Darren Lee, Michael Gee, OD

Dr. Lee looked at my eyes yesterday and did a great job. He takes the time to explain how my eyes are changing in a way that I can understand. He obviously cares about me as a patient and takes the time to fully answer my questions. He helped me to understand how my eyes are changing and what to expect in the future. It’s hard to find doctors that take the time to care nowadays. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dr. Lee and Dr. Gee (my wife uses Dr. Gee) to anyone!

I am not even a patient Dr Gee but I needed recommendations for an ophthalmologist. He and the reception were SO helpful in pointing me to the right person. That is what I call service. I wish he was an ophthalmologist, as I wanted to go to him. I will be going there for my routine visits.

I live in Nevada and Dr. Darren Lee is my optometrist. I doubt that I can find another doctor as cool (not pushy), friendly, and dedicated (to my eye health) as Dr. Lee.
My first optometrist was Dr. Alan Lee who owned this practice when I lived and worked in Foster City. Dr. Alan Lee then retired and the practice was taken over by Dr Darren Lee (not Dr. Alan’s son). I thought Dr. Alan Lee was cool, but Dr. Darren Lee was even friendlier. I’ve been with Dr. Darren Lee since.
Dr. Darren Lee has a very calm presence. He is genuinely interested in knowing me and asks about how my life is going each time I see him. He asks me for my opinion, gives his, and doesn’t attempt to push me to buy products or services that I don’t need. He’s there to help his patients and do good.
Dr. Lee’s office is bright and clean. His eyewear prices are reasonable, though I’ve switched to contacts. Plenty of parking in the back of the building.
I can’t recommend Dr. Darren Lee enough and plan to keep him as my optometrist for as long as I can.

Both of them are exceptionally nice, thorough and spend time to explain the process and what needs to be done. We moved from Foster City eye clinic to here and we very happy for the move. We have been visiting them for almost 3 years.

It sucks when you start showing signs of age and typically it’s your sight that tends to go first.
My keen vision has started to deteriorate so I made an appointment with Dr. Lee to get my eyes checked.
I hated to hear those words come out of his mouth but he said I needed glasses for reading. I was fine with distance but my short distance was failing quickly!
He said I could probably get away with cheaters but eventually would need to get a pair that would work for my reading and computer reading distances.
Glasses weren’t cheap but I wanted something lightweight and due to my line of work, I needed something comfortable so I could wear it while on the job.
Dr. Lee is very soft spoken and very thorough! He made the experience a bit more bearable for me to accept my fate! I highly recommend seeing him… no pun intended!

I just started going here because my vision was getting worse. These guys go out of the way to help you out. I got many friendly advise about worries I had on top of the yearly exam. Bunch of free samples and they even tried to repair some sunglasses that broke. Appt are fast and easy to get. I highly recommend Dr. Lee.

Dr. Lee and Dr. Gee are the best optometrists I’ve ever seen (disclaimer: I’ve only been to three others). Dr. Lee once spent about 10 minutes adjusting and readjusting the glasses I bought from their office, so that they would fit just right!

I have been going to Dr. Lee for the last 2 years. He is very patient and thorough. He makes the eye checkups feel so easy. Very nice to talk to. Doesnt prescribe glasses for the heck of it. I feel lucky to have a good doctor like him. Also, since he works on saturdays, it fits my work schedule well too.

I had my annual eye appointment with Dr. Lee. We started talking about swimming lessons, and how I was looking for classes for my child, and he mentioned the place where he took his kids for lessons. Dr. Lee also said that he periodically gets coupons in the mail. Well, two weeks later, Dr. Lee calls me and says his wife found a coupon for the swim class, and offers it to me. Now that’s above and beyond the normal customer service!

They are exceptionally nice and make the whole experience of getting an eye exam as pleasant as one could expect an eye exam to be. Even after moving across the bay I am still willing to make the trip for the exams. I’ve recommended all my coworkers to them several years ago and all agree with me and still use them today.

Dr. Lee is my favorite eye doctor ever and I think the receptionist is always friendly and helpful. I’ve never had problems with them (Dr. Lee nor the receptionist) and I love going there so much that I almost don’t want to get lasik because it would mean I’d stop visiting the office. I’ve been going to him for a few years now and have been pleased every time.

Recently, my husband visited here for the first time. His experience was fairly good, he liked the doctor but has complained that the receptionist was a little clueless. After getting set up with contacts, he decided a few weeks later to buy some glasses to wear at home. We found a great deal (especially since our insurance benefits had already been used up) but my husband needed a copy of his eyeglass prescription (which really should have been provided at his original visit…) so we called ahead and requested it. My husband arrived, the receptionist couldn’t find his file, yada yada, eventually found it and gave him the RX. Also told him he owed approximately $ 145 that the insurance didn’t cover-​this «fee» was because the receptionist had given him a «tutorial» on how to put in his contacts. Scam? Anyway, husband went to get his glasses and it was the last day of the great deal; found out that he had not been given a RX for eyeglasses as requested but had been given a RX for contacts. By that time, the Dr.‘s office was closed and would not re-​open for 2 more days. The eyeglass store was not willing to wait until the proper RX could be faxed in and so we lost out on the great deal.
I just called the Dr’s office-​spoke with the clueless receptionist and explained very clearly what had happened but had to repeat myself several times. She again had a hard time finding my husband in their system and eventually found his file then put me on hold for close to 5 minutes. I didn’t mind as I thought she was consulting with someone-​maybe trying to figure out a way to rectify the situation. Nope, she was just answering another call. Told me I could pick up the RX before 5:30pm and she was sorry. Whatever. I was going to visit their office as I need glasses as well but we’ll be going elsewhere.
So, the Dr’s may be good but maybe they need a better front office person.

Dr. Lee is really the best. There is nothing to complain about him. He is personable, patient and very thorough. He has a great selection of eye wear, and they are very reasonably priced. He explains in great detail and makes the patient at ease.
Ok… I have to admit that he has a crappy receptionist. She often gives out wrong information. She doesn’t call back in a timely manner, and sometimes not at all. I hope Dr. Lee finds someone better.

I’ve been going to Dr. Lee for about 5 years, and I highly recommend him. When time came for me to find new contacts, he was very patient in going through various types of contacts until we finally found the ones that fit me correctly. His exams are very thorough, and he is great at answering any questions or concerns that I might have. You will never have the feeling of being rushed through an examination. His staff has always been very professional, and they’ve never had any problems handling my insurance paperwork.

We have been going to Drs Lee and Gee for about four years now. They are thorough, spend time with you, have a great selection of frames from which to choose and explain the pros and cons of different types of lenses.
