix. My favorite part is the huge selection of dozens of candies and snacks, some of them brought back memories of candies I haven’t eaten since I was a child. In the back there is a large bakery with doughnuts and a few other kinds of baked goods. We took home some doughnut holes that were yummy! We also used the market as a lunch stop, hitting up their deli for sandwiches and chips. In the front yard are porch swings, small sheds and yard decorations, as well.

Fountain Acres is where you go for … Say… Cheese. Pastries. Meat. Spices. Baking ingredients. Lollipops. Pulled pork. Chocolate chip cheesecake dip. Produce. They also have a small selection of household goods and gluten free items, if that’s your bag.
They also sell potted flowers, pumpkins, rocking chairs and playground equipment. And I hear their sandwiches (for lunch) are pretty amazing. Yheyve really got quite the variety.
And the best part is that their hone made goods, are truly home made; Amish made! Good stuff.
Don’t forget your cash or checkbook because there is no credit or debit card taking here; dont forget– they’re Amish! So come prepared. You will walk out with more than you originally intended to buy.

Great place and great Amish people. Good to have a place like this in my home town. Good place to by balk food. A lot of good Amish made lawn furniture.

I loved the samples of everything from almond butter, cheeses, pork rinds, and salads.

About an hour drive from Muncie, it’s a great little side trip. So fun! So many products to try and so many to buy. They have stuff that I’ve only seen on Amazon, but their price is much more affordable. Be sure to bring cash.

I’d give this place fifteen stars if I could! I could visit here everyday, and still spend hour after mesmerized hour gazing at the unique and sometimes strange dry goods options. The real treat here is the deli though. Try all the cheese! I fell in love with their German brick cheese and green onion cheese. Their sandwiches are also delicious, HUGE and a great value.

I’m really shocked at how the Amish have changed.
I lived in Philadelphia for 8 years and made my way into Lancaster and Lebanon Counties plenty of times. This isn’t like any Amish store I’ve ever seen. Freezers? Who among the Amish have freezers? Someone is bending the rules – or they’re actually Mennonite.
Besides the egg noodles and dumplings, much of the pasta appears to be machine made. Many things don’t seem to be Amish at all but would make you believe by the packaging that they’re Amish. Still, it’s nice to see things like granola, oatmeal, and müsli/​muesli.
I was also glad to see some Lebanon/​Lancaster-​style meats. I only recognized one brand, which won’t matter to anyone else but I guess a lot of the products came from Ohio.
That was certainly an eye-​opener. I can’t imagine returning but it was interesting. The next time I’m in Lancaster County, PA, I’ll have to find an Amish store and ask them what they think.

Such a nice Amish market! They have really beautiful flowers outside for sale & then all kinds of interesting grocery items. They have tons of candy and baked goods, fresh fruit and vegetables among many other things. Definitely bring cash as they don’t take credit cards!

Far more than a bakery, they have all sorts of candies, and basic ingredients, spices, grains, flours, etc. Then there is the cheese sampling case. Then there is the deli meats and cheeses. Finally as you check out they have fresh fruits and vegetables. They are building a large addition. If you go, try to leave time to tour the Lefi Coffin house which was part of the Underground Railroad system from back in the days of slavery

So glad to see there are other reviews of Fountain Acres Foods! I love to stop at this Amish store/​bakery/​deli on my way back to my hometown.
First things first — the cheese. More specifically, the samples. and samples. and samples. Many of them fall into the creamy/​mild genre like farmer’s cheese and spreads. I may or may not have helped myself to 10 to 12 samples… My final purchase (which required gobs of samples to decide) ended up being the goat cheese — I know this isn’t a crowd favorite, but I beg of you that at least give this one a try. It is a harder, more mild version than the one you typically find in log form or on salads. The hooked me on the green tomato spread with flecks of pimentos — great with wheat thins.
All of your favorite Amish treats can be found at Fountain Acres at very affordable price points. Think pumpkin and chocolate whoopie pies, homemade cinnamon rolls and breads. I opted for one of the 50 cent, day old pumpkin whoopie pies. Pumpkin-​flavored anything is always in season for this gal.
This is the place to go for bulk baking and general items: dried fruit and veggies, gelatins (seems to be a super-​hot item), noodles, spices and teas, as well as candy and nuts. I opted for a bag of the pesto and lemon pepper noodles.
The local fresh fruit and veggie selection is great; however, I would keep a close eye on the prices — I purchased a bag of green beans one day and ended up forking over 15 bucks for one meal’s green beans (granted the beans were the meal — green beans n’ bacon!).
In the yard and parking lot surrounding the building you will find numerous potted plants and patio furniture.

Being able to tag along on my husbands work trips and being able to fit some vacation time in has enable us to see and try many things.
We had the privilege to drive through some country on the way to our sight seeing destination, and we found this place. Wow, they had some sausages, cheese’s, bakery, candies, so many delicious things to eat.
The store is a very good size with yard décor out front for purchase. We would love to come back here for more goodies.
The customer service is good, very quiet and polite.
You will have to stop by and be sure you don’t hit the horse buggies riding along the side of the road.

Just like the other review said, I just call this «The Amish Store». I’ve been here three times and both times I got the Sweet Cajun Trail Mix. my favorite! We also get some sort of candy while we are here as we drive back to the airport from Lynn. Next time we come to town, I want to try their Apple Pie. those things are heavy! We got some salsa here too that was pretty good, and they have so many different flavors. I’d buy more if I stayed in the area longer, but our trips don’t last longer than a week.
My husband and I noticed that they have their own mixes for dip, which we thought was pretty neat. They have so much variety, I swear I could spend $ 50 here and come out with so much stuff! I’d also love to try their sandwiches next time.
They do not accept credit cards so you must pay by check or cash. They also aren’t open on Sundays. The employees are very friendly, and in my opinion, this is a GREAT place to shop!

This place is a treasure trove just outside of Richmond. We call it «The Amish Store», and it is, of course, Amish owned and run. They have baked goods made fresh on site, you could even watch the ladies hard at work kneading dough, etc… They have a dizzying array of every spice you could imagine in many different sizes from container-​size to bulk. Also great for staples such as brown sugar, flour, etc… There are also pre-​made soup mixes, muffin mixes and cookie mixes available in various sizes.
There is a full-​service deli with sliced meats in addition to sandwiches made-​to-​order. I am told the meats and sandwiches are some of the best around (I haven’t ordered yet!) Fountain Acres also has a huge selection of cheeses, home made mustards and peanut butters and other dry bulk such as popcorn kernels (so many kinds of kernels: red, blue, purple), oatmeal, rice, gummy bears, chocolates, dried fruits of all kind, dried snack veggies, pretzels, chips, you name it, they probably have it!
Prices are great. I once purchased a two pound bag of bulgur wheat grain from an independent health food store down in Richmond for six dollars. I was able to buy the same bulgur wheat grain here for under one dollar for one pound! (It was only 64 cents a pound to be exact!)
Our favorite freshly baked item here is the white bread loaf. That loaf barely survives 24 hours in this household!
Outside are in-​season plants as well as outdoor patio furniture of all kinds (which I assume is also Amish-​made).
Service is great, too, the Amish are friendly as can be. Watch out, though since no credit or debit cards accepted here, they only take cash, so be sure to bring the green!
Overall a fantastic store, highly recommend stopping in, I bet you’ll find something you’ll like!
