We recently had a 50^th/​60^th party for me and my husband in my backyard. My husband wisely and generously told me to get a helper as we were having about 100 people. Jenny, the friendly and caring owner, recommended 2 helpers. She wasn’t being pushy, she was just telling me what in her experience works best. We decided to splurge on 2, and it was the right thing to do. (I write this piece of information not as a negative, but saying that her recommendations are good ones b/​c she knows, and if she recommends more and you can afford it, go for it.)
From the second that Peter and Renee arrived, I knew I was in good hands. I spoke with them for only about ten minutes (it was at that crunch time when I was trying to get dressed and put on makeup, and I was more than a little discombobulated), but they somehow understood me, and knew exactly what to do. Throughout the five hours they were there, they asked me maybe 3 questions. Wow! I actually didn’t have to think at all about what was going on behind the scenes, and could mingle with my guests. At the end of the evening, all the recyclables and garbage were out in the bins, and all of the bowls, pitchers and serving utensils we used were cleaned on the counter.

I had used Hostess Helpers a dozen years ago for a 40^th birthday party at my home and they were beyond incredible so I crossed my fingers, googled them and was thrilled to find that they were still in business all of these years later. Because, boy did I need them!
My husband and I decided to throw a «little» dinner party as it was time to open up some of the Italian red wines from our collection. Never needing much of an excuse for a gathering of friends, we decided to have 12 – 14 folks over for a nice Friday night Fall Harvest/​Italian dinner. Thinking we’d get a 30−50% response rate, we sent invites to about 32 people. When 100% of our invited guests responded with a resounding «yes,» I knew that I had a choice between getting some additional help and being able to enjoy my own party or trying to pull it all off on my own and being an uptight, sleep-​deprived, raging maniac who would spend 95% of the party cleaning and organizing so that her guests would have a great time and needing two days of sleep to recover. I decided on the former — and the moment Sheila walked through the door I knew that I had made the right decision.
She asked all of the right questions to ensure that she could provide the highest standard of service, then got to work taking over set up so that I could actually jump in the shower before guests arrived. She helped with the final food prep, took over organizing the buffet table, was greeter, coat and purse-​checker extraordinaire, passed hors d’ouvres, set up coffee and dessert service and kept my kitchen and home nearly spotless with 32 guests traipsing about for four hours. Sheila was nothing short of extraordinary.
If I could rate more than 5 stars I definitely would. Can’t recommend this service enough!

I have used Hostess Helpers for small and large events for almost 10 years. Jenny is always on the ball when I call, and the Helpers are always on-​time, friendly, and more than competent at any job. I recommend them for anything from a small dinner party to a 200 person event.

Hostess Helpers responded within two hours to my email request for a quote, sent me a detailed contract and then sent me a confirmation email within a week detailing who would be working my wife’s surprise 30^th birthday party.
All I can say is WOW! Peter, our bartender, and Kathryn and Julie, our servers, took charge of the everything when they arrived. With minimal instruction, they made sure everything ran like clockwork. They paid attention to the guests, maintained a spotless kitchen and bar area, and chased me and my co-​hosts out of the kitchen telling us to «enjoy our party!»
Afterwards, there was literally nothing left to do. Leftovers were packaged, everything had been washed and dried, the chairs folded, the linens cleared and all the rentals neatly stacked. I couldn’t have done it without them. Ask for this team by name and your next event will be a success!

I recently threw a 50^th birthday bash at my home and splurged on two helpers from Hostess Helpers. Cynthia and Inge were FABULOUS. I really was thrilled — they are professional, friendly and thorough. I was instantly comfortable with them and my guests were also unanimously impressed. They did everything from answer the door, take coats, usher people in/​out, serve food, clean, and even take pictures for me! I HIGHLY recommend this service, and I also encourage you to specifically request these women.
