Nothing bad to say about the food. It’s good, hearty and served hot. However the staff, while are generally very attentive and courtesy, they don’t wash their hands after they go outside to smoke before they go back to handling your food. YUCK! Because of that I have to give them a 3 star rating.

Came for Father’s day with our entire family, and some from out of town-a party of 11. Seated immediately, but was in such a tight squeeze that everyone in the aisle was getting bumped in the back of the head. Took a while to have our orders taken, not sure why, because there weren’t that many people there when we arrived. Bacon was cold and overcooked. Pancakes were awesome, and the eggs were awesome. On top of taking a long time to order, the waitress was a little snotty with us, especially considering she had a large party and was getting a good tip for a weekend morning at a diner. Won’t come back, was’t really impressed.

Hub and I thought this place will be our future go-to spot for casual breakfast. Good food, great service, good pricing and lots to eat. They live up to their motto«A Lot for a Little». We both had eggs, sausage and home fries. Home fries are stand-out! Coffee cups were always kept hot and full. And for $ 7(2 eggs, home fries, bacon/sausage/goetta, bread choice), they’re the best thing going for breakfast!

Plethora of napkins. Two, to be exact. They unfold to about the size of a tablecloth, which is GREAT! I had one whole leftover emergency napkin at the conclusion of the meal. My only complaint is they were the smooth kind of napkin and my preference leans toward something a little more porous and absorbent texture.

Been coming here for a couple of years now based on Unilocal reviews. I like the neighborhood restaurant vibe. It’s my go to sit down breakfast place. I’ll also bring my daughter here if she works an all night shift. My regular breakfast here is the breakfast special with Goetta. Now about nine months ago I nearly gave up on the place but they got a different grill chef and the food quality is noticeably better. I love the hash browns here, they are chunky and greasy. The place isn’t as famous as the nearby Anchor Grill, but it is brighter and the service is usually good. My only wish for the place is that it opened an hour earlier so I could have breakfast here more often. I can easily recommend it to someone visiting the area.

Best little restaurant around. Especially if you like double decker sandwiches. My pic is from my ham and beef double decker.

Second time coming and we will not be back. Food was horrible. French toast was thin cold and tasteless. Syrup had no flavor. Bacon was so hard I could hardly eat it. The home fries are awesome though. Eggs were not over medium were raw and nasty. They don’t even butter your toast. So inevitably cold toast comes out and you have to put butter on it. Besides the food the kicker was our awful waitress. She was frumpy, dirty looking, and lazy. She would not bring things all the way to who they belong too she would just set them at one end of the table and make us all pass it down. She never filled my husbands coffee even one time. But other waitresses did. However we did not complain and were very kind to her. Then came the bill. It was quite messy and it didn’t really make a lot of sense. So my husband looked closely and realize that it didn’t add up. The waitress was trying to stack a six dollar extra tip by putting the wrong amount in. When my husband confronted her that it didn’t add up she got huffy with him then she added it up again herself but did it very quickly and said see it adds up. My husband said no that doesn’t add up. And so he asked for the calculator to add it up himself and she took off and said let the other waitress take your money. My husband and added it up and again it was six dollars over. So he handed it to the other waitress she ended up and yes it was six dollars over. We wonder how many people this woman cheats on a regular basis. If you go there the very careful to add up your bill.

My wife and I went there a Saturday morning for breakfast. It wasn’t a holiday weekend, just a normal day. There were four tables of people sitting there with no menus, water or silver ware. We seated ourselves and waited for about 10 minutes. No one even made eye contact with us. No greetings or «we’ll be with you in a minute». We were totally ignored. We left and went ½ mile down the road to Big Boy on Kyles Lane, and got prompt and courteous service. Haven’t been back to «Ft Wright Family Restaurant» ever since; have been back to Big Boy plenty of times. I’ve never been so totally ignored in all my life.

My wife and I recently moved to this area from Cincinnati. Even living in a city like that with such a variety of food options, we never could really find that«small town diner». Fortunately we found that place! If you’re looking for great diner food, good customer service and reasonable prices, this place is for you. Also, I highly recommend the bacon egg salad sandwich. You’ll thank me later.

This restaurant is awesome. This is a clean establishment with a great small town diner feel. The waitresses are personable and they seem to have their regulars and for good reason. The food here no matter what I have had has always been on point. Ever since I have had the bacon and egg salad club its too hard to order anything else. I wish I didn’t live so far from here because this would be one of my favorite spots to eat.

Local greasy spoon… The price is very low compared to other similar places. Not much to look at but a good reasonably priced breakfast will had!

Always more food than anyone should eat! Breakfast reigns supreme. My only complaint is that they think Tabasco is how to cater to those of us who enjoy hot or spicy food.

We lived around the corner from this spot for over a year without trying. One dreary Saturday morning while recovering from overdoing it on the cocktails we decided to dive right in. Ft. Wright Family Restaurant is exactly what you expect. A small, local joint with classic greasy spoon breakfast food and waitresses that you call you darlin. The home fries are awesome. Actual potatoes sauteed with butter and onions — just like my mom makes and best when drenched in ketchup. I typically get their omelettes — with my favorite being the ham and cheese. If you love cheese — this is the guy for you. I, personally after imbibing in too many stiff cocktails, like egg with my cheese so the way they do it here is just right. I give it 3 stars in a loving way. Mostly because I prefer takeout over dine in here, the options are pretty basic, and while it’s good it doesn’t blow you away. That being said, Ft. Wright Family Restaurant is always there when you need breakfast in a bind!

First discovered this eatery by word of mouth from a co-worker. Went to sample… fell in food love with it. Wife and daughter are huge fans as well. Portions and tastes are both vast. Service is very homey and family friendly.

Great little place. I have driven past the place for years and finally made it in today. Pretty disappointed with myself I waited so long! Monster burger and prices were very reasonable. Definitely going into my lunch rotation.

We ventured to Ft. Wright Family Restaurant in search of the next great diner. I was a little disappointed this wasn’t a crusty old school diner, mostly because those are my fav. But rather one with plastic tables and chairs, the price is right playing on a tv from the 90’s and a breakfast bar. Indeed, a diner. As soon as we entered we could tell that this place was a family run place. There were a ton of old timers and regulars alike. The staff was extremely smiley and our coffees were always filled to the brim. The first thing we noticed was the breakfast special: 2 eggs, meat, home fries toast and coffee for only $ 4.99. What a steal! We were craving omelets so we opted out. We both got the Western and one side of biscuits and gravy to share. The omelets were good, although one of the greasiest I have ever had. An instant stomach ache, but the bf said it was worth it. I stopped half way through and devoured the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was home made. Nice and peppery just the way I like it, with big chunks of sausage in it. The prices were on par or maybe a little above other diners in the arear at around $ 8 bucks for an omelet. I think our total was around $ 26 bucks including drinks and the side of biscuits and gravy. Overall a great family run breakfast joint to hit up if you are in the area.

I’ve been finding something yummy to eat here for about the last 7 years. The atmosphere is somewhat a Greek themed greasy spoon if that makes any sense.(Waffle House meets«My Big Fat Greek Wedding») Prices are very reasonable for the food portions you receive. Although they have specials every day, and a not so shabby menu lineup I find myself ordering breakfast here more than anything regardless of the time of day. However, if you’re looking for a monster of a double-decker sandwich I encourage you to look no further. These things have at least a pound or more of meat and other ingredients piled onto them. Most of the folks that work here have been around for quite some time and this always seems like a nice family establishment. If you haven’t tried this place before and are looking for something better than many and different than most then this is the place to find it.
