Comcast Service Center

I recently moved and decided to switch from Comcast to AT&T U-​verse so I went to Foster City to return my comcast equipment. I discussed my reasons for leaving (mostly due to slow internet service) with Megan Wright, the Sales Agent, and she immediately jumped into action. She explained that I had the wrong box but to go ahead and give AT&T a try and if I should change my mind give her a call. She was very informative and nice about everything. Well, fast forward 4 days (because that’s all it took to realize how horrible AT&T U-​verse was, it freezes every 10 minutes) I called Megan to sign up for Comcast. It happened to be her day off but she came into the office just to help me and get me set up correctly. I’m blown away with her outstanding customer service and help. I’ve never seen anyone go out of their way like she did to help me. Astonishing really. 10 stars for Megan Wright! It’s because of her I’m back with Comcast!

Went to foster city location today and there is no doubt it was a five star experience. Ayesha was knowledgable, quick, efficient, super friendly and awesome. We got everything we needed plus all questions answered with a smile! Thank you!

Untruthful, unethical and bordering on criminal.
I’m a shareholder of Comcast and if other customers experienced this I’d encourage a letter of complaint to their management.
I went to return my cable box and close my account at 3:00 on a Friday afternoon. The rep informed me that I had a termination fee of $ 200. I did not recall agreeing to a long term commitment or that there was a cancellation fee. I requested to return the box while keeping my account open. The person helping me stated he could not take the box while the account was still open.
I asked to speak the manager. I was told s/​he was not available. I asked to speak the assistant manager. I was told s/​he was not available. The person serving me stated that he was the person with most authority who could help me — And he stated he wasn’t a mAnager or assistant manaGer. I then asked to speak with the regional manaGer. I was told that I could not speak with thaT person without going up chai of command. When I asked where management was, I was told that were on lunch, and that they would be back in 1 hour.
I returned to the store at 3:45. I was informed by another person that the managers are usually there in the morning. When I told him I would like to speak with manAgement about a bad experience in the store, I was informed the manAger was actually in the office but in a meeting.
In meantime, I cAlled Comcast, who informed me that I had not signed up for their 24 month contract And was not under obligation to pay a termination fee.
In short, here are my problems: charged $ 200 erroneously, misinformation regarding where management was, and being told I could not return a box without closing account (which may be true though I doubt this). Also, I felt there were significant obstacles with regards to speaking with management (or assistant or regional management).
I hope more profitable and viable option becomes available as this was really a terrible customer experience. I look forward to trying a different provider next time.
My understanding is that the local managers are Rich and Angie. I believe the regional manager is Joan.

Comcast’s automated phone system is the least humane system I have ever come across. Awful.

This place is terrible. Loud and obnoxious during my visit. I was using their phone to change my account and they just wouldn’t shut up. I had to keep asking the person on the line with me to repeat themselves. Absolutely thoughtless and rude. Avoid if you can.

The crappiest of the worst. We signed up for service for them last November and they said it would be up and running by the end of December. They made us sign a contract so that they could get started. Then at the end of December when nothing happened I contacted them and was told it was now end of February. No news for 2 months. I then contacted them at the end of February and was told mid April. After no news since i just contacted them and now they are saying end of May. So this is a company which crappy service that you cannot even rely on. If you have ANY other internet option I highly recommend you give them a try first before you go with comcast.

I see all, the one stars, and have read your horror stories, and sympathize. We too, spent yesterday on the phone with a promise of a call back which never came. Called again today regarding same problem, so they sent out a tech. He was the best, name was Allen Johnson. Before he even came in the house he was trouble shooting problem outside, found the issue, quite quickly, and went right to work on it. He spent the time, to fully explain the problem, solving it in timely fashion. He gets 5 stars, but since they dropped the ball, the day before, 4 stars.

Please don’t waste your time, money or effort! It took us three appointments just to get this system set up correctly (that’s three days of lost work!!) only to find out that we need to replace the brand-​new box with a better one that actually works! The supervisor said we need to go buy our own box. ??? Weird business model I would say!
Today a contractor hooked up cable for my neighbors and ruined our connection so we have no cable now. Thanks for NOTHING!!! I can’t wait to get a. different service that works installed!

Horrible customer service — the guy had snooty attitude — it was like pulling teeth to try and stop my tv service.

Thanks Comcast for screwing me out of my 105 mps Internet service for $ 55 a month. There new plan is like $ 80 for way less speed. The 105 mps is no longer available from what I was told talking on the phone with the retention department. I will have to keep my options open for another provider. these guys change plans without notifying customers. Great crappy service !!

Comcast seriously needs to step up their game. If I could have dish I would switch in a heartbeat. I am home sick today and cable went out at 2 and now it is saying will not be fixed until 9pm. Such a joke. We have called in and wasted at least 10 hours trying to get a handle on why we have had around 20 – 30 outages for extended periods of time since we moved to foster city 7 months ago. They should at least throw something in like a credit on our bill or extra channels. They even messed up setting up our cable and we had to wait an extra 3 wks because they showed up on the wrong day and they double booked for the correct day. They admitted fault but didn’t adjust a thing. Their work also installed the wrong part in the bedroom so that didn’t work for 4 wks and guess what!!! We STILL had to pay the $ 200 a month for non working cable. We also just lost a bunch of channels this month and now they want us to pay another $ 10 a month for them. Yeah right!
My husband works at home and has been leading meetings and has had comcasts faulty Internet fails countless times. This greatly affects his work.
It is a joke but our apartment doesn’t support dish so we had one option.
Don’t sign up with Comcast! I have been a customer for 11 years and it just keeps getting worse customer service and «no one» can help ever. No one is trained or equipped to help and you end up talking to a 3 – 4 people every time and phone calls take no less than 1 hour. I am disappointed since I used to love Comcast but now would not recommend them to anyone and really do hope they try to right their wrongs and try to value their customers.

Minus the beautiful man working here, it was a waste of time to try and resolve our problem in the store. We spent more time trying to explain to the lady we don’t have premium channels on any boxes at home than we should have. Seems like the conversation kept going in circles. Isn’t it just easier to look up and see that we haven’t been watching any premium channels? It’s cold, let’s just make this process simple please

I think I could have done better talking to an automated machine that told me to push numbers, it was like speaking to a wall with the same constant automated messages

As of right now, there is no way for me to report an outage without rebooting everything. They offered to let me out of my contract. But the only other viable option in Foster City is AT&T and I would rather gnaw off my thumbs. Maybe I should take this up with my city council. I am out of alternatives for running my business other than using my Verizon hot spot as back up. BUT that involves losing my web conference connection… Makes me look unprofessional to my clients.
We are working with Nick for a few weeks. He is doing great at trying to get us the service we pay for. We have decided not to talk to anyone else. I guess we will report outages to his direct line.
Please tell me I have alternatives!

Xfinity is simply the fastest internet in my area. It’s super speedy and I love that aspect. but God help you if you ever encounter any issues. I received a $ 99 service charge for a technician that never arrived. I also received 2 months of $ 4.95 late fees despite setting up autopay. According to the support person, «it takes several months for autopay to start working».
So you’re left with either wasting hours on the phone for trivial charges, or just paying them and spending 10 minutes writing 1 star reviews. I sincerely hope that this review influences one person to go without Comcast, or at least buy less services from them.

Addendum– 3^rd weeks in a row and another 1.5 hrs on the phone talking to 3 different ppl again and more spinning of whatever was I thought resolved from the week before. I have a real problem being told their service would be one set amount only to find the next week not even close again, more time more frustration until it gets worked out and crap, next time I sign into my account it’s all blown up again and increased to a new amount…
So frustrating that I am BASICALLY LIED TO EACH AND EVERY WEEK. 4 phone calls over 3 weeks and spoke to 9 different reps over almost 5 hours between a live person and being on hold… MONOPOLY AT ITS BEST!

I’m not even going to start my rant about ALL the chaos Comcast has created for my household. I’m going to state the basics and you can take it for what it is.
Comcast is a complete and utter mess. They trap you into contracts, even tho you can pay outrageous cancellation fee’s to get out of them, they’ll just tally fee’s onto your account even after you’ve CLOSED your account. Boxes that you return, might not be check in properly, and then therefore go missing and YOU are responsible for them, even when you dont have it.
The customer service team is not trained to discuss anything listed on the internet with you. Because its «different», which is understandable. BUT don’t list the customer service number under the online promotions. Idiots work here.
Keep a close eye on your bill. More often than not, you are being charged for services more than once and random charges pop up. When you contact customer service about it, they’ll verbalize a credit to you, but it never makes it your account. So you’ll have to call back, and the cycle continues.
If you have no other option besides Comcast, like most San Francisco residents, I’d stick to the super basics with Comcast and not try to take a deal they are offering because there are multiple strings and fees attached, even if they say there isn’t.
BOO ON YOU COMCAST. You SUCK!

I’ve been a customer of Comcast for the last 26 years. To me, they are the formost textbook example of the worst customer support company in California.
Most recently, we’ve been trying to change ownership of an TV and Internet installation at out San Francisco house from my mother-​in-​law to my wife. This has been going on since March and, as of today, June 6, 2015, both TV and Internet are inoperative. Our multiple attempts to rectify the matter have included a trip to the Foster City Service Center, where we provided my mother-in-law’s death certificate. Still, the account is in her name and we cannot change it based on results. We’re tired of talking to them, and there’s no trust between us.
We have been told of multiple outages (just one of the pretexts as to why they cannot help us), including one last night during the Warriors/​Cavaliers championship game. If true, this is a major public relations gaff, and I have trouble believing it’s true, as there’s been nothing in the in the news about it (evening of June 4).

I’ve been a comcast customer for years because, well the honest truth is you don’t get that many choices.
I actually today had a wonderful customer experience at the Foster City location. Parking was easy, finding the location was easy. When I went inside someone greeted me and told me where to go. After a brief wait I was assisted by Tonya or Tanya, who verified my order and made sure that I was getting the correct equipment for my needs.
She then went and got the equipment for me and explained how I could install it myself. I was out of there within maybe six minutes! It was really awesome everybody was really nice.

I hate Comcast just as much as the next guy, but I’ll give it to the employees here for being able to wipe a clean slate as they work through the snaking line of people who basically want to rip their heads off.
I’d say the line was comically long, but when you’re standing in it it really isn’t all that comical. The line legit does wrap around the store to the point where it’s actually pretty difficult to enter the building.
I won’t say that the line moves fast, but it moved mildly faster than I expected it to and when I got to the front, it didn’t take that long for me to get my cable box and crap — although my Dad came with me and nearly sh*t a brick when he heard I wasn’t paying for HD channels. HD channels? Who do I look like? Richard Branson or some ish?
